It matters folks… a lot. Instead of trying to solve all of the problems, why not attack it using the 80% rule. Providing a way to change the colors of the “red telegraphs” might just bring back a large number of players who have given up on GW.

I’m bringing up this topic (again) because it really needs to be addressed. When, oh when will the good folks at ArenaNet finally throw the color-blind folks a bone and give them the ability to set the colors for things like say… the big freakin’ red circles that telegraph an incoming attack? I’m not asking for a miracle here. And I’m not even asking for me since I’m not even color-blind.
Do you folks realize how many folks stopped playing the game because they cannot see red? I’m quite certain there are more than you realize.
Please make this part of the HoT expansion… please, please, please.
Ok, I had every skill unlocked for all 5 of my level 80 characters and now Anet wants me to unlock them again?!
Nice one Anet.
It’s crap like this that is making me seriously consider not purchasing HoT.
Yeah, Anet nerfed the crap out of condi-necros and I’ve been looking for a more powerful build for a while now.
Ascii,
I’m resurrecting this post to see what your thoughts are with the April 15th patch. What adjustments have you made to accommodate the mass changes with the latest patch?
Ascii,
I’ve been playing a full condition necro for quite a while now and with the latest round of nerfs, I’m very seriously considering switching my build. My question is: what is the “play style” of your Well-o-mancer build? Meaning: Can you describe what weapon/utility combos/progressions you use (and why) and under what circumstances you use them?

I’m leaning toward the convenience factor. I play quite a bit of WvW and it is easy to fill inventory with a ton of items to salvage.
C’mon Anet, give us the low-down… puhleez
I’m still on the fence myself. It’d be very convenient, but if it is truly using the “Basic” stats, it wouldn’t be worth the cost in gems. Hopefully Anet can shed some light here.
:looks around to see if any Anet folks are paying attention:
I’ve seen a LOT of confusion as to the true stats for the CF SoM. My understanding based on the item’s in-game description is it has the same stats as a Basic Salvage Kit. According to the following update to the Wiki, the August 26, 2013 update changed the rarity of the kit to Rare and it started acting like a Master Salvage Kit. I’m interested in grabbing one but I’m a bit reluctant to do so without knowing exactly what I’m buying.
Can one of the good folks at Anet give us accurate stats on this item?
Pretty Please :o)
“Originally the item was Basic rarity and functioned exactly like a Basic Salvage Kit, however after the 26 November 2013 game update, the rarity was changed to Rare and users reported that it began functioning like a Master’s Salvage Kit instead.1 The description remains unchanged, and it is uncertain if this is intentional behaviour.”
Throw another shrimp on the barby… bugged for me too.
Update: I went back in and restarted the Kiel instance at tier 1, completed tier 1 and proceeded to tier 2. I completed tier 2 and got the achievement. So that’s the trick folks, in case anyone is following this thread.
The big problem is you can’t get the achievement points for tiers 1/2 if you don’t choose correctly.
Let me elaborate…
I started with Gnashblade and completed tier 1. I re-ran the trial and was prompted to either: (a) “bring it up a notch”, or (b) “stay where I am” (not the exact wording). Two options with the somewhat obvious option for tier 2 being “bring it up a notch”. So, knowing I had to complete tier 2 to get the achievement points, I chose “bring it up a notch”. With tiers 1 and 2 completed for Gnashblade, I was able to get the achievement points for those 2 tiers.
I then moved on to try to complete tiers 1 and 2 for Kiel. When entering the instance, I was prompted with three options. Not knowing exactly which option was tier 1, I chose the middle option figuring it would be the starting tier. Unfortunately, it was tier 2. The real problem is this; by starting the candidate trials at tier 2, I am now permanently unable to complete tier 1 and will not be able to get the achievement points for tiers 1 and 2.
This is a horrible design decision in my opinion. This prevents players from completing tiers 1 and 2 just because they selected an incorrect option in a rather confusing interface. Why prevent someone from completing the tiers out of order? This makes zero sense.

Please update the Candidate Trials “tier” system to allow characters to play lower level tiers and get the achievement credit for those tiers. Your current set up is confusing. For example: if I complete the “Gnashblade” tiers 1 and 2 and then proceed to complete the “Kiel” tiers, the obvious (and probably most often chosen) selection is to continue with the current tier (which in this case is tier 2 since that is the most recent tier completed). Starting “Kiel” at tier 2 prevents me from completing “Kiel” tier 1 for the achievement. I must now complete “Kiel” tier 3 for the achievement. This design decision penalizes players who mistakenly select the wrong starting tier for a candidate trial.
Wow, didn’t even notice the Ele skill. Gotta pay attention to the Wiki a bit better.
“Stop, drop and roll”
Isn’t that what we learned in school?
Just sayin’
(I hope I don’t get banned for this)
