Does Sigil of Transference Help Heal Minions?

The CC is to prevent your opponents from simply kiting the minions.

Ah, that makes sense. So it’d be better in PvP, while what I said would help more in PvE.

What Sigils do you recommend? The only thing close to CC the second link had was Hydromancy, which chills on switch. The rest were stealing health and healing allies. If I used a CC sigil on switch, it probably wouldn’t be necessary to use a second CC sigil on that weapon, correct?

Also, if I used hydromancy, could I apply it to my staff and my dagger (so that it triggers every time I switch regardless which I switch to)?

It does work like that, but it’s not as helpful as you are assuming. “+X% outgoing healing” applies to all healing that you personally are the source of, but not on yourself.

Basically, it’s not that helpful because minions, by and large, are disposable. Use sigils that provide CC or personal survivability instead.

I get that minions are usually just disposable, but for my specific build, the focus is on preserving the minions as much as possible (all armor/weapons has ++healing power)
I’m largely basing off of these two builds:
http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/70874-chunxs-minion-mastery-guide/ (more detailed but has obsolete parts)
http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Necromancer_-_Minion_Master (designed for conquest)

The first link recommends relying heavily on the staff, as staff 2 can heal minions, and that’s essential to keeping them alive. With all the extra healing power, they should be a lot healthier than usual.

The second link recommends using swap sigils, but if there is truly a focus on healing minions, as they are essential to my build, it would make sense to use the runes talked about in link 1 (superior rune of the monk boost up healing a lot and increases healing effectiveness)
Similarly with sigils, if I focused on my staff, it seems swap skills would not help as much, so having sigils like superior sigil of water which can heal the minions upon hit, would be very valuable.

The focus is a lot less on me personally hurting the opponents, and more of helping my minions do the work for me.

Is using CC to stop opponents from doing things on me more essential than keeping my minions alive in a minion focused build?
I do have staff skill 5 to inflict fear, and I also have flesh golem to run them over.

So I’ve had a minion build for awhile (I don’t have HoT, though, so I can’t use Rise), and as I’ve been approaching level 80, I’ve been working on deciding exactly how I plan to finalize some things.

Based on things I’ve read, I will go for a ton of healing power, and a big focus on healing the minions.

Staff is my main weapon, as using Mark of Blood is essential.

I love PvP, so that is a major focus for me (not super competitive, but I love playing against my friends).
As PvP is what’s most important to me, I don’t plan to get a huge number of stacks from killing foes. Killing them once is what I should focus on.
This seems to eliminate the helpfulness of the Sigil of Life, which is often recommended for it’s healing power.

So I’ve looked to other options, and I noticed the Sigil of Transference, which says “Outgoing healing effectiveness is increased by X%.”

Would this apply to the regen my minions get from Mark of Blood (staff skill 2)? If so, this seems like a very powerful and helpful sigil (but it’s expensive, so I’ll be saving up for a little while).

Does transference work like that and is it as helpful as I’m assuming?

Thanks,

Making .dat into smaller files

Hello,
(sorry about title mistake, it is .dat)
GW2 saves everything under one massive .dat
Is there a way to make it into multiple smaller files?

I wanted to save GW2 on my external hard drive, but there is no way I can allocate that much memory into one file on it, so I need to break it up.
Is there any way to do that?

Thanks,
BobtheLawyer

Necro Leeching Build "Minion Scholar"

Hello!
I saw your Minion build and it looks pretty cool!
Is Death Nova not worth it?
Since bone minions die really fast, among other minions, I thought that them doing damage upon death would be pretty nice.

So I know what conditions are, but I don’t have a real good understanding of how devastating they are.
You chose Spiteful Removal, so is that not enough to get rid of harmful conditions? Do you need Fetid Consumption?
Also, if I use a staff, which has the ability to remove conditions, would this be sufficient?

I’m in an early part of the game so I don’t have a good idea about all of this, but reading through, your build seems pretty solid. I was just wondering whether it would be a good idea to take 10 out of blood magic and put it into death magic to get Death Nova.

Although you would be losing a +90 power, you would be getting 5% power from your toughness number which is increased with the number of your minions. This would also allow Death Nova.

Would this loss of 90 power and condition healing just for Death Nova make this a terrible idea?

I’m just trying to get an idea of how this game works.

I really wish you could convert extra Skill points to Trait points as you only need 18 to have a minion build… It’s rather disappointing.

Also, does being a Charr put me any worse off than any other race or are they all equal?

Thanks!

Arkeals Minion Master Build

So I’m rather new to Guild Wars 2, but I decided to be a necromancer because of all the minions which seem rather fun. I’ve never been much good against real people anyways. (I’m not much on the dark theme related to necromancers, so I made sure to give him the most colorfuly ridiculous outfit possible )

I don’t really understand what boons are or conditions and how good it is to get rid of them, but I don’t see why this wouldn’t be the best skill set:
My Build

I thought Death Nova would be useful, along with the +33% damage, so I tied those in, sacrificing the boon and conditions remover.

Is this a good idea?

Please note that I don’t have this yet, I am currently working on this character, so feedback would be greatly appreciated, as it will directly feed into how I play the game.
