In terms of player use, I can definitely see worth in fixing the effect. However, in terms of NPC use, I really enjoy the fact that you can see the eyes no matter where you are. It gives the White Mantle and fallen Pact members a much more menacing presence.
All things considered, I’d prefer to keep it the way it is. We already have the red glow-eyes from the gem store— I don’t think we need something so similar to that.
I understand that any big changes would require a lot more work than you’re probably willing to offer at this point. That’s perfectly fine, and I’ll scale my answer accordingly.
So, short answer: I would personally prefer the male variants on females.
I would like to add (in case anyone cares): This is the precursor for LEGENDARY armor. On one hand, this “isn’t even it’s final form!” but on the other hand, I don’t expect it to change too much on it’s path to legendary status. So, a lot of people’s expectations are riding on this armor. Out of anything cosmetic, this is not a place you should slack on.
Oh wow. I wonder why they haven’t changed it. It seems like a lot of people are getting lost because of it.
But thanks for the info. I didn’t see anything about it, so I assumed it was new. Never occurred to me that it could be really old news.
I found two confused players in Black Citadel trying to get past the gate that leads to Nolani Academy (I had the same bug, and told them this was an incorrect location).
One was looking for the mission “Tracking the Master of Peace” and the other was looking for “Pact Assaulted.” Both lead them to this location.
The location of the instance portrayed on the map is the same location of the Halloween instance that leads to the fight against the Bloody Prince. I imagine something got mixed up in preparation for Halloween.
What the…
“One of the most loyal” does not imply not being chosen means you’re not considered a loyal player, it just means a person who got invited is literally just one of the people considered eligible for an invite. They’re not saying they’re inviting everyone who is “loyal”, just a random few, so it’s only natural there will be people who are left out.
And congratulations to everyone who got invited, I hope you all have fun even if it’s likely there will be bugs and crashes galore (not a dig at ANet, just how early betas usually are).
I think you expressed this very well, Pandaman, and thank you. It truly was not “every loyal player into the test” but just “We’ve inviting a few loyal players” with the knowledge that this is a brief stress test and there will be other opportunities in the future!
I guess I was one of the unlucky ones. :/
But hey, congrats to those who got it, and we’ll be joining you guys at the official release!
Happy bug-hunting!
On a similar note, I sent a bug report a while ago but I haven’t seen anything fixed. (I didn’t contact support because it’s not affecting any gameplay or anything).
In the Black Lion weapon collections tab, I have way too many weapons registered as “collected.” I DO have the Jade Dragon Shield and the Bloody Prince’s Toy Chest, but the collection achievements say I have 3 lovestruck, 2 aetherized, and 2 chaos weapons, including the two items I actually have.
This is even more odd, considering none of the extra skins are unlocked in my wardrobe.
This could definitely use some looking-in to. Am I the only one with this kind of problem?
So, I was scanning through some of the ascended amulets sold by a laurel vendor, and I found one item that really got me thinking.
The Krait culture was touched on in the living story with “Tower of Nightmares,” as well as in the personal story (when you work with the norn to get the krait orb), but it’s never really been explained beyond vague ideas.
There’s an ascended amulet called “Hymn to the Prophets.” It’s description is “Straight from the dark depths of krait-infested waters.”
This got me thinking— how awesome would it be to hear music sung by krait? Something dark and haunting, echoing in the water, the voices of hundreds of krait, all holding close their belief in… whatever exactly it is they believe in. It’s a side of them I’d like to see.
I think this would be a really cool thing to experience, and though I doubt it’ll ever happen, it was worth pointing out.
I’m sure this has been asked before, but I don’t see it in this thread— Why don’t you include a player-to-player trade option? I feel like that would solve a handful of scamming issues.
Well, I feel like an idiot now.
New computer and everything…
I noticed a small circle consisting of arrows in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, and asked a friend what it was.
He told me it was an icon from Shadowplay from the GeForce Experience (basically something that records games).
I turned it off and everything works totally smoothly.
Case closed. Sorry, everyone.
I have checked other forum posts before making this topic, but none of the ones I saw matched this issue.
I’ve been playing on my old laptop since beta, and haven’t had any problems. I just got a new laptop, and GW2 was one of the first things I installed on it.
However, the new laptop has been having some issues… but only when I play GW2.
Some keys will randomly just not respond. They only respond after I press the key firmly multiple times, and then they work fine… for a few seconds. This only happens in gameplay situations. I’ve checked the keys on a document, and they work fine. I’ve used in-game chat, and they also work fine. But, when I am using them in movement or combat, they fail on me, and often.
