Thanks for your suggestion, I’ll take it into consideration. Looks to be a decent server, although the WvW stats aren’t the best (in comparison to some of the others). I’m not yet sure how important WvW is going to be to me personally, depends on the rewards I suppose.

Hi, so I’m looking at joining an EU world so I can finally start playing this game. I’m aware there is a megaserver, and also know you are placed with members from your own world as a priority, along with friends and fellow guild members. I’ve read that some worlds have been taken over by an unofficial language, and that others are more competitive and/or elitist. There are also said to be more friendly worlds. I’m not stating any of this as fact, as I have no experience with this game.

As a player who is a native English speaker, and isn’t too fussed on PvP (although I’m planning to try WvW), does anyone have any suggestions for which world I should join? I like winning, but I’m not super competitive… I mostly just want to play this game and have fun doing it. Thanks.

That’s disappointing news, as playing in the NA region really wouldn’t work for either of us. My friend chose a specific German server based on where her old WoW guild members were playing… Thanks for the advice though.

Hello, this is my second post here today, and I hope that’s okay. I have been reading up about guilds and the megaserver system, and would like to confirm something. It seems guilds have a main server, but my understanding is you can join a guild with people from different servers. Is this correct? Say, my German friend’s home world was a German server, and mine was a different EU server. We would be able to play on the same map, but would we still be able to join the same guild, or have the rules changed? Thanks.

Thank you for your reply. Based on your response, I suppose I will have to join the German server she has joined, so we can play together as we planned. I don’t really mind, my main concern is the language barrier between myself and other players, also the possible ping issues.

Hello, I am new to this game, and am having a bit of trouble choosing a server. My German friend and I both purchased this game when it was on sale, and would like to play together. She is in a German server, but I am from New Zealand. I wanted to join a guild with her, but I am not sure what the best option for me is, as my German is not very good. I am also not sure how high my ping will be based on which server I choose, as my country is not close to Germany or America. I have read that you can guest on a server, but also that a large part of this game is about community. Would I be better off to guest on her server when we play, and join one with my native language? It’s either that or I join her server, join a guild with her, and guest on English servers when she is offline. Thoughts? Thanks.
