That’s what I assumed OG, and that’s really a bummer when QoL fixes can make the feel of classes much more helpful and exciting in the long run. Ranger has alot of good ideas from others that can positively impact the class more.
I really like your idea Insane, being able to use any of the pet skills when you want to. Would really help when you want to use their cc skills at the right time (when jade constructs go into protection mode), when you need that nice heal from moas as your hp is down, etc. Really, there’s alot of good ideas that can create more fun and strategy to a fight.
I have a few suggestions I want to make based on ranger pets that I’m sure have been asked here before but would like to raise again.
- Expand more on the pet ui we currently have by showing boons and conditions that it currently has, plus any other buffs it also currently has. It makes it easier for us to see what our pets have rather then clicking them or making a guess. (Could be shown below the pet ui)
- Have the other 3 pet skills be shown above the pet ui. It would show what skills the pet has with its normal information shown on the tooltip and also show what skills are on cooldown. Like normal you cant manually use these skills.
- Have the pet skills that give boons be able to give yourself that boon regardless of range. It’s annoying that you have to be in a certain radius to gain the same pet boon, as you have to be in melee range for most of them, so only your pet will have them if you are attacking at a long range unless you use We Heal as One. It could work like Call of the Wild, if that directly gives you and your pet the boons at any range.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Bring up enchanted arrows and gw1, it would be nice to see preparation skills like kindle arrows and armor penetration come a thing in gw2. I don’t know how well it could be implemented since combat is different now, but shooting explosive arrows that damage enemies around your target would be cool to see.
With all the projectile hate I don’t see it as something beneficial.
I would love to see ranger become a sniper class and utilize the rifle, but seeing how there are alot of projectile destroying/reflecting skills, it would be good in pve but not as easy in spvp/wvw.
Instead of the bonuses being condition damage and toughness, can it be power and precision/ferocity? Would match the 7% damage increase with kits better, or make kits give a condition damage increase and keep its current stats.
Small suggestion, but if the spatial surge skill could be changed:
Instead of a beam of energy, it could be an auto-chain attack where you slash your greatsword left and right and a wave of energy flies toward your target each attack , ending with an overhead attack that deals more damage. Like how the skill currently is, the waves of energy can hit up to 3 targets in a line or pierces until it hits your main target.
If you have played dark souls, my concept comes from the moonlight greatsword where its special attack shoots out a bright magical wave in a straight line.
What do you guys think?
On elementalist, when you have the trait ‘inscription’ chosen, it reduces recharge of all glyphs except glpyh of elemental power. In the utility skills menu, the tooltip for that glyph correctly shows the reduced recharge for the skill, yet the cooldown is before recharge reduction when used.
note: glyph is 45 seconds cooldown before reduction, 36 seconds after. In the utility bar, it shows 45 seconds even with the trait in use.
