ROFL, i will never do a monthly
i forgot arenanet and ncsoft are the same people and Ncsoft is know for creating Korean grind-house games. Had I rememberd i would never have bought this game after my exp with linage, linage2 and Aion grindhouse games are the Ones that want you to do the same thing 100x of times to get one suit of gear or item. Look at what they want you to do get your legendary weapon ?ROFL
Sorry token systems are for the BIRDS well maybe little bit but when the majority of the good treasure is gained though token systems its grindhouse game.
100% agree with the OP, I played solo for 80 levels i did not expect or want that to change.
On further note the story feels like a 10 year old wrote it,
If arenanet is planning on releasing an expansion each year with an elder dragon as the finally dont expect anymore of my money. I will expect far more original ideas before parting with another 60 dollars to this company

note i will attempt to be honest in the most polite and constructive way possible. Apparently i upset a mod a few days back Hopefully truth is listen to here not censored into oblivion.

Overall i think the story pitting the player against an elder dragon and then deciding that’s not believable should have been enough for any developer to rework a poor story concept rather than force dungeon play on the player
lets just be clear dungeons are the worst thing i have seen in 15 years of mmo play and i have played sense 1989 and merdian59 its hard to do that bad.
As far as i can tell there is little to no penalty to death in this game thus the rewards where to high in the dungeons so people farmed them and redeemed to that was to make them oppressively hard.
Most of the time a dungeon can be beating if you bang your head on the wall long enough but most players will quit and this is how they fail once 2 people drop out due to frustration its over.
I think long ago this issue was addressed with lockout timers on end game content in almost every other mmo.
This way the game doesn’t have to be so hard the player wants too quit and also it cant be farmed 20 times a day.
Final thoughts on this game it seem to reenforce solo play then punish players who groups to do a dungeon by bashing there face in some feeble attempt to make it seem worth the end game content reward. which seems to be some token system to buy some gear i have always hated these in mmo why not give the player the chance to get that gear in the dudgeon rather than force repetitive grinding of that same dungeon 20-100 times to get the same gear ?

Immersion 110% the dynamic events with npc that go do places and do things is amazing its probably the strongest suit of this game it makes world feel real.
Story 30% pretty predictable and corny in some parts
Game Play 45% Kind of repetitive
Over all about 7 out of 10 playable on long term scale cause its FREE =)

Explorable Mode – Moderate difficulty for extremely organized and well versed players. Randomly formed pick up groups should find this content very difficult. Memorable moments of accomplishment and achievement when you defeat an exceptionally difficult boss/encounter.

Hands down dungeons are the worst exp I have had in any mmo in past 20 years, I have raided in EQ1, EQ2 and WOW. I have done massive battles in Eve Online.
After 46 levels I still have no clue how to play this game and that’s not due to my lack of ability this game makes no sense and pretty much expects the player to have psychic powers. which skills should I buy ? how do they work… MMO generally award set skills based on class and level.
Then its up to the player to figure out the tactics needed to succeed at that class
This game pretty fills a hat with random skills for that class and lets the player randomly chose with no clue what they do or how they work.
I will say this is a far cry from lineage 2 days of giving a player the same skill over and over every 10 levels and just adding a roman numeral. but I believe the real answer is somewhere in the middle.
So in ending this I see dudgeons as another tease like lineage 2 was with the point system something only a hardcore player with no life will engage in. I have always hated that aspect of every ncsoft game Aion had the same problem with the points system too.
Lets be clear Raiding in EQ,EQ2, WOW wasn’t easy but it wasn’t impossible ether.
As for the tokens what are they i havent goten one yet cause i have no elite friends to teach me how to play ROFL
