This will be cool. Now, if we could just get golem week back. Puh-lease!!! People in WvW need to lighten up a little.
As for the rest of you, learn to read.
allows gliding in territories that your team owns in the Mist War maps
That seems pretty clear. No big words other than ‘territories’, but that’s in the dictionary.
People will just fly away instead of fighting now
By definition, you can only fly away if you already control that territory. So, while you’re flying away, I’ll be capping your stuff.
anyone can run away from a fight by just gliding away
No, only the people who own that territory can glide away. Feel free to abandon your defense. I doubt the attackers will complain.
If your zerg is about to get *decisively wiped
Since you can’t glide unless you’re defending, go ahead and leave. I’ll be the guy in the cap circle spamming /laugh /wave.
devalue my raid achievement…
LMAO – Legendary Armorer isn’t a freaking “raid achievement”. It’s an Explorer achievement. That fact would have be obvious to everyone if you hadn’t carefully cropped your image to avoid showing the left side of the achievement panel. Raids just happened to be the first way to acquire legendary armor. You’re not special in any way and doing raids won’t change that.
Please help us Crown a Victor and allow that victor to ascend properly from the Bowels of WvW NA!
Except Dragonbrand is only in T4 due to random shuffling. Based on rating, DB is 8th, TC is 10th, and SoS is 12th. You should have been facing HoD this week, not DB.
1-up-1-down has never actually been used. They should start with a week that’s based on pure rating with no random shuffling and then run 1-up-1-down starting at the end of that week.
Seems reasonable and well thought out. It’s arguable that the increased distances on redBL might need a slight increase to the 2 minute and 5 minute stuff, but it’s a solid concept.
I find it telling that you get 5 minutes for killing the lord even if you get wiped before you can cap. That makes it obvious to me that the times were set up by somebody who actually plays WvW.
There’s no such thing as a top individual player. The fact that you believe there could be is an indication that you don’t actually understand WvW.
So a clear TOS violation that has a deliberate, negative effect on other players and the entire game mode doesn’t result in bans? I had to have read that wrong.
It may be faster for you to type /stuck and then not move. After 30 seconds, it should teleport you back to your spawn. If you move or do any other activity, it will cancel the /stuck command and you won’t be able to attempt it again for 2 minutes.
Once it moves you back to spawn, you can’t use the command again for 10 minutes.
Will this work when we get stuck in walls in WvW? Maybe I just have bad luck, but it seems like at least once a week I blunder into a broken wall just as the circle caps.
I just want a gliding week. Like the golem week. Don’t change anything other than turning on gliding and then enjoy the chaos. That would be a good time.
While we’re at it, bring back golem week. And let golems glide during gliding week.
Of course they upgrade much faster if you don’t have SM. Sit in EBG with your map open and time the yaks. Then you’ll know exactly how much faster.
1 vs 2 vs 10? Seriously? W.inall.T.F?
A small part of me wonders if this has anything to do with hunting down and targeting Anet guild tags last week. Oh Well.
Forcing tags to be public doesn’t foster “inclusiveness”. All it does is increase the resentment against rallybots following a tagged group. Give it up, Anet. Some people want to be pugmanders and that’s great. Other people want to run a tight, disciplined squad with a tag visible only to the squad members and that’s great too.
This isn’t about being inclusive. It’s about trying to force everyone to play the game the way the devs want them to play. The fact that there are work-arounds doesn’t excuse the silliness of “that’s not how you’re supposed to play the game”.
There are some valid points on either side,
This is a game that rewards the player with an achievement for killing large quantities of rabbits, birds, deer, etc. (ambient creatures) that are incapable of fighting back and will never agro. The game rewards players for kicking a quantity of chickens. The game rewards players for killing sentient, tool using, clothing wearing creatures in obscure locations who are doing nothing but hanging around their personal garden of 12 cabbage plants.
With all of the anti-social, rude, and simply evil things players are encouraged to do in order to obtain rewards, it’s nearly the pinnacle of snowflake hypocrisy to complain about a decorative minipet that has an unattractive mode of travel.
I blame the stale match up
Yup. It’s been YEARS now and every attempted fix has been a failure. Preventing stale match ups isn’t even hard to do.
Winner moves up 1 bracket, loser moves down 1 bracket.
BOOM. A repeat of last week’s match up becomes impossible. Four severs (top 2 and bottom 2) will only see 1 new opponent each week, but the other eight servers are guaranteed to play against two servers that they didn’t play against last week.
instead of low level hobo’s guarding our stuff. XD
This may be the best thing ever said on the GW2 forums,
1. Build Saver
2. Build Saver
3. Build Saver
& last but not least,
4. Build Saver
but Raolin is right.
