From the dungeons I have been into,I really doubt that. (There are dungeons I haven’t been into and MAYBE some professions can do that, but I doubt there are any soloable by Mesmer)
I don’t know about you,but they have done alot in this patch. Even if you are not underwater 24/7,it’s nice that you can do atleast something while being in the sea. And There are people who use fireball and have 30 points in fire. Giving fall damage reduction-trait to us just puts us in same position with many other classes and bolt to the heart isn’t that bad either. And air signet wasn’t totally useless either: it’s aoe blind is pretty nice in some situations and increased movement speed via that is nice.
I have tried dozens of different builds,different gear sets and kitten,and I can tell that elementalist is way too OP. How I love that feel when I can kill 1 risen in 10 secs ,when my buddy rogue takes 2 risens in 5 secs. Not to mention guardians soloing 10 mobs at once in same amount of time I can take down 1.
Why elementalist’s underwater arsenal is so weak!
Have anyone actually tried to create elementalist being able to tank.I made myself now 30earth/30water/10arca build. I made full green level 80 cleric’s gear with cleric gems. And I do take much less damage,and I actually have more armour then some of my warrior and guardian buddies. And they use some defensive traits and items.
When I use my water attunement,I get some passive regeneration which actually heals also everyone around me (only 150 per tick).If I use signet of restoration,I get 300+ healing per cast and 20 sec CD healing ability. I can get my cantrips to come off CD faster and give me some regeneration,signet of earth gives me 90 toughness and ability to immobilize enemy. Elites are more or less useless. From earth attunement I get less signet CD and they remain their passive abilities even if I use them,so they make my healing signet pretty useful.
Yet I haven’t decided what sort of weapon type to use. In big mob groups with ranger and melee enemies focus can be pretty useful,scepter can give you some more range capabilities. But if I use focus,I get 1 less healing skill,and scepter’s healing skill has 30 sec CD. Daggers do have some nice auras to aid,lot of more damage and AOE damage and 2 healing skills in water attunement,seemed to work in soloing much better. Staff on the other hand gives me lot of combo field to assist groups and auto-attacks in water attunement heal allies next to mob I am shooting for 500 each time I hit the mob,can also be used if I am next to mob to heal myself a little bit more.
Have anyone tried anything of this type or have any suggestions? Trying to decide wether to make cleric’s exotic gear or something with more dps.
Well,I have actually found staff to suit me best while leveling and doing dungeons,but now I’m thinking of doing some sort of elementalist tank with full cleric gear and such,will see how that works out. I know it will be huge dps loss,but considering the fact that I find myself way too often laying dead on the ground…So far I got full green level 80 cleric gear and it’s not that good. I still do get hit hard sometimes and healing isn’t as good as what some other classes have.
