Guildwars 1 did NOT have a precedent of always giving a free character slot with it’s non-stand alone expansions.

The Campaigns added free character slots because they were stand alone. The Eye of the North was an expansion, was not stand alone and did not add a free character slot.

Only the stand alone products added character slots because if they didn’t, how could someone who only bought Nightfall play the game?

Actually you are wrong, Eye of the North did gave people 2 free characters slots,
I bought prophecies (4 slots) then factions (2 slots) then nightfall (2 slots) then GWEN (0 slots) = 8 slots, because the base total was 8 slots, but if you bought prophecies (4) and then skip to GWEN (2) you’d have 6 slots and then end up decidind to buy factions and nightfall, the last one would give you 0 slots!

In sum, the slots in gw1 would be 4+2+2+0 in whichever order you bought the games, expect GWEN could not be the first one because it was an expansion

I have the same problem, my daylies dont refresh, i enter the game and every day it appears 3/5 daylies complete, always the same ones, first day this happened i thought that someone was playing on my account but then i figured it was just an annoying bug

yes, i know that it seems to be my only option, i do soloq but, sometimes i get home late and just want to do 2 or 3 quick matches for fun and now it seems impossible, soloq i do it more when i have time and that doesn’t always happen unfortunately

I am here to criticize the system, and i will try to be as constructive as possible, and ask for the following post to be constructive as well.

Hot join is not working the way it is now, i know i am not the best pvp player in the world( maybe a bit above average), but it is not about skill because even a very great player cant carry a team against 5 good players.

There’s almost always these 2 scenarios:

1. there are 3vs2 or 4vs3 and 3+ people in spectate to join the best team.
2. there is always a huge gap in the score.

Why? of course no one wants to lose but instead of playing the game to win, people just wait to join the winning side, and the teams finally get full when the score is at 200-50, at this point, since there isnt much coordination in hot join, the losing side always sees one or another player leaving because of the feeling that there is just no point in the fight anymore that will always result in an even bigger gap in score.

Personnally if the map isnt legacy of the foefire, its hard to make a comeback, and even if the losing side has a great player, and all the others have the same skill as the winning team, its impossible for comebacks.

So all we see is people waiting to get to the winning team and its gg. And this will happen even more because more people will feel forced to do this aswell.

Of course this has fixing and i dont know if everyone feels the way I do, but if Anet decides that this system needs improvement, here are my suggestions:

1. This one would require less change to the current system, and is very simple. When you enter an hot join, you have X seconds (15 or 20 seconds for instance) to join the match, and if you don’t, you would be forced to spectate until the end of the current match. (of course you could still change to other server and join a match there).

2. Make it so you have to chose between join random or to spectate, but don’t let people see how many players there are in each team or the scores until they chose one option.

3. If you chose to let them chose the team, don’t let them see scores and people on each team. Making people unable to join the match for 5 minutes on that specific server if they chose to spectate would be great to prevent them from watching how the match was, and then return later to join.

If you feel that the system isn’t or is working fine post here your opinion to compare some points of view

and again please be construtive, for a friendly discussion, in consideration for devs, and for the sake of our community.

Agreed! i hate that i have to get back to vigil keep just to deposite some stuff like tomes or skill points that i want to use on other chars, the same goes for the mystic forge since i am always getting back to the keep to craft mystic salvage kits!

Since now we have no bondaries between pvp and pve items, it only makes sense that they add a bank and put the mystic forge and even a trading post in heart of the mists!

i dont know why not anyone think of that but there’s still time to add them

As you can see there are no announces on weekends and also there is not one in march 25, which is tuesday, when the next week release is usually announced, (maybe they will announce SAB this day).

Also there aren’t announcs march 31 (probably a take a break monday and preparations for the next day release, April 1, which doesnt appear in the schedule as well, and is a tuesday, which means patch day and probably SAB day! This is all speculations of course, and maybe a bit of SAB addition of me, but it really looks like its coming!!!

Expansion MIGHT (BIG IF) be underway!

Collaborative Development Topic- Living World

hi everyone!

i’ve really come to enjoy the living world concept, but looking at the GW2 game as a whole, arenet can do so much better!

you create interesting plots and different stuff every 2 weeks which is great in my opinion but the stuff there is to do is pretty much the same, for example in scarlet update there were the invasions, in this tower update the there are those toxic offshots, and everything know revolves around it.. i’m suggesting that you guys expand the time between releases, make it 1 month perphaps, and also add more diversity in each update

So, priorities are, in my point of view, of course:

1 – more diverse events, stuff to do in each update
2 – 1 month between releases, if you can make loots of different stuff every 2 weeks even better
3 – the meta achiev rewards need to be meaningfull like in this tower of mad update!

In the future:

- you create good plot stories, but not everytime know how to proceed from there, try to work on that
- the game has an awesome background lore that you could use in the living world
- if possible, those skin rewards we get from meta achiev stay in the Achievement panel like the zenith weapons.. im not asking for it to have infinite uses, just think people like to keep them all and it takes a lot of space from the vault, so it should be stored somewhere else until we use it.

thks for reading, this is my first post ever in 7 years of gw/gw2 hehe, just trying to be helpfull here, not complaining or anything because this is by far the best MMo theres out there..as for PVP and other aspects of the game, theres no need to say much, especially in pvp cause its very well balanced, for such a young game and of course, the mecanhics of each class are awesome!
