How very awesome. So I been using the 306.97 Driver and everything was fine then I started getting some 10-15secs lockup with a long buzzing sound after the 2nd to last patch from Anet. I thought maybe I needa update my driver to the lastest which is the 310. So i did. and guess what I cant even see my character select screen now. All there is music and the hand with a black screen…..cant even alt tab or windows key, only alt tab delete and MUST end gw2 process or the hand ends up on OS window. I already tried doing a clean install for 310 too but I guess GW2 dont work with 310 yet??

First of all Server has nothing to do with your fan kicking in etc etc. But if you just had noticed that all 4 cores are working harder than before then its because the latest 2 patchs are working to push those that have better processors with 4cores. Before even if we had 4 cores only like 2 would be pushed and stressed. now with the last 2 patches it seems to smooth out and all 4 cores seem to work. But if you worried about dmging your pc, I run something like Amarinth said HWmonitor and see what your temps are like when playing GW2. I myself run the I7 960 at 3.2ghz unclocked and Gw2 gives me a good 60-72C on my cores. Sure I would love it to be cooler but its no worries at those temps until I hit 90s. Then there is really something wrong.

Retro, your system looks nice. Except that HD. try defrag it, try to run some scans and see if you got any bad sectors etc on it. I too have a 2TB fairly new, but also tested GW2 on a 60SSD and man! the speed was a lot better loading between WP and zones. Also the latest patch seems to work the cpu more, I noticed all 4 of mine running around the same with temps hitting 60-72 on all four. usually it was only 2 cores ever reaching such numbers. I think anet is trying to smooth out the game but yet push hardware more. If you got the money sitting around… try a SSD. If no improvement can always return it…

I have never “really” disconnected from the game and when I do its usually my ISP acting up. Having a fast internet dont mean &*%#@$ if the line has gone bad.

I dont really have a fps issue but the latest patch have given me some in-game lock ups for 10-15secs with a bad audio sound. This had only happened with the latest patch.

(BTW my frames are with me constantly moving. If I stand still well idk, times everything by 2 I suppose.)

Im sorry to say that system is indeed old, its best to build something new! with the upcoming holiday season; maybe you can get a new system for cheap. Gw2 will only get better and better and be pushing hardware more.

are you experiencing this with other games?

From what I read it have this working, you must run in 32bit? is that true? I really dont want to reinstall the game or anything. Is there a workaround?

try running -repair like it says. If that dont fix it. Idk.

I highly doubt there will be any direct binding ingame, Anet doesnt want the game to play any easier than it already is probably. If they do allow “direct binding” then if one has a better mouse, they “might” have a better advanatge over someone who doesnt.

Problem is i think you will be punished if Anet finds no botting there and instead says you are abusing the system of reporting and get banned. Now that would be dumb for helping out the community in ridding away botters.

ok this is totally whacked and wrong and making me wanna hurt somebody. i been getting dc and modem resets connection failures since 2 weeks ago. what is gw2 doing to my internet?? its breaking everything. I had my ISP give me a brand new modem/router, I had them change my wires that come down from the pole because the tech who came understanded my frustration playing a game and getting discconected everyone few minutes or hours randomly. Maybe anet is just patching too much stuff stealthly and they need to tell the many ISP out there if its compatible with the ISP servers!!? i dont know, but im losing my mind here!!!! fix this crisis, yes crisis. I am having another TECH visit this coming tues to further check my land lines and everything AGAIN!!

I had these issues since beta, they seem to vary by time of day too. its very odd. but in beta my system technically hangs and crashes. Idk but i feel that it has to do with people doing their personal story, because that bandit cave is a part of the personal story areas for some and it could be conflicting with the real world….

dont use it!!!, your gonna have to pay for that gold!

Sorry to say but if I was Anet I wouldnt give you a penny back if those were your reasons.

people like to use all sorts of things, just dont cry when you get hacked.

So I was simply playing the game, and received a Password error message. The game I believe crashed or disconnected from server. Couldnt log in after for maybe a minute. Anyone else got this error?
