The only concrete news so far (i think )affecting old loot tables is that salvaging of blues/greens will be getting nerfed, so it might be better to open now.
But who knows, there might be new exotics or mats or w/e added, so yea, its definitely a gamble either way.
My main concern isn’t as much whether new items will be added, but where. They could have new items only in the loot tables for new champ bags dropped in the maguuma jungle, leaving the thousands of core game bags I have saved up out in the cold.
I’m pretty sure it has not been announced.
I’m gambling on a new loot table, but who knows?
Good luck.
Aye, and to you as well
Has it been confirmed or denied whether new materials and items introduced in Heart of Thorns will be added to the champion loot bag loot tables in any capacity? I follow the news relatively closely and haven’t been able to find a definitive yay or nay. I have quite a bit of bags saved up just in case, but with the salvage output reductions they have coming down the pipe, I’d rather open them pre-launch if there won’t be any new items.
Dunno how sensitive that information is, since the knowledge could affect the economy around champ bags very seriously, but if it’s out there or if it’s safe to reveal I’d love to know
Hi everyone!
We are Knights of the Dolyak [KD]. We are a relatively small, tight-knit group of players with a very developed sense of camaraderie and genuine love for Guild Wars 2. While we don’t actively recruit, we are always happy to bring on new players! What we have to offer is:
- A laid back atmosphere: no pressure to log in, represent, or do certain types of content. Each member plays how they want and when they want.
- PVX: We are all over the place in terms of gameplay. While we are primarily PvE, we have no rules as to what content our members are free to enjoy!
- Voice Chat: We are currently on the voice chat program Discord. Discord is free to download and use, and offers a very high level of functionality. Our core group is very active on Discord, and we always love having more people to chat with us!
- A Helpful Community: All of our members love helping other players. Should you need help with anything, all you need to do is ask, and if someone is free they will probably help you with whatever you need!
- A Friendly Community: One of our few rules is the standard “DBAA” (Google it). We offer a very positive game environment for any and all types of players, and the only types of players we do not tolerate are trolls, elitists, and those who are just plain unpleasant. Judgement of these standards is up to the guild as a whole, and the standard procedure when someone has an issue with someone else is to bring the issue to the attention of the officer core and then proceed from there.
- Guild Missions: We host Guild Missions every Sunday at 6 P.M. PST/ 9 P.M. EST, which are a lot of fun and strengthen our ability to work well together. Plus, the loot is fantastic!
- No Requirements: Apart from the previously mentioned “DBAA,” there are no barriers for entry in our guild. Brand new to the game? Great! Shoot me a PM in game and we’ll get you set up! Perhaps you’re a veteran player? No worries! A significant portion of our regulars are very experienced players who likely enjoy the same type of content you do! Whatever your level of experience, feel free to give us a try!
Before megaservers were a thing, we were based on Yak’s Bend, and this is generally the server we support in WvW. However, we currently have no server requirement for our guild, and currently house numerous members from a plethora of servers.
We are primarily active between 4 P.M. PST (7 P.M. EST) and 9 P.M. PST (12 A.M. EST) every day. Guild missions are at 6 P.M. PST every Sunday.
So if we sound like we might be a good fit for you, shoot me a PM either here on the forums or in game, and we’ll get you on board!

METAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL
@ArenaNet:
Have you guys considered buffing the immobilize on Glue Shot from 1 second up to 2 seconds? From someone who plays a dual pistol engineer as a main, this change is desperately needed. As it currently is, dual pistols are barely viable as a spec, and I know a lot of people that wish they were better because they’d really like to run dual pistols regularly.
Also, I don’t think it’s asking too much to buff the bleed duration on Explosive Shot. At 2 seconds, it’s absolutely pitiful (Yes I am aware that you can stack bleeds much better with grenades, but like I said, some of us want to use dual pistols). Making it harder to stack is fine, but 2 seconds is far too limiting. boosting the bleed to 4 or even 5 seconds would at least make dual pistols a viable alternative to grenades (yes, believe it or not, some of us are sick of grenades).
Very impressive, I would totally buy this!
