Hello Community,
I don’t know if you have done the underground facility post patch 28/1 but I can tell you it is quite depressing. I am unsure whether this is inteded or not but I am pretty sure that this SHOULD NOT be intended by the developer.
The problem I am talking about is 1 of the 2 possible bosses in this fractal.
With the patch they changed the ice elemental into a fight that is the most depressing thing I have ever seen in GW2.
The boss does now spawn ice spikes from above in a targeted aoe on every player without ANY animation that indicates the attack in advance.
After about 1 sec those ice spikes fall down upon the player and kill instantly.
BUT THIS IS NOT THE PROBLEM!!!
In the exact same moment that those ice spikes spawn and red rings appear on the
ground, agony is applied to every player standing in those circles.
The agony attack is unlike any other because it is impossible to dodge. This makes it very frustrating because it has nothing to do with your skill but the amount of agony resistance you have built up.
Now I want your opinion on this and maybe a strategy to overcome this problem that we might have missed when playing it.
ATTENTION: 36,000 Mithril Ore + 18,000 Elder Logs +22,500 Large Fang = 1,500 Level 80 RARE Greatswords........ + Mystic Forge = ABSOLUTELY NOTHING
in Crafting

ATTENTION!!!!
This is not unlucky AT ALL!!
This is the normal drop rate for getting dusk/dawn and here is my reasoning for this statement:
Dusk costs 350g in the TP
Dawn costs 300g in the TP
Now if you look at the items you threw into the mystic forge:
1 Valkyrie Krait Slayer costs about 20s
you used 1500 of those so it costed you about 300g.
The price of Dusk and Dawn is determined by the difficulty to obtain them and also Dusk and Dawn both share the same recipe so it is still in the normal range of possibilities.
THERE IS NOTHING UNUSUAL ABOUT THIS.
I think all you guys missed the REAL problem of crafting.
IT GIVES XP!!
This is why it is not profitable.
In other MMOs you level your craft which takes time and money and as a reward you get a small profit.
This is impossible in GW2 because there is no reason NOT to take a crafting discipline.
It is just some easy XP.
I prefer the GW2 variant because this prevents that some people make unlimited money from their crafting discipline.
