Microtransactions are killing games in general. Selling content as dlc is fine. Basing an economy around microtransactions is always a mess and kills the game. GW2 is no exception.
I don’t agree at all. I think that the exact opposite is true in fact.
I would much rather spend money on micro transactions in the cash store vs. a paid subscription model. The problem is that there is nothing compelling whatsoever in the gem store besides bag and bank slots. It’s almost criminal that the same 3 ugly sets of armor are all we have to buy from them.
As a father of three who frequently travels internationally for work, I’m never going to farm up a legendary weapon. That kind of time investment is for halfhearted college students or teenagers working part time at Hot Topic. I’d gladly drop cash on something that looks as nice from the gem store, but Anet doesn’t seem to want the money.
