I would think most guilds would help you with acquiring a legendary and you are missing the point behind being in a guild. Just because a guild doesn’t specifically list that they help their members acquire legendaries, I think it should be a given that a guild will help their members out with whatever it is they need help with…

Each legendary consists of a lot of “ingrediants”. While guilds may help you farm for ingrediants, I doubt you will find a guild that is specifically made to make legendaries, as they are only one small part of the game that requires you to do all those other things you listed to get. Also, that’s a lot of stuff to list in guild chat and we have a link in our forums to help our members know what they need to make the legendaries.

Our guild would gladly help you do the things that you need to get your legendary, but I don’t think any of our 150+ active members have gotten one since they are so expensive and time consuming to make and don’t give you any better stats than an exotic weapon.

I agree with the OP. If someone chooses a certain title they have achieved, make it show up under their name. If someone doesn’t want any of their titles to show, they just leave it set as no title.

I think the cost to travel to waypoints is way too expensive for level 80’s. Most people “cheat” by using Heart of the Mysts anyway to cut down on traveling expenses.
Let’s face it, it can cost almost 5 silver just to get from one place to another sometimes, and just to go kill the dragons once in a while, you don’t even make that much from the drops from the chests, or might break even with bad drops.

Without fast moving mounts in the game, noone is going to run from one end of the world to the other, so at least make traveling not so expensive. I’d say cut the costs of traveling by 50% at least. It’s hard enough to save gold in this game as it is.

Legendary weapons don’t have to have a ton of extra stats, but I agree with the OP, at least give them a little bit better stats. If they have the same stats as exotics, then I’m more than happy with my guild skin on weapons and will never take the time making a legendary just so I can look cooler. It’s too much effort for nowhere near enough reward.

I am the leader of DEA on Yak’s Bend. We have over 200 members and are actually about to close recruitment to referrals only after this Sunday as we have more than enough members. I spend at least 2 hours a day maintaining the guild (recruiting on forums, updating our website, going over applications, looking over forum posts, checking members applications for higher ranks, planning guild events, and the list goes on and on).

It is nice that you want to lead a guild and help people out, but it all basically comes down to a few simple questions.

#1)Do you want to play the game or do you want to lead/run a guild?
Like I said above, it takes a lot of time creating and running a guild and what do you want more, to enjoy the game or create and run a guild? If the answer is play the game, you’d be way better off joining an already established guild and looking into an officer position where you can still help the guild flourish and help fellow members.

#2)Do you have the spare time and dedication to start a guild from the ground up?
A new guild is only going to grow based on the time you put into recruiting. This includes creating unique guild recruitment posts which list everything your guild has to offer, creating and maintaining a website, going from area to area in-game spamming recruitment messages, etc.

If your answer to the first question was, “I want to be a guild leader! I have plenty of time to dedicate to my guild and I know I will make it succeed!”, then you still have to ask yourself one final question…

#3)Am I really in this for the longhaul?
The last thing people need is a fly by night, here today/gone tomorrow guild. If you know that you only have two weeks till you go back to college or work full-time and won’t have the time to give to your guild after that, why waste other peoples time and dreams? Admit the fact that you won’t be able to dedicate the time and effort your guild deserves, or that maybe you never follow through with things and know you are just going to give up on your guild once you get the guild bank upgrade.

By the way, none of these examples are meant to be mean to you or anyone that reads this post. They are generalized examples that popped into my head. I don’t know you personally so none of these is meant to crush your dreams of running a guild, but they are serious questions to consider, and no matter what you decide, I wish you the best of luck and hope this post has helped. I agree on this post also. As a guild leader, there comes times when I need to send out mails to my guild, and this makes it a terrible experience. Log relog log relog log relog log relog, you get the point…..

And trust me, the gold spammers know how to program their mail bots around this also. It is ineffective and a nuisance.

I agree that it should be listed.

And I for one like being able to decide whether to gear for it or not. I have a farming character that stacks a boatload of it, then I have other characters that are pure dps.

And to Nappychappy, I guarantee I get way better loot than you, sorry bout your friends luck and assumptions not based on statistics.

The infestation of bots has become utterly sickening, to the point that it makes me want to log off and give up on an otherwise wonderful game.

I know Anet is making enough money to provide in-game support, but if you want to be tight a**es and not provide in-game support, that is fine. At least pay some people to be in-game getting rid of all these fing bots. It is sickening.

I literally have seen bots I have reported several times each at least 2 to 3 weeks ago and there they still are, running around the game world screwing every player out of his hard earned time, gold, and the economy.

Get this crap under control yesterday! PLEASE! I beg you! I can’t emphasize how badly this needs to be nipped in the bud!

I am the guild leader of DEA on Yak’s Bend. We have over 200 active members and I believe the following need to be updated with top priority on the guild tab:

-Last time members logged in
-More room to type stuff into message of the day

I also don’t like people being able to be in multiple guilds for a number of reasons that I don’t care to discuss or bring up.

Guild Halls would be awesome, but I have confidence these will eventually be implemented down the road.

The rest of the posters suggestions are above and beyond what I need to run my guild, but the two I mentioned are huge.

I can barely type our guild website and our voice chat info and I’m out of room, and it sucks not knowing when the last time our members have logged in.

If someone doesn’t log in in a months time, they are removed from the guild.

I currently have to take several screenshots of sections of our guild roster and go by the date on the screenshot they went Unknown on their location status and it’s a real pain in the butt.

I am starting to think of this as a troll post… cmon man. You seem to be looking for too much for a casual player that plays other games with all these different guilds posting, PLUS you have another post before this one! Seriously….

Maybe stick with a guild more than a day before deciding it isn’t right for you and give it like a week before making a decision.

DEA on Yak’s Bend is a very active, casual guild that was made for players who enjoy grouping up and playing the game with other people a majority of the time.

We have over 200 members, half of them log in every day, and a lot of them are friends and family. Guild events are at least once a week in which we get in groups and do entire zones, but none are mandatory.

We are mainly PVE, but there are some who pvp and we have members of all levels. Whether you’re looking to level, do events, find world bosses, run dungeons, or pvp, we do it all and we have fun doing it.

Our guild has unlocked the guild bank, treasure trove, guild emblem, guild armorer and weapon smith, and all the pve buffs and banners.
