I Just searched Guild Wars 2 artwork on ebay and it came up. He definitely is selling prints of fan-art he finds on the internet. Assuming the artwork was originally pulled from a site such as DeviantArt, there would have been a copyright / usage statement added when it was posted, and the owner of the original works should be able to take action on that basis. The pieces featuring compositions of ArenaNet Media kit elements would certainly be ArenaNets property.

Dear ANet,

I picked my Wintersday gift in Lions Arch as I had no idea the other even existed at the time (and I am fairly certain there wasn’t any text or indication of another option). I would very much prefer to have the PvP version instead. It is extra unique being its the only back-piece available in sPvP, and that is where I spend the majority of my in-game time. Could you perhaps make it available on the glory vendors for a short time? Or make it possible to trade my PvE version for it?

Ascended and infusion rewards will be available in both PvE and WvW over time, and be made available through all sorts of content around the world including existing content. PvP will remain unaffected to ensure our intended PvP balance going forward. We are also working on other reward and progression systems for the game that tie into current and new content and features.

I don’t like to just generalize concerns as such, but there seems so be a massive L2P issue here. This game is not others you have played. This game is not balanced around 1v1 however despite some relatively small adjustments I think its pretty decent even in that sense. The main issue seems to stem from the lack of comprehension of the meta game that has stemmed perhaps from the hot join play that makes up so much of the pvp that people have experienced.

I hear “guardians are over powered because they are too defensive” which I assume doesn’t mean people are getting solo destroyed by one (unless they are bad), but more likely that the guardian was able to hold the player off until more of their team members arrived – at which point said player got nuked. Working as intended. Guardians are extremely susceptible to bleeds and conditions and until more players take the meta game into consideration when choosing their spec (which will likely always feel less rewarding choice in hot join) then there will always be specs that go more commonly un-countered.

Speaking of thieves, they are purely glass cannon, as they should be. Are they more easily successful in hot join – where everyone burns every defensive ability they have in a mad rush to get a stomp off? yes. But again, working as intended. If played against correctly, thieves can be killed just as quick as they can kill.
I hope that with the addition of duels or some feature that would allow players to more directly explore the potential of their class, that some of these things will come to light.

This being said, I dont think it woud be a bad idea at all to limit tourney play to one of each class per team. It would only serve to increase the utilization of potential across all classes, and heighten the meta game.

That might work pretty well to alleviate many balance concerns/complaints. It would also serve to increase the ‘reward’ for investing the time to max out the potential of lower ‘risk/reward’ classes.

Umm, don’t they randomly reassign teams as you rotate through/switch maps in sPvP already?

I could be wrong but Im pretty sure it just balances the teams to account for the people that left at the previous games conclusion.

If you put a in a quitting penalty, then do you play on indefinitely? Obviously the ability to opt-out of continuing after a map is completed would need to be added. Furthermore, how about instances such as when you join a game using ‘Play Now’ and it turns out to be just you in the game? I agree there needs to be some incentive to stay, but I think it needs to be thought through further to really make this game as revolutionary and awesome as it could be.

IMO: as hot-join sPvP is to be made so you can’t party in w/ friends anyways, many problems w/ team balance could be solved by randomly reassigning the teams with every new map. This way you wouldn’t be locked into a one sided run of losses therefor reducing the desire to jump out of a game to maximize the glory return on your playtime. I realize that winning does not necessarily increase your ability to earn glory however in heavily one-sided matches the opportunity to earn kill points exc. is somewhat diminished.

Another idea would to be to award a total amount of bonus points (at the end of a match) to each member of both teams, determined by placement within ones own team. The total number of available points would be the same for each side and each team would draw from this preset value. At conclusion, the bonus point distribution to each player would be determined by adding up the total amount of points earned on each team, and rewarding each player with the % of the bonus cache equal the the % of his or hers contribution to the team total.

I know that these are not perfect either, however I believe that GW2 would be best served in the long run by avoiding hasty fixes for age-old problems when there is so much opportunity to do something that adds value and or incentive while at the same time fixing or at very least alleviating many of the obvious symptoms of the issue.

If you un-equip the piece you should be able to re-deposit it, however it will strip whatever runes you put in it.