Chapter 2: Preparation
Violette stirred in protest as sunlight shone mercilessly through her eyelids, preventing her from sleeping any longer. Groaning, she rolled groggily out of her small, comfortable bed and stumbled over to her chest of clothes. She pulled on a slim pair of leather trousers and a plain white shirt, deciding against donning her gear until she had set everything in order.
She breakfasted on a loaf of bread and some dried drake meat, then began to prepare for her mission. Striding over to a large wooden cabinet set into the wall, she pulled its doors open to reveal hundreds of bottles, all containing various colorful liquids and powders. Violette had concocted the mixtures herself, and was quite proud of her collection, as any engineer of her stature would be. The bottles tinkled gently as she ran a finger along the many rows, examining the labels. Finally, she plucked four bottles from the shelf and nestled them safely in one of her belt pouches. The first bottle contained a bright gold liquid that seemed to sparkle with energy. It had the letter “H” marked on the label. The second solution was deep purple, and was marked with the letter “B.” The third bottle contained a thin red liquid, and had “C” scrawled on it. The last bottle Violette deposited in the pouch was a fierce yellow, and was marked with a “U.” Gathering up the pouch, Violette placed it on the bed and proceeded over to a large wardrobe.
Inside the wardrobe was a finely crafted wooden mannequin, upon which was displayed a fantastic array of battle gear. The coat, which was cut off just below the breast, was white with black and red trim, and was studded with an array of amber gemstones. The bottom of the coat was a similarly revealing affair, covering only the right leg, and following the same color scheme. Hanging along the coat’s bottom half was an intricate sash adorned with small, decorative blades that hung just below another set of amber gems. The thin, white leggings had been crafted with a fine, strong mesh-like material that accentuated the legs while at the same to providing excellent mobility. Attached to the left shoulder of the coat was an odd sort of holster than contained three small knives, each honed to a razor sharp edge. After peeling each piece of her field outfit off of the mannequin and fitting them onto her own body, Violette examined her reflection in the large mirror set into the door of the wardrobe. She looked beautiful, her short hair falling just so about her stunning facial features and the unique cut of her clothing revealing the body she worked so hard to keep in excellent condition. However, she also looked deadly. The knives at her shoulder and the blades that swung at her hip whispered of death. Breathing a sigh of satisfaction, she pulled on her boots.
After she finished dressing, Violette crossed the room to the chest she kept at the foot of her bed, opening it to reveal an elaborately crafted belt. It was a strong, leather affair, short enough to fit around her slim form, and fitted with what must have been a dozen metal compartments, switches, and mechanical oddities. Violette smiled fondly at the tool belt as she buckled it around her waist. She then picked up the satchel full of mysterious elixirs and attached it to the belt as well. When she had adjusted the belt to her satisfaction, she knelt down and pressed a small button just underneath the lip of the chest’s lid. There was a soft clicking noise, and Violette reached inside the chest, pulling up the board that comprised its bottom. As soon as she pulled the board away, a radiant glow filled the room, and she squinted as she threw a hand up to shield her eyes. Inside the secret compartment rested a pair of odd looking pistols covered in buttons and switches. Beside them lay the objects from which the light emanated: a beautiful pair of brightly shining gauntlets. Picking up the gauntlets, Violette fitted a hand into each one, marveling at the completely flexible, shining material. The gloves had been a gift from the Queen, and they were virtually indestructible. Violette had spent many sleepless nights performing experiments on the fascinating gloves, but she was still unable to isolate their unique chemical properties. Picking up the pistols, she slid them into the holsters at her hips, grinning as she felt the weight of each gun in her hand. They had been through a lot together, her and her guns. Violette believed that when all else failed her, her guns never would.
Violette pushed open the door of her home, revealing the day to day hustle and bustle of the Salma District of Divinity’s reach. It had always been her home, and always would be. Breathing in the fresh air and familiar smells of her city, she set out to begin her mission.

There was originally a few paragraphs more to this chapter but due to character limit I had to shorten it. If you guys liked it, I’d be happy to continue it. If it was awful, please let me know! Thanks for reading!