Legendary WvW Backpack: [The Bag of Salt]
Make it fill up with more salt the higher your wxp rank is.
uh… you just requested the ultimate kitten.
edit: seriously? kitten is a disallowed word?
echo papa echo echo november
This is getting ridiculous.
Boris
I would love to see a 1 Day/24 hour Gliding Event where gliding is allowed… FULLY
This! Although I’d be ok with a full week. It wouldn’t be all that different than golem week. Was golem week annoying? Yep. Was it also ridiculously fun? Yep.
For one week, disable PPT and enable unrestricted gliding.
Boris
Can you finally completely remove ALL pve creatures from wvw. There in zero reason are them to be there
Yes, and get rid of all of those stupid cliffs, trees, and rocks. There’s no reason for them to be there either. They’re just slowing me down when I’m trying to get somewhere. I had to go around a cliff last week and almost died.
Boris
some classes can turn on their passive buttons and yolo across the map until they fall off a ledge.
Guilty.
Also, why in the heck isn’t PPT tied to population? That’s such a ridiculously easy way to reward people who are busting their butts while horribly outnumbered.
X = number of people on the map
Y = max allowed on map
PPT * (Y/X) = amount added to War Score
If you’re outnumbered 2:1, then everything you’re able to defend is worth twice as much. Is this “unfair” to the big servers in T4/T5? Does anybody really care?
Boris
edit: yes, dirtbags will try to game the system by logging out 15 seconds before PPT is counted. No big deal. Just determine the value for X at some random time during the 15 minute countdown.
The game is called Guild Wars, not Server Wars. Dump the idea of servers and replace them with Guild Alliances. Having Guild Alliances that battle against other Guild Alliances would allow everyone to play exactly the way they want to play.
- Allow any guild create an Alliance (that Guild leader is now the Alliance leader).
- Allow the Alliance leader to invite other guilds to join their Alliance.
- Create several Arenas based on Alliance population cap and allow the Alliance leader to enter their Alliance into any Arena as long as they don’t exceed the Alliance cap. If you only have 200 people, but you want to play in the 800cap Arena just to prove a point, then go for it. There definitely also needs to be a 114cap arena. That’s only 2 people per building and 1 person per camp. Now, FIGHT!
- Before a person is eligible to battle in the Guild Wars, that person must be marked by their guild as eligible and only eligible players count against the Alliance cap. (that way you can still have PvE friends in your guild without them counting against your Alliance cap and Bob can go on vacation without needing to leave the guild).
The other amazing benefit of this… NO TROLLS! Everybody on your map would be a member of your Alliance. If they’re a troll either their Guild leader boots them or the Alliance leader boots that Guild.
No, you can’t join an alliance as an individual and no you’re not allowed to belong to two different guilds that are part of different alliances. Stop asking. You’re just trying to spy.
Even if Alliances doesn’t happen:
~ ~ Please don’t lower the map population caps too much. Dropping the cap by a bit would be ok, but some people really love big brawls.
~ ~ As someone else said, this also looks cool, but seems like it would be complicated for Anet to implement. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHcO6Xo8eJ8&feature=youtu.be
~ ~ The Outnumbered buff! Make it matter. If you’re downed by somebody who’s Outnumbered, then you’re fully dead. Perhaps even impossible to res.
Boris
I don’t want all of my money from every character glommed together in one pile. WTF were you thinking Anet?
B
Yeah! So glad I ignored that stupid event.
Are you able to enter the EB jump puzzle through a portal in a keep that’s currently held by an opponent? I was screaming down the stairs in Overlook the other day with about 50 health left and 3 enemies chasing me when I made a dive for the portal hoping I could get through and survive by having a fast load time or at least sucker them into chasing me rather than defending the wall. Unfortunately, the archer npc took me out inches from the portal so I have no idea if my escape plan would have worked or not. Does anyone have actual knowledge of whether this works? The JP portals aren’t color coded, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re open to any team.
Boris
So…. if you think that 5 minutes is too long for righteous indignation with these changes, I guess you’re going to be really upset to find out that righteous indignation actually lasts for 6 minutes.
- for 1 minute, the buff says “5 min”
- for 1 minute, the buff says “4 min”
- for 1 minute, the buff says “3 min”
- for 1 minute, the buff says “2 min”
- for 1 minute, the buff says “1 min”
- for 1 minute, the buff counts down 60 seconds
Longest 5 minutes in the game.
Winning is fun, badges are useful, but snowman armies and golems perched like gargoyles in the JP are the real reason WvW in BP is worth playing. Now if my kids would just go back to school so I can have time to play!
Boris
