Still waiting for the absolute destiny apocalypse
This matters to me as well. We have a small guild populated by close friends and family. We value our guild, and the exclusive membership. We’ve been really excited by the idea that we could win our way into a place to call our own, but more recently I’ve been worried precisely that this content will not be for us, but only for guilds with large memberships.
If that is indeed the case, I don’t really understand the rationale. So I’m hoping that I’m wrong about those impressions.
traits are the same? (idk what class you play, but most necro traits arent the same.)
Really? None of the names and broad bushstroke effects of the Traits I’m using on my Necro have changed… Reaper’s Might, Spectral Mastery, Reaper’s Precision… etc. – these are the same Traits I had last month, did yours all change names? Sure, the details may have changed, but what they focus on is pretty much the same.
My beef is just that when I logged on after the changes I had to go through and work out all over what the selection I had was for each of my level 80 characters. No, this wasn’t a massive hardship, but I can’t understand why they couldn’t have retained the characters’ list of Traits during the update. Why make everyone re-assign all the Traits for all their level 80 characters?
Out of all the complaints about this trait system, This is the least bothersome thing about it.
No argument. But is is yet another detail that could have, and perhaps should have been done better. Which I thought was what this thread was for.
Surely it wouldn’t have been too hard to leave existing Traits in place for existing characters? Having to work out what I had set up for each of my high level characters hasn’t made me a happy player. Even an in-game email reminding me what Traits each character had would have been helpful, and given that most/many (?) traits are the same, would it have been bad to leave them selected for pre-existing characters?
An impressive amount of work has been done here, and the whole team should be proud. I’m sure the problems will be sorted. Excellent stuff.
Just to add to the feedback:
I am quite disappointed with the changes to the Transmutation system – I spend a great proportion of my (very enjoyable) time playing characters well under level 80, and feel strongly about being able to craft their looks to express their characters. In order to keep doing that I will have to spend 3x as many of a resource which was already somewhat limited (from my perspective).
Additionally, some of what I’m reading above about utilizing Runes from armor pieces which are out-levelled has me very concerned indeed.
All of this in an economic environment which I was led to believe would reward PvE play with less cash-in-hand.
I have consistently spent real money on additional character slots, and increases in the size of my bank. I will not, however, be led into spending so that I can change the look of my characters. I will simply end up not playing as much, when I don’t feel the game supports my desire to express my characters’ individual nature.
I love this game; it has been near-perfect to my mind. But these (minor detail) changes have done far more to dampen my enthusiasm than I thought possible. I would ask that the developers consider the changes and see if alterations are viable.
i dont know if this is just coincidental but when I forced the process gw2.exe closed from Task manager I got in immediately on the next try…. probalby just luck.
It helped. Thanks.
Didn’t help me (tried it three times, after trying to just restart the client half a dozen times, and rebooting my machine). I suspect it is random.
Well, blow me down.
South EAST of the hunting lodge there is a Champion Queen Spider, and near her is a Juvenile (or there has been when I have gone there). It is half way to the Bettletun Waterworks from the lodge. Easy to find, and not either of the ridges I was looking at, which were much more densely populated with spiders.
I’m less concerned about the locations, which I have found on the wiki, than I am that perhaps there are things that I should be doing to ensure that I give myself the best chance to find the appropriate creature there.
Perhaps it is, as I’ve been figuring, just a matter to getting lucky.
I have a human Ranger in the Queensdale area. I’ve been hoping to find a Forest Spider to take on as a pet, and have been searching around for a few hours now (perhaps from levels 8-12?). Mostly I’ve been in the most spider dense areas somewhat near the Hunting Lodge, there is one near the loggers which also has wasps, and another which has webs in the trees and lots of hatchlings. I’ve seen lots of spiders, but none of them have been Juvenile.
I wonder whether I’m doing something wrong, or looking in the wrong places?
Or perhaps the spawns for charmable creatures are quite infrequent? I’ve seen several Juvenile Drakes in my travels (and charmed one).
Any advice would be appreciated!