Any advice?
Ok, first off, I know this build isn’t great for much, and I’m hoping someone can give me a better build based off my play style. (It’d be very appreciated.)
I run full cleric’s (which I know is considered a bad idea).
Traits are 6/2/6/0/0 with III, VIII, XII, IV, II, VIII, XI
I use kits occasionally, generally when I feel the need to switch combat-styles, and usually have my rifle out. Most commonly-used kit is bombs.
I don’t have any one solid string of utility skills— it varies extensively depending upon the dungeon/boss/situation.
While my damage output isn’t anything to brag about, I do find that, given my rifle and cleric’s, I’m able to be at range or in the middle of the fight at any time, and can also tank just well enough to make sure I can revive people in the party with lower health pools.
I really do boil down to a support engineer (which I’ve not heard of anyone doing, really), but I’m also set up well to solo pve with relative ease (I’ve always done exploration with my engineer, and he’s the first— and so far, only— character of mine to reach 100% world exploration).
I’ve played engineer since beta… though, that isn’t to say I’ve played it well.
I actually only use kits slightly less than 1/2 of the time, usually to stack extra conditions or to change combat styles. I use rifle most of the time. (So, if I were to make The Predator, you’d at least see it on me a lot.)
It is definitely true that engineer is not elite at anything, but I find they’re decent at everything. On top of that, they’re a ton of fun to play. Those are the redeeming qualities.
But as I strive for better performance and dependability as a player, I’ve almost completely abandoned my once-favorite profession.
They definitely need some love, and more in the area (in my opinion) of base weapons rather than kits.
Until then, my engineer will remain my explorer, because they’re still pretty good for solo-running around maps.
I, personally, really like this one. The last one was cool, but this one is, like… awesome.
I dunno what I like about it so much… maybe that it’s more cultural-looking?
All I’m saying is I’m going to have to hold back from getting 3 or more of them.
And I can’t wait to see what else is on its way!
The dragon in the ceiling is red.
She had alot of colors to draw with, but she did it with red.
Now what dragon is associated with the color red?
Primordus
;DTwo reasons I think its Mordemoth over Primordus.
1. Once she left the Eternal Alchemy she was obvious changed from her meeting with the pale tree (who I still think was Mordemoth) she killed Omadd with red vines sprouting from her body. A new jungle type ability gained from Mordemoth.
2. Now a new threat are these Jungle Wurms in the bloodtide coast.
3. Drawing of a dragon in her study, which makes it clear that it was a dragon that changed her and not something else. Combine that with points 1 & 2 = Mordemoth.
4. The toxic spores created with the help of the nightmare court & KraitThe few things that go against this theory is:
1. Her love for the mechanical which is certainly NOT Mordemoth like.
2.The alliance with the dredge and Flame legion. A jungle dragon would certainly not like this combination.
3. Her focus on attacking humans and particularly Queen Jennah. Why not the other races? this doesn’t make sense. And now she is after Lions Arch, again an old human settlement.
Okay, I largely agree. But here’s my theory:
— SPOILER—
If you’ve read Scarlet’s journal pages, she talks about “ending this madness.”
I do believe that something reached her in her Dream, and the future may have been shown to her when she experienced the entanglements of the Eternal Alchemy, etc.
Also, if these probes are her’s, then it would /seem/ like, at least to me, that she is trying to root out Mordremoth and take him down so that he won’t continually attack her mind.
Being that sylvari are Mordremoth’s minons (right? I can’t be the only one with this theory), and the Pale Tree is to Mordremoth what Glint was to Kralkatorik (being separated from his conciousness), then perhaps Mordremoth is attempting to re-corrupt Scarlet.
At this point, I imagine she’s trying to take him down (and possibly the other dragons, but mainly him) so that, at the VERY LEAST, have her mind at ease and away from his influence.
That’s what I’ve drawn from all this.
Frankly, I feel like rangers need more of a buff. They’ve been really torn down over the past few patches.
The most important part I would like to point out is that rangers don’t have much of a health pool and their healing power isn’t great. Taking away their endurance regeneration makes them a lot more vulnerable.
I also appreciate the ideas for thief. Currently, they have enough skills to keep from getting killed, but not tough enough to have a fair fight. They ultimately lead to no-winner, time-wasting fights in WvW. Just my opinion.
But seriously— buff the rangers, please. (And I don’t mean just by giving them stronger pets. That doesn’t help much.)
