I agree with most of the Elementalist changes, and the objective that you’ve tried to achieve.

BUT (there is always one) I strongly disagree with the changes you have proposed to the Water Trait line. By moving BOTH the Aquamancer’s Alacrity and Soothring Disruption skills to the Master trait line, it means we will not be able to use both of them as well as Cleansing Water in the Grandmaster line.

By making this one change, you will have nerfed one of the most popular WvW builds – the bunker cleric nuker. It’s one of the best ways used to spam regeneration and condition removal in WvW fights and it remains one of the things we rely upon. If you take away the ability to use all 3 traits together…

Please don’t do this. This is fundamental, class breaking stuff.

This is brutally unfair. I play on Piken and I’ve seen some pretty weird stuff going on around queues and server numbers. In past weeks (at reset) no more than 40 have spawned in the map before the queue popped for 2 hours. We’ve also had instances where the out manned buff has been active at the same time as a 30 minute queue. Something is very very wrong here.

Discussion : Fixes for WvW queues

in WvW

Bunny.6185

I agree, something needs to be done about this. It’s not a queue at all, it’s an RNG timer that lets you in whenever it feels like it. Every day there is someone new losing their temper because people who enter the queue after them have jumped in ahead.

The part that annoys me the most however is that there is a youtube video where some guy explains how to exploit the queue successfully, to get your whole team inside ahead of other people…and apparently it’s been like that since launch. It’s no wonder the rest of us who queue in the normal way can’t get inside, when there are methods to plainly ignore the queue.

Anyhoo, it would be nice to see this on the ‘fast tracked’ list of issues to be fixed….but perhaps after the “get servers that can cope with the game” issue. The lag this week makes the queue problem seem like spilled milk in comparison….

Level limit on rally & points in WvW please

in Suggestions

Posted by: Bunny.6185

Bunny.6185

Dear Arenanet,

Suggestion:
I would like to suggest that you update your ‘rally’ mechanic and ‘bloodlust’ mechanic in WvW for the following things:
a) allow players to rally only from killing those within (say) 10 levels below their own level
b) allow players to only gain points (bloodlust) from stomping those above (say) level 50

Reason for suggestion:
The recent patch has seen an influx of new players to WvW, which is creating an unworkable ‘rally bot’ issue. A ‘rally bot’ is a term used to describe a player who is unskilled in WvW and does nothing but die, repeatedly rallying the enemy during medium to large scale fights.

Whilst it’s difficult to correct the issue completely, as unskilled players exist at all levels, my suggestion is directed toward those players who can be identified by their level. Since it is possible to enter WvW at any level, I believe this small change would go at least some way toward correcting the problem.

Lastly, there appears to be some exploitative player behavior following the introduction of the bloodlust points system, where players have been reported to ‘farm’ stomping points from low levels on spare accounts, in ‘secret locations’ in order to boost their server score. For this reason I suggest a level limit is applied.

Some servers are harder hit than others by the above issues, but there is a high risk of WvW player fatigue if no steps are taken to balance the effects of these two issues.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

MAJOR BUG! All 400 lvl crafting reset to ZERO

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Bunny.6185

Yeah previously made discoveries was the only thing supposed to be reset. Not deleting your entire crafting progress lol. I’ve gone back to support again on it, but kinda not holding my breath.

What’s funny is : my account still has the achievement unlocked called “Master Crafter” even though the character who unlocked the achievement has had several crafts reset. Lol go figure. At this point it looks like I have an impossible achievement, because of the bug.

I reported this via support and their response to me was that was ‘as intended’.

So basically, they don’t care. They reset all my hard earned progress in 3 entire crafts to zero and they think that’s totally fine…it’s utterly ridiculous. The patch does NOT say that crafts levelled to L400 will be reset to zero! I lost all the recipes I bought with gold, including my Legendary components. Each of those recipes are 10g each and I had more than one unlocked! I also spent the time buying every single Celestial recipe.

I honestly can’t believe the response to my support ticket. Do support not even understand their own patch notes? There is NO WAY this was as intended.

Hello,

I wish to report a MAJOR BUG in the last patch update.

Up until today, my character had level 400 reached in every single crafting profession. In addition to that I had bought and unlocked many MANY exotic recipes, including the rare Celestial recipes.

As from today, my Tailoring, Artificing and Weaponsmithing have all been reset to ZERO!! I still have the Master Crafter achievement, but you’ve reset all these crafts to zero and wiped all my progress completely!

Not only do you need to put back my progress (and no doubt countless other players) but you need to restore the unlocked recipes! Some of it cost me a lot of gold to buy, especially the Celestial recipes, and I shouldn’t have to pay for all of that again!

Please fix this and FAST!

Where's my birthday present? [Merged]

I am having the same problem.

I made 4 characters on the first day of the pre-launch last year, along with my boyfriend. He has received his gifts, but I haven’t. I haven’t deleted or remade those original 4 characters, and I checked using ‘/age’ and it says they are 12 months old.

There seems to be no logical reason not to have received the gifts yet.

Where are my birthday presents!?!

