Mortar is useless except in the most specific circumstances. Supply drop may be dull, but it’s the most useful of any of our elites.
Aside from that, it doesn’t seem too shabby. I have a similar build, but instead of full explosives and grenade kit, I go 10 into explosives (for burn on crit), full alchemy, and various elixirs. I don’t know much about grenade kit, play-wise, because I don’t ever use it on land, so I can’t figure how well they’d work for you.
TBH, pistols aren’t a bad AOE weapon. Our basic attack is an aoe, though small, but when you add coated bullets, you’d be surprised how many enemies you can hit at once. I’ve never felt the need to have a specific AOE weapon, myself. But maybe that’s just me.

I’ve always just used the grenade kit underwater, so now I’m wondering what is better for an engineer not specced in neither turrets nor grenades. Anyone already tested this?
I got plenty of vitality from the alchemy tree alone. My engineer has significantly more health than my guardian and especially my thief, and yet gets into the fray much less often. So I chose to stack toughness on my armor instead of vit, but if you don’t go into the alchemy trait tree, then you may want to stack some vit. Up to you.
Actually, ^This.
From the alchemy tree alone i have around 22,7k health. If u stack toughness here that will be the best for survivability. But as you want to do condition, why not stack condition dmg?. that what i do.
I stack precision, toughness, and condition damage. The only downside is there is no jewel with those 3 stats, so finding accessories with them was… really expensive. :/
You could also go power, precision, condition damage, which gives you a higher crit chance than the combo I mentioned above (which means more procs for your crit-based traits), but less condition damage. It’s also cheaper, as coral jewels have that combo. But you’ll take more damage, and I’m personally of the opinion that the extra power doesn’t actually add much to your damage total at all. But I haven’t crunched the numbers, that’s just how it seems to me.

The Mushroom hairstyle is basically the sylvari afro, or “vegetafro,” as I call it, so let’s show those jive turkey leaf-heads who’s really the funkiest, freshest plants around!
Awwwwwww yeaaaaaaa.
This particular breed of sage was inspired by my armor color pattern. Just kidding… I actually picked the colors long before I saw the flower, but the colors do match perfectly (very dark blue, regular blue, and a bit of green in the stem) and it’s a pretty flower. :P
Here’s mine, recently kitted out in shiny (well… glowy), wallet-busting new cultural armor. The pistols are the ones you get for beating the story and turning in the token. I used the token from one of my alts so I could get a matching set. :-P
He still has a noble’s mask at the moment, because no helmet will ever look cooler than the ’shroom. EVER.
Edit: I know the picture is a little dark, but no, that’s not abyss or black, it’s midnight blue. I may be willing to blow tons of gold on sweet leaf armor, but I refuse to pay 22g for a single dye.

Are there even diminishing returns? I just stack it on everything. Seems to work.
Check out these shoulders~
Lotta armor simply isn’t scaled down or positioned correctly for Sylvari.
These ones though are floating pretty high. ;/ Excuse me for not wearing pants btw.
That’s just nuts. O_o
/sigh… the fact that this issue is unlikely to be fixed anytime soon is a little frustrating, I’m not gonna lie. I realize gameplay issues take precedence, but the developers themselves said that most of the point of getting cool gear was for the looks, so I just don’t see how they could’ve allowed this in the first place.
That doesn’t explain why a lot of other shoulders have normal models, or why the pvp guild shoulders look normal.
The medium ones I mean, on a male sylvari as opposed to on a male human?
At least it’s such in the preview screen.
It’s a minor issue, but it’s really bugging me because if they were normal sized they’d look great on my main. Why are they so darn huge? Is it just in the preview screen? I don’t feel like spending a bunch of tokens just to find this out.
Anybody with a male sylvari have these shoulders? Are they actually that freaking gigantic? I appreciate any help figuring this out.
It’s especially weird because the “guild shoulders” in pvp look normal. Why is it just the Caudecus’ Manor ones that are messed up?

Preferable as in what seems more effective for a dual pistol condition damage build. I mean, I’m sure somebody has done some tests, I’m just curious which type of gear works best. So far I’ve been running power, prec, condi damage. I’m not really sure how that’s opinion based since it all just boils down to numbers.
Power, Perc, Condition damage gear which gives you higher crit chance but less condition damage, not to mention more power or,
Perc, tough, condition damage which gives you more condition damage, but somewhat less crit chance, and greater survivability?
The first one is easier to get, but I’m not sure it’s worth the weaksauce armor rating or that it causes more damage overall. Thoughts?
YEAAAA! REVEL IN HOPELESS OPTIMISM! BREAK THE WALLS DOWN!!
I may already have hit the bar too hard. WHO CARES?! EVERYBODY RAVE!!!
nnn ts nnn ts nnn ts!
I scratch my head all the time. And feel my face, and just generally poke around my head with gusto. Just a run through the hair (leaves?) and a rub of the chin. Seems normal enough to me.

I don’t do much PvP or WvW, but I run a condition damage pistols build and it works fine. I even got props today for almost completely soloing a champion -level event monster. Granted, there was a LOT of kiting needed and I did start to lose it right at the end before some guy came and helped me finish it off, but still, he was impressed. I also seem to pull a lot of attention from mobs in dungeons. Not always a good thing, but there ya go.
Point is, My Engineer does just fine.
