Hey there. I havent encountered your issue but i would strongly advise you NOT to compress your hard drive. It effects performance so ive been told. Check your hdd for errors like the technical support suggested
Ill gradual increase and see where it takes me, im just scared ill screw it up again if i mess about too much, what is cuda umbra gpu if you dont mind me asking?
Ive got an e8400 3ghz core duo with 6 gig of ram and a gtx 260. I think the majority of people here are having trouble with their higher end cards. Dont get me wrong i dont have all my graphics options set high but to be honest it looks kitten fine on the resolution. Im not pushing my luck with medium or high settings, im quite happy with how it looks. Looking forward to actually playing it now!
I have been having problems with fps ever since the official launch of gw2. This isnt a magic fix but it worked for me. I thought that every time i did a custom install of my nvidia drivers it was a proper fresh install but reading on guru 3d’s website driversweeper was mentioned. I thought i would give it a go so i uninstalled the nvidia drivers, restarted in safe mode and ran driversweeper. I was amazed what nvidia files were still on there so i ran driversweeper and removed the rest of the files. After that i restarted in normal mode and did a fresh install of the very latest nvidia version files, restarted again, set my control panel to performance, power settings to max and single display and booted up gw2. Before i was dropping to 8fps when turning and moving but now have a steady 50fps. I could even bump up graphic settings in game and boost it a little. My rig is old but now i can play in 1920 and it looks and plays beautifully. Just try it for the giggles. I, like a lot of people on here were getting incredibly frustrated but now i can actually start playing properly. I really hope this helps somebody and hope you have some luck. Just make sure to follow the driversweeper instructions to the letter.
Cheers
Nick
