Agree with the OP. 2H hammer needs work. Glad to see Karl MacLain’s post stating that it is being looked at.

Built in gap closer and speed up the combat animations are needed.

No "real" ranged weapon for Guardians

scepter/torch

Add in spirit weapons and the targetted AOE spells and a guardian can play as a ranged class fairly well.

you put a melee weapon and a range weapon together.
IMO, those 2 do not go together.

I use a lot of scepter/torch as my weapon swap from greatsword.

Combos: great idea with no impact

Personally I perceive cross-players combos as great idea. This mechanic is something that had been looking very very promising in a pre-release materials. Yet… it’s useless in an actual game. I don’t feel any difference in fight with and without them, there’s absolutely no need (or even greed) to make a combo. Maybe that is the reason why I see no one performing combos on purpose, and very few to even trigger them (most probably by an accident of having finisher and/or field in their fav weapon).

Maybe some kind of solution would be area bosses pratically immune to any normal strike, and fragile to combo moves (maybe this is a solution for facerolling parties killing the allmighty-element-of-this-soil dragons like a rat). Maybe the combos should be simply stronger. Anything, IMO it’s a shame that this mechanic could be so impactful for a gameplay, yet it isn’t.

#Combos add additional elemental damage to a targeted mob in the form a damage over time affects (DOT).

#This added DOT is in fact added damage.

#Therefore the purpose of combos is to do more damage.

Gold is hard to come by in this game,
Thoughts?

You buy gold from Anet.

Problem solved….

Anybody that buys gold from the botters is an idiot and welcomes their accounts and PC to hacking.

Anet is selling gold to their players.

This is how their free to play model works.

If you need gold, buy it from the gem store.

I bought 4000 gems. Converted all of it too gold.
Guess what, I have zero issues with gold right now.

Cooking and eggs

ok i had a big post written out and i deleted it because it sounded whiny. In sort, where is the best place to farm eggs and butter. Read on if you feel like hearing some of my opinions on cooking, otherwise thanks for the tips on where to farm eggs.

I will add a little whine that cooking in its current state is ridiculous. It was already the most complex craft, the amount of ingredient options is staggering and now that we have to rely on drops its pretty much useless….eggs really?! I have to go out and farm them on purpose now?! How is killing swarms of moa’s rewarding and engaging?

So, before the nerf cooking was easy to level but that did not cut down on its complexity and it was and still is very counter-intuitive. Now its just unfun.

Birds drop eggs,
Butter comes from those bags that humanoids drop.
Also some Karma vendors sell butter.

All those items are obtainable.

Should i bother starting Crafting, and what crafting skill should I use?

Crafting is essentially a mini game.. You can play within the PVE and PVP parts of world without ever having to pick up a crafting profession.

It is an added immersion element that’s provided by Anet to make the game more enjoyable for those players that really enjoy crafting (like me).

Again, it is not necessary to enjoy the game.

My personal recommendation is to pick one crafting profession and enjoy the gaming mechanics that are provided therein. Do not approach crafting with a "must have’ mindset.

Too much butter

Why does so many bags which drops from the humanoid mobs contain so much butter now?

Seriously – it’s like every 3 contains some sticks of butter for me; and the drop rate seems skewed and eating into the other possible items drop rates.

I can’t believe there’s so much butter!!

Why I think that crafting is broken

Crafting needs a huge overhaul. The amount of time and gold that needs to be spent in order to level your crafting skills is ridiculous.

http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/12521-arenanet-andrew-mcleod-talks-crafting-in-gw2/page__st__450#entry599372 anet post linked to by the gw2wiki. We’re apparently supposed to be able to level crafting as I level my character by making items useful to me without having to craft a bunch of “junk,” I have been doing just the opposite though being forced to craft a bunch of “junk” and forced to go back and farm previous areas I have long since out leveled.

At this point after sinking hours into a crafting system that has returned nothing to me other than raising some level I’m about to say kitten it and just ignore crafting as a whole and only use gathering to get my daily.

I disagree with this post. You can craft and level at the same time.

Do you have to farm the mats? Yes.
That is part of the process of crafting.
Craft the base materials and then perform the discoveries.
You’ll then have a level appropriate item for you IF you spend the time to gather the mats.

OP, are you asking that crafting materials should be easier to obtain?
