I fixed my version of this. What I did was go to Network and Sharing Center > Change Adapter Settings > Click on Properties of main connection > click on IPv4 and hit the properties button.

Once there, go to where it says DNS and change it to 8.8.8.8 and the alternate to 8.8.4.4. Hit Ok and try launching the game again. It updated straight through for me and launched the game.

I JUST SOLVED THE PROBLEM by connecting to the internet using my mobile hotspot. I explained this in the thread below.

Exact same problem here. My apartment PC as well as 3 of my parents’ PCs had exactly the same problem. I’m really not sure what’s the problem because we’ve been downloading patches just fine before and had no issues.

Sadly, those of us with phones who do not have the wifi output function or a hotspot are a bit screwed by this fix.

I am glad it worked for you though. It seems this has been happening quite a bit to people who are reinstalling the game.

I finally noticed a pattern. Ever since the one update, it failed to finish. It always stopped and said internet disconnet on 19 files remaining. Just now I downloaded what must have been a new update (it was around 133 files). Guess what? It downloaded those new files just fine, but when it reaches those 19 mystery files it suddenly disconnected.

I’m not sure if its the same for everyone, but I just can’t seem to download these last 19 files.

No One will ever compete with HoD as it stands, it is impossible, they have too many, basically all the ‘over night’ players/guilds. But really yheyre only effecting the top echelon of the PvP pyramid. The WvW problems run much deeper.

SBI is a good server, maybe the most organized. And if we were matched with any other servers we would blow them out too just like HoD does everyone, because it is about numbers.

I now dub you StormTear Eyesle. SBI has talent and some great WvW guilds but from my perspective as an opponent I note the following .

1. Using HoD’s 24/7 presence as an excuse for not competing – So you got excited having a point lead going into the week only to tear up when the HoD juggernaut went full force on Tuesday. So rather than man up the entire server cried foul. I would be embarrassed if I played on SBI.

2. Beating your chest as the “2nd” best server- StormTears forgets how many times JQ has kittened slapped your kitten going back to BWE. All the chest thumping and crotch rubbing for being “second” place. Grats on that second place. It is first place loser. 3. Using WM/Evil as a crutch-StormTear Eyesle is carried by WM/Evil. Dont be surprised when they drop your kitten for another server more appreciative.

SBI has great potential and I personally hope you continue to be a challenge for months to come but in my opinion StormTear Eyesle needed to be humbled.

I seem to remember earlier in this thread people complaining about SBI giving them the JQQ nickname. I also seem to remember the popular dislike of it and the animosity of the server. Yet here you are, doing the exact same thing when positions are reversed.

Until people grow up and live the kitten talking behind, the cycle of stupidity is just going to keep on turning. Leave the childish nicknames and insults in the schoolyard where they belong, and lets have fun playing GW2, aye?

Sigh…. yeah I know Prototype. I was too busy leveling my ele to 80 when the whole “JQQ” thing went down, and its not something I would have done personally. The whole back and forth kittenalking is what is getting me. It’s not the double teaming, or the night capping or anything (because those are a part of wvw). Its the countless kitten being talked.

Regardless of what people say, things on the forums here get circulated around the world servers and it DOES demoralize people or kitten them off. Ah well, maybe after this week the back and forth between JQ and SBI can stop and we can be on actual civil terms. Only time will tell.

Interesting, Kolly — that’s the first time I’ve seen green down on points during primetime for the whole matchup. They’ve been consistently ahead. When was that screenie from? (Looks old..considering points are much higher now, right?)

Well it would take 130ish cyles (37 hours) to catch up to HOD, so maybe they just arent worried. Theyll get it all back after JQ logs out.

JQ isn’t like SBI they dont log out and they dont turn tail and run when losing.

And here I was beginning to think the thread had turned to actual discussion and camaraderie instead of the kitten talking. Namu proved me wrong, of course.

The reason most of SBI is hitting JQ instead of HoD is because news of JQ’s smack-talking and jeering at SBI is finally making the rounds on the server. And people are understandably kitten about it. So they literally only see red (hoooooo) and go after JQ.

Some have been trying to get a team up going between JQ and SBI, as Judas said above, but people aren’t having it because A) They think JQ is going to stab them in the back at the drop of a hat and B) Because of all the jeering and smacktalking. So I’m not sure how this is going to go down.

They’re not, at least from what we’ve seen within the last hour. They’re working together now.

We have people doing the same to us on SBI side. Try to actually THINK before you make accusations. I know that’s hard….but try.

Sadly Zah, it seems alot of people who were disheartened about the night-capping are talking about not really trying this match-up so we can face new opponents. Seems quite a few people are tired of multiple things that go in this matchup and want fresh opponents instead of dealing with night-capping constantly.

Please be quiet, and hold your head underwater until you feel sleepy. You obviously have no clue what you’re talking about, if you claim SBI teams up with whatever server just to beat you. We don’t need another server for that, and we take pride in the fact that we don’t. How quickly you forget that your server faced the same allegations of teaming up with us, let alone all the other underhanded things your server has done.

I used to have alot of respect for HoD. But with people like this flapping their gums, that respect is starting to wane. So kindadrunk, please shut your mouth unless you have something useful to say.

I can only hope that if and when we do take first place, that the server transfer stop being free. I can live without the horrendous baddies and morons transferring from server to server just to be “Numbar 1z!”.

Can’t we all just have good fights and stop the server bashing? =/
