Amount of cloth for ascended armor?

From the HoT release notes:

“To sync armor crafting with weapon crafting, and to help maintain the value of leather, masterwork, rare, and exotic inscriptions will now be crafted with patches made from leather and cloth. To account for the added leather cost, the amount of cloth required to make an insignia is reduced.”

While it mentions that masterwork, rare, and exotic inscriptions will require leather, it does not mention ascended crafting. However, at least in armorsmithing, elonian cords are now required along with the bolts of damask to make ascended insignias. The release notes also mention that the cloth cost for these insignias will be reduced, which is not the case for the ascended insignias. It now costs three damask and three cords to make an insignia, so the cloth cost has not been reduced at all. Is this oversight in the patch notes, or is the in-game amount incorrect?

On a different note – loving the expansion so far! Great work.

I’m with the OP. This spec looks pretty powerful and is going to fix a lot of the mobility/control issues that guardians lacked. Plus, viable condi builds? It’s pretty much everything we’ve been asking for. Good work Anet

Good points, but maybe she is in hiding for a reason that hasn’t been revealed to us yet. If they’re not the same person, there appears to be a link between them to some extent. Too bad LS will be on vacation until the fall!

Countess Anise is clearly Livia.

I think this guy’s got it. The crack about Anise’s true age was the biggest hint, but also the fact that she has a habit of referring to everyone and everything as her “pet” makes her sound like a necromancer (like Livia is/was). She also wields a scepter – possibly the scepter of orr? I’m interested to see where this is going.

Improve Condition Damage for PVE

I’ve been searching through the forums about this problem recently, after trying to gear up my warrior for a condition build. There’s a lot of talk floating around concerning player-generated fixes, but not much has come from Arenanet about what their ideas are for fixing the issue. A lot of players have mentioned that reserving condition stacks for each player is a resource drain on the servers (though I can’t track down the dev post where this information came from), which seems like a legitimate problem. I did find a post from about seven months ago that says they are aware of the problem and are working on it.

That being said, I think it would be nice to have an update from the devs about recent progress on the issue. This is a big problem for a lot of players because it directly conflicts with the game’s combat design of traits, utility skills, and weapon skills that are meant to allow players to customize their combat experience. But when condition builds cease to become effective in anything larger than solo play, it forces players to change the way they want to play, which tends to put a damper on our happiness. These are the kinds of errors that turn into groups booting players for not having the right build and creates cookie cutter trait builds and group composition.

Arenanet: You guys have created a wonderful game with a unique world in a sea of shoddy MMOs. The constant stream of new content is downright impressive and keeps me coming back, but I would sure enjoy the new content (and old, too!) if I could be effective with something other than a 100 blades warrior build in group content. If you’ve made progress on conditions, please let us know! Or if there’s an update that I missed during my forum search, perhaps a knowledgeable player could point it out to us.

Norn Racial Skills problem

I’d be on board with the Norn racials getting a buff or a revamp. While you can argue that they’re not completely useless, the utility they do provide is very situational and not up to par with the other racial elites. Having you skill bar replaced with mediocre skills while deactivating your utility slots doesn’t exactly scream “elite” to me. I pretty sure my damage output actually drops when I shape-shift.

What I’m getting at is that I never find myself between a rock and a hard place shape-shifting to save the day, because in the end it just makes me die. A buff would be nice, or perhaps a racial skill that doesn’t involve shape-shifting.

Inspiring Banners: I’d like to reiterate that this trait does not apply the cooldown reduction when underwater. Banner cooldown remains 120 seconds underwater and 96 seconds on land.

Defy Pain: This trait does not seem to reliably activate endure pain, especially when taking large hits. For instance I could enter a boss fight and go from 75% to zero without endure pain activating. Is this intentional?
