Alright, guys. Thank you everyone for the quick & helpful responses. That said, you all made it sound a lot easier than it actually is. WHEN I am said and done my journey through (the large area known as) Fireheart Rise, I will let you know how it went & award the most helpful answer. But thank you once again.

I’d give us a ten for style. An eight for skill. And a two for stealth.

I’m just curious as to…
HOW do you expect players to GET TO that “Fixing The Blame” quest, Anet?

Right now I am trying to get to Snowridge Camp, in Frostgorge Sound, but I can’t get there because there are a bunch of lvl 79 & 80 enemies in my way! Am I missing something? A quest at this level (66) should not make you trudge through 80 territory. I thought this game was supposed to be solo-able. This is mind boggling to me.

Right now I’m a Level 76 Engineer, using all the crowd control I can, & I’m still getting defeated just trying to run through to the marked quest. I really would prefer to NOT have to reach max level, as that seems ridiculous to have to do just for this.

Any tips or information that can help me, I would much appreciate it. And if you can give me a good answer for how to do this solo -that does NOT include me having to level to 79 or 80- then I’ll definitely give you the answer tag.
Thanks in advance.

at last Anet worked on the guild roster :(

+1
This game is USUALLY pretty good at letting you know the INFO that you need to know. That is why it is LAME and unusual that the guild roster list is WORSE THAN YOUR FRIENDS LIST! I mean, AT LEAST YOUR FRIENDS LIST TELLS WHAT LEVEL EACH PLAYER/CHARACTER IS! GET ON IT, ANET!

PS. ANET, I still love you.

Whooooa. NOT cool, OP.
How about some SPOILER tags? Come on now. (It’s in the forum guidelines, too, by the way, just in case you think I’m being a jerk.)

Leaked Patch Notes Revealed: Truth

Well…looks like a picked a good time to start (or NOT start) a thief character. I was really looking forward to trying this class. I thought, “cool, I can use sword with thief, too;” but NOW, WHAT’S THE POINT?!

Call me crazy, but I like some room to experiment within a class. And basically limiting me to D/D or D/P is NOT my idea of a good time. It’s bad enough there aren’t many weapon choices for thief to begin with.

Effects of deleting character slot (question)

okay, I get it. But you knew what I meant. I wanted to make sure I used the word ‘slot’, though, because that’s associated with the log-in/log-on screen.

Anyways, thank you, sir Inculpatus.
And thanks for the extra tip on the character’s name (although I’ve never had a problem with my chosen character name being taken).

Effects of deleting character slot (question)

I’m just curious. What exactly happens when you delete one of your characters (to free up a character slot)? Do his/her gear and items disappear or do they go somewhere?

Mostly I’m just curious because it would be cool if all items and gear on the character went straight into your bank. That would save me a little time & effort, you know. So if anyone has experience with this, I’d love to know what happens with that. Thanks.

P.S. I didn’t see any posts on this, surprisingly, but if this was already asked, it didn’t come up in my search.

  • *DON’T READ ON UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE SPOILED *

Okay, so I’m at the point where I have to choose an ally havroun to join me in the spirit world. I can choose the Bear havroun or the Raven havroun. How much difference does your choice make here?? Is it a big difference??

Now please don’t tell me what happens I just want to know if this is mostly a cosmetic choice or if the story is actually different enough for me to put some thought into this.

More weapons ( skillsets get boring)

…Currently everyone is just using the same weapons and same skills which is a significant downgrade from what the skill system in GW1 used to use: Creativity. I know that means ArenaNet will have to come up with more available skills, but the current skill system is very uninspiring and repetitive.

BubbleTea, I like what you said there. You are on to something there. WHY do the skills have to be different when they’re used as the off-hand weapon? And then, WHY do we get NO CHOICE on those 2 skills? (even though we know there are 5 skills created for that weapon as a main.) Isn’t it bad enough that we only get 2 skills for that oh weapon? I think so.
Don’t get me wrong. I do think it’s cool that they made new skills for the oh version skills, BUT at the same time, (more) choices = play how you want, and playing how you want = more fun. So I say Anet should AT LEAST do that; make those changes, since it wouldn’t be that hard to do. The skills are already there.

Sword skills. I can't slash/pierce??

in Mesmer

I messed up, everyone. Allissah is right. I was confusing Greatsword with Sword. A regular sword DOES have some melee skills. I just got a little worked up when I saw the greatsword skills to the point I forgot what I had just watched previously in the video. I’m sorry, everyone, BUT…I still appreciate your input as it is all useful information. Therefore I will not delete this post.

Sword skills. I can't slash/pierce??

Hi. I’ve had this game for about 4 months & I just started playing an Asura as a Mesmer.
I’ve looked up some videos on swords skills and I’ve got to be honest, I’m disappointed. WHAT is the point of having a sword IF YOU CAN’T MELEE with it?? Am I missing something? Does it have melee skills when used as the offhand weapon?

Someone PLEASE explain this to me (respectfully, of course), because right now I’m shaking my head as to the logic of this.
