I’ve looked around for this problem on the forums but I can’t seem to find anything like it. I got a new laptop and am looking to install GW2 on it but every time I go to install it gets so far then crashes and asks if I want to send a report to Anet.
I’ve tried the various methods of renaming the file to just “GW2.exe” and running in administrator mode to even the fix where you type “netsh winsock reset” into the command window.
I get to various stages before it crashes, but most mysteriously is that I successfully installed it once and it ran perfectly. I closed the game, thinking all was good and went to bed. Turned on my laptop the next day and the game was gone. No trace of it being installed whatsoever.
Last few tries its come up with; “Connection error(s) detected. Retrying…”
I’m trying it once more, it’s even gone to the actual log in screen and is installing at the bottom, but I’m not hopeful because even if it does install it might be deleted again somehow.
Has this happened to anyone else? If it crashes again I’ll try and get the error report.