The following is the beginning of a story that I created revolving around my characters in Guild Wars 2. None of this material is canonical to the Guild Wars universe in any way.
Chapter 1. Briefing
A full moon sparkled gently in the night sky, its dim beams enveloping the city of Divinity’s Reach in a subtle glow. Violette gazed at the bright orb through one of the small windows that lined the dimly lit hallway where she waited impatiently to be summoned. Countess Anise had been conversing with the Queen for nearly an hour, and Violette, not having the proper clearance to be privy to the conversation, had been forced to leave Anise’s office. Violette was an agent of the Shining Blade, and her rigid discipline would not allow her to show any outward sign of exasperation or indignation over being made to wait, regardless of how much it annoyed her. The Shining Blade were the Queen’s personal military force, serving as body guards, spies, and even assassins when necessary. Having served as a Shining Blade field operative for over six years, Violette had undertaken dozens of missions, and was unused to her briefing being postponed. Finally, the door swung open, and Anise stepped out to hold the door open for the Queen. Violette snapped to attention as the Queen exited Anise’s office, keeping her eyes locked on an unremarkable block of stone directly in front of her. As the Queen passed her, she nodded in Violette’s direction and said, “My apologies for the delay, Violette. There were urgent matters that required the Countess’ attention.”
Keeping her eyes averted, Violette responded hastily, “Thank you, your majesty, it was no trouble.”
The Queen smiled and continued down the hallway, her flowing white garments trailing lazily in her wake. Anise motioned to Violette without saying a word, and strode over to her desk. Violette entered the office quickly, shutting the door behind her. Settling into the comfortable chair behind the large oak desk, Anise addressed Violette in a calm yet authoritative tone, “As you are aware, the bandit threat is growing into something far greater than we anticipated. Farms in Queensdale and Kessex Hills are being pillaged on a regular basis, and the Seraph are too preoccupied with the centaurs to be of much help. Nor can the Ministry Guard be of any significant assistance, as they are mired in the politics of the nobility. I know this isn’t what you wanted to hear, but I have to deal with these bandits. The more they continue to grow, the greater the threat to the life of the Queen. The mission I have outlined won’t be easy, and I need someone experienced.”
Violette was barely able to keep her indignation from surfacing. Bandits? What did Anise take her for, a common mercenary? The very notion was an insult to her station. Fighting to keep her voice calm, Violette replied, “With all due respect, Countess, I did my share of bandit slaying when I was a rookie.”
Anise smiled wryly, “Then you’re the perfect one for the job.”
Violette struggled to keep her expression impassive as she nodded. The very prospect of dealing with bandits damaged her pride. Opening a compartment below her desk, Anise drew out several scrolls and began spreading them out on her desk, continuing the briefing as she did so, “Because this is such a serious threat, and because we are shorthanded at the moment, you’ll be working with the Order of Whispers on this one.”
At this, Violette couldn’t help but cut in, “Did you forget what happened last time you set me up with a Whispers agent? I barely made it out of there alive and as far as I’m aware the Order of Whispers has been unable to locate their agent!”
Anise sighed in exasperation and said, “No, Violette, I haven’t forgotten. What happened up in the Hinterlands was the product of bad intelligence, and you know I regret it as much as you.”
Violette raised her eyebrows and snorted in disbelief. Anise ignored her and pressed on, “You’ll be working with an Asura named Vixx. She has information on the target that the Order hasn’t shared with me.”
“An Asura? Exactly how much worse is this going to get? Did I do something? Is this a punishment?” Violette knew she was out of line, but she could not contain herself. Though she had not met very many Asura, she had found the few she had encountered to be less than pleasant company. Egotistical, insufferable, and insulting were the first three words that popped into Violette’s head when she thought of the Asura, and she did not relish the prospect of carrying out an entire mission in the company of one.
Anise’s tone grew stern as she replied, “You’ll do as your told and that’s that. You’ll be traveling to Claypool where you will rendezvous with Vixx. She’ll fill you in on the details there. Dismissed.”
Knowing there was nothing she could do, Violette gave a resigned salute and exited the office.