The Human fight is surely bugged. I followed a guide, beat the Asura / Sylvari first, then moved on to the Human. I followed the guide which said to spam bluff while you can’t heal etc, but as someone says above she can SPAM her special skill so you eventually die from having your bluffs punished. When I can only use mine once per match, I don’t think it’s fair that NPC’s can spam their skill?

But really this comes down to time and enjoyment. If I spent 3 hours trying, even after following a guide as carefully as I could, and still can’t do it….what on earth must other people be thinking?!

I’m not a terrible player either, so if it’s frustrating the likes of me – and I’m a very patient gamer, there must be countless others this has genuinely annoyed. My other half is one of them, he can’t do the Human/Char/Norn either and he’s a seasoned gamer….so really this needs to be fixed.

Would advise that Arenanet address this issue pronto.

Hello,

I would like to suggest to developers that, in future, they do not include achievements that are near to impossible to achieve. I find it completely unfair that those who completed the Belcher’s Bluff achievement line early (with the use of Peach Pie, which has since been removed) have the benefit of the achievement without the countless hours of grind against RNG that the rest of us now have to endure.

This is utterly bad form and I think the rest of us should be compensated somehow, as the reward is simply not relative to the effort. After 3 hours of trying today I’ve only managed to best the Asura and Sylvari. Surely this isn’t how the developers wanted this game to be? I’ve returned after 5 months of not playing GW2, and I want to be positive about the game again but this is….just not worth it.

Cheers

I just can’t do Giganticus. He’s too hard for me. My guild gave up on this dungeon, after no amount of practice seemed to matter. We got the process, the tactic, everything. But if that’s not difficult enough, he randomly bloody RESETS during the fight. Nobody was outside the room, and we were all alive attacking him….after 20 minutes got him down to 5% health and he RESET.

Unbelievable pile of badly coded rubbish, this dungeon is.

The thing I find most frustrating is that the ‘sneaking to the end undetected’ part of the challenge is a total and complete hoax.

We did the torches party by sneaking to the end, all totally stealthed as a guild team running Thieves, just to see if it could be done. After 10 attempts, I think we’ve pretty much proven that it is impossible to do. You get right to the end and the wall is there, even when they haven’t spotted you.

It’s a joke.

I’ve attempted path 3 of this dungeon so many times, wasted so many hours. I’ve tried VOIP co-ordination, leaving one mob alive, but for me all the mobs re-spawn even when you leave one alive. I find it too difficult to kill the mobs as a glass character anyway, so it makes no difference. I just die in the process.

Anyway, I’ve become utterly devoid of any motivation to keep trying on this path. Until they do something about it, I shan’t be bothering with it at all.

Hint Completion stuck at 81/82

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Bunny.6185

There appears to be a bug with the Hint Completion achievement track.

I have completed all 82 Hints that are listed in the Hint panel, as you can see from the attached screenshot. However, the achievement called “Hint Completion” is only showing 81/82 completion.

I can see some very very old posts around the forum about Hint Completion problems, although the problems those players were having seemed to be regarding specific hints that they hadn’t unlocked yet. My problem is a bit different, in that I have proven even unlocking every Hint in the game gives you no achievement.

I have waited a month or so before posting this, to see if it would be fixed but so far no dice. So I figure I should post about it on here after all…

I’d be grateful if someone could take a look and let us know when this will be fixed.

Cheers

I can confirm this. I am on Desolation server and the goggles at Loch Jezt are permanently missing, since the patch on 01 November.

It is currently impossible to complete 37/37 on the Diving Master title track because of this bug.

The real problem here is invisible enemies. Give their algorithms time to match servers properly.

I’m glad to see they are actively working on this, but I don’t envy the development teams task. I reckon this is an issue plaguing a lot of games. If there was an easy fix, we’d have seen it somehow.

I used to siege in Aion with clusters of players and, frankly, they didn’t solve it there either. They implemented a ‘work around’ at best, where you could turn off character rendering completely and just see the ‘names’ of players around you. It wasn’t ideal, but it was better than nothing.

So I wonder…

As an interim workaround, whilst looking for the all-singing-all-dancing solution, is it an option for Arenanet to make a change that allows character names to always be rendered, regardless of whether their character has been rendered yet? It would at least allow us some visibility and stop the accidental ‘leeroy’ moments when we run into a cluster of players we didn’t know were there.

Just my suggestion

100% world completion bug?

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Bunny.6185

Bunny.6185

I still think it is because of what I said on the previous page.

The title “Been There Done That” seems to be hard coded to the OLD total of 776 areas. When they patched to correct all the area totals to 747, it reduced for all the individual Explorer title tracks, but not for Been There Done That.

I can understand why it’s hard coded though. If it wasn’t, you would lose your title when they add new areas/content to the game. You don’t want that happening, so it makes sense that they have a fixed number against this title. But now I think it is out of alignment with the individual explorer tracks.

Would like to get some info from the devs on this.

@HomelessAvatar I have said it before, I think it is because of their patch which changed the total number of Explorable Areas to 747. It was originally 776. But I think the “Been There Done That” title, and the character load screens, are being driven by the original total of 776 areas (which was wrong!).

