Great game with promising content to come. No reason to complain as you would pay nearly the same for a WoW expansion which has less content.
Firstly this is not WoW and if you read the the Warlords Of …. forums you’ll realise how badly the majority of the WoW faithful felt hard done by and utterly dissapointed at this expansion, especially for the money paid.
Anet doesn’t care About its current players, they rarely respond to posts take months to fix bugs or never. anet only cares about new players because there so good at making old ones leave. They need to restock the herd full of fanboy sheep
This is what we are complaining about as no one from A-net has officially answered on this thread.
AND,
When Heart Of Thorns was originally announced it was described as an expansion!
So for those who now say it is extra content, usually this is added FREE to those who already own the game OR should be offered at a lower price to vets either in cash or gems from the in game store.
So for those who have been ranting on about how fair this expansion, relaunch of GW2 or whatever it actually is, please read, digest and accept our points of view. AND please do find a different argument when answering as most of the replies have been the same old, laborious and tedious rant.
I shall look forward to reading, especially if someone from A-net can spread a little more light on what the expansion, new content or relaunch actually is and more importantly – when is it going to live? So come on A-net pull your finger out and tell us what we really want to know

At the end of the day it seems that a lot of us do not feel that this expansion will be value for money, especially as it may be a smaller expansion that GW1 Eye of the North.

You may want to read the article about the guild halls again because they are not forgetting about smaller guilds.[/quote]
Cheeky says,
I’ve read it again but perhaps you would like to enlighten us as to how small guilds can capture their guild hall with just a couple of players. I can’t wait to read your interpretation of that as you seem to have glanced over the main points in my original post. Perhaps Ayrilana.1396 you would take the time to read them again.
Many thanks.

I’ll just wait for the last expansion to be released, get my spare copy of the core game and all the previous expansions included.Mortifer replied,
Okay, see you in 12 years mateWhile waiting, I think I will have years of fun. But don’t worry, I will tell you about everything you missed.
Cheeky Wizard says,
OK Mortifer, some of us don’t think this game will be played in two years time let alone twelve. Still if you’re the last one on the server you can have as much fun as you like on your own mate
Well done to Mad Queen Malafide for the comparison between pre-ordering Nightfall and HoT
Also as a GW1 fan (all campaigns), I feel truly let down by the way this expansion has me hot under the collar regarding value for money, content and playability.
The one thing I now miss being part of a small fun guild is my heroes. What I would give for Koss and Co now in GW2. Perhaps then our guild would stand a small chance of capturing a guild hall perhaps.
However for those who were privileged to pre-order the GW1 campaigns with anticipation and the delight of exceeding all expectation when going live, are perhaps now holding back and dare I say it; probably give this expansion a miss and look elsewhere. Something I haven’t done for ten years, but perhaps a rest is as good as a change.
Why pre-order something you already have bought. We all have the core game, right? So I’ve decided to vote with my money! And here are my reasons,
I) Too expensive for an expansion in an age of austerity. There should have been just an expansion price – end of. New players could still have bought the core game separately.
2) Once again small guilds have not been considered. Our guild doesn’t even have enough players for guild missions and so on. So it’s just another kick in the teeth for small fun guilds and we’ve simply had enough of putting every effort into influence with very little return..
3) Pre-ordering before an announced live start date is like giving away £35/$50 into the heart of the mists. You know it’s coming but no one has no idea when. That is money that could be earning ME interest and not somebody else.
4) Is it actually worth it? I am wondering if this expansion will be about the same size if not smaller than Eye Of The North (GW1) ? If it is, then that will be very disappointing and a lot of players will be feeling down and depressed for the money paid. Not want you want to feel when a game is supposed to be fun.
5) Will I enjoy it? From what I hear from others – I don’t think so.
Mind you after listing my reasons for not pre-ordering, I am beginning to ask myself if I should bother with this expansion at all.
Please let me know what happens to my GW2 if i am unable to afford expansion pack but wish to carry on playing GW2
I can’t believe that this expansion is pricing players out of the game. This game is truly becoming an art for elitists. Not just in price but in in- game politics too.
My heart simply saddens the more I learn about Heart of Thorns, as these thorns have truly scratched this gaming community. This will become a thorn in everyone’s side.

Have 2 prices for the expansion!!!!
1 ) If you already own a copy of Guild Wars 2 and want the expansion – An Expansion pack for a reasonable price like with Eye Of The North on Guild wars 1.
2 ) For those joining the game at Heart Of The Thorns – The full price as that will include the core game.
Why should we pay for something we have already bought. Unless this becomes fairer, players will vote with their money and not bother either with this expansion or any other in the future !
Simples.

it was in the live stream. a small guild is ~15 players, anything smaller isn’t worth anet’s time.
Alternatively, if there had been alliances, we may have had a chance
I am in complete agreement here. Like many I was looking forward to the expansion until I found out that you need an army of guildies to capture your Guild Hall. Our guild is just four players who know each other personally and just play for fun, not the glory. Anet has let guilds like ours down. If this continues then I fear that as a GW1 player, GW2 will drive the small guilds out of the game. As there are a lot of small guilds, Anet will be the losers; not us.
Dear Gaile Gray,
Many thanks and gratefully appreciate your time and attention with this matter.
Kind regards,
Cheeky Wizard
I’m not going to buy another account for my friend because the original purchase is now nearly 9 hours ago and the day is almost done here and still no serial code. Seriously, for those who have had to wait there should be a few extras thrown in when they eventually get their codes.
Don’t worry ButterOfDeath.2873, my friend hasn’t received an update since they were able to submit a ticket. So hopefully this will be resolved sooner rather than later.
Hopefully Anet throw in a few goodies for the delay

If they can’t cope with a few new players today, how are they going to cope with a new expansion release with everyone buying it at the same time ?
Clean answers please

I think they are well bugged out today – congratulations on receiving a serial code with which to create an account
This an absolute disgrace!
After persuading a friend to play this game, they buy the digital heroic edition and receive an email that says thank you for your money and NO SERIAL CODE !!!!!
It’s worse than a phishing scam – get these serial codes out to the new players who have bought the game as soon as possible!
