The black screen is because a current bug since the last patch keep resetting your rendering settings when diving underwater or changing maps etc. Even if you play on native it loads everything again to native for some reason. You can get to that skill point by going in to the Nightmare Court questing area. Go north from Spiral waypoint until you get to the NPC called Warden Spy Alarin. Talk to him to gain entrance, skill point is up a ramp in the camp. Good luck