Bunny.6185

I’m afraid that’s not true Seth. I have personally proven that dungeons do not count toward the “Been There Done That” achievement track, as have others on the Wiki.

I believe I have found the answer to the 97% issue on “Been There Done That”.

The achievement track appears to look at 2 things:
(a) World Completion:
301 Tasks
507 Waypoints
717 Points of Interest
202 Skillpoints
266 Vistas

(b) All 5 Explorer achievement tracks
175 areas for Krytan Explorer
60 areas for Orr Explorer
165 areas for Maguuma Explorer
172 areas for Shiverpeak Explorer
175 areas for Ascalon Explorer

So why do you have only 97% of Been There Done That, when you achieve all of the above? Simplistically, it is a bug with the mathematics caused by a previous patch.

Some time ago, Arenanet implemented a patch which changed the number of “Areas” within the Explorer title tracks. Originally there were a total of 776 areas to discover, not a total of 747 as there are now. However, the maths for the “Been There Done That” appears to be still calculating from the original base of “776”. Also, it is being rounded down from 98% as you see in the character load screen, to 97% in game.

And thus, I believe we are stuck with this incomplete title until Arenanet fix it, to re-align this achievement with the changes they made to the Explorer tracks.

I hope this helps some folks to understand what’s going on here

The most commonly missed locations for Shiverpeaks are:

1. Griffonrook Run in Lornar’s Pass
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Griffonrook_Run

2. Lair of the Coil in Timberline Falls
Bottom right corner of the map.

Best thing to do is to count what you have in each zone.
172 = Hoelbrak (19) + Wayfarer Foothills (26) + Snowden Drifts (26) + Lornar’s Pass (24) + Dredgehaunt Cliffs (26) + Timberline Falls (27) + Frostgorge Sound (24)

I spent hours counting them all and found the missing one for me in Brisban Wildlands. It was called Auroras Remains and was VERY hard to spot on the map, as it doesn’t “line up” with the edge. So visually, you can overlook it.

Issues with the trading post: please post here [MERGED]

in Black Lion Trading Co

Posted by: Bunny.6185

Bunny.6185

Firstly, thank you for the detailed post on the TP Chris, it is helpful.

I do have an issue however, where I genuinely lost almost 3 gold, due to bugs with the Trading Post and I think Arenanet ought to compensate me. I say this because, I purchased the gold via Gems I paid for with real money.

The incident occurred last Saturday 1st September. The trading post finally came online and I was happily listing orders for things. I noticed my Orders didn’t appear in my list straight away, so often had to click several times before they seemed to ‘work’. Unfortunately, what I did not realise was that every single Order was on a ‘delay’ so within an hour or so after I had finished, I noticed that oddly….all my game money had gone. It didn’t take the money each time I clicked ‘Place Order’ either, so there was no way for me to tell multiple orders had been placed. Even after the money disappeared sometime later, there were still no Orders appearing in the TP so it confused me. Like many players, I couldn’t work out what had happened.

Before I had time to work it out, I was then disconnected from the game due to Network errors in the EU, and unable to log back in for some time. I’m sure you can see all this happening on my account on the 1st of September. By the time I logged in, all the delayed orders had been filled by players. Using your very simplified example : I wanted 200 Apples, but ended up with 2,000, due to multiple delayed Order placement in the TP.

As there were no ‘health warnings’ placed on using the Trading Post on the 1st of September, I believe this is a form of mis-selling. Since I have paid real money to buy game money from Arenanet, which has been taken from me due to no fault of my own, you are in fact required to correct the error or refund my real money under the Sale of Goods Act.

I have raised a ticket about the issue, however haven’t even been dignified with a response from support. I’d be grateful for your good guidance here please, else I will need to take measures to obtain my refund in another way (i.e. by reversing charges).

In the meantime, I have tried to sell as much of the excess materials I ended up with, in order to reduce the deficit caused by this error. Unfortunately, I have not been able to break even against the original 3 gold lost, however I have reduced it to an amount of 1 gold. It’s not the amount of game money that bothers me here though, rather it is the principle of the matter. You cannot claim no fault here and I would like a clear answer as to how you intend to put this right.

Regards

Bunny

How best to report in-game phishing attempts?

To be clear, my question is about phishing attempts – as in people impersonating Arenanet staff in the game itself, in order to gain control of people’s accounts.

How best to report in-game phishing attempts?

in Account & Technical Support

Posted by: Bunny.6185

Bunny.6185

I apologise if this is in the wrong place, however I’ve taken my best educated guess.

I have a question regarding how best Arenanet would like to hear about phishing attempts in-game, particularly from people pretending to be GM’s.

Someone ‘pretending’ to be an Arenanet GM mailed me in-game. It was the usual stuff, they spouted a message at me saying my account would be banned if I didn’t visit the link they provide. Their name had included the letters GM somehow, and of course the link they gave was a few letters shy of being the real deal.

I (of course) used the in-game report feature and reported them under ‘scamming’.

My question is: Is the action I took sufficient? Or would Arenanet prefer these to be raised in another way? I ask because, if it were me, I would want to get the banhammer onto these people quickly before they can do damage.

Grateful for some guidance here please

Bunny
