Best part of that graph is how bad Wildstar is doing, it makes my day.
CirranWildstar is the poster child for how the market has shifted away from WOW style business and game play.
Meh, personally I think it has a TON more to do with how Wildstar presented it’s self. It is a “hardcore” and “elitist” players paradise. Just shows when you basically call everyone who is not one of those a cupcake and needs to grow a pair, you fail badly. I do feel the game had potential but the focus needed to change when it went free to play, it didn’t it is now reaping what it has sown.
CirranPath of Exile says hi
LOL, I play PoE not a bad game, very repetitive but not bad at all. The attitude of it’s customer support and dev staff is NOTHING like Wildstars. Lots of options and directions to take your character again nothing like Wildstar.

LOL, do these guys ever stay off strike for more than a few months at a time???
Intelligent Char, wings, bunny ears, heck all the costume things that define an “Asian” mmo, no litter boxes for Char, perma invisibility, sad fact Asurans have not blown themselves up, troll minions that play the same irritating sound track over and over and over ect, no cat nip for distracting and interrupting Char, no cleric class in game, not enough different looking armors; how many dusters can one have?, and way too many jumping puzzles that rely on silly jump or die mechanics; scratch that way too many jumping puzzles period.
I am curious for those who say that they want hard content, and everything is simply way too easy. Would you be satisfied it ANet gave you your hard content for the same or less reward we get now? I am just curious if you really want a challenge or just like to complain. After all the challenge of beating harder content is it’s own reward.
Cirran
P.S. I know, I know, why do harder content if I am not going to get a better reward. Thank you for making my point for me.
Other than the disturbing issue of A-Net giving an official endorsement of don’t resurrect your teammates.
Calling Gaile’s personal opinion “official endorsement” is the reason none of us can have nice things. Your inability to distinguish between the two is, to use the word you used, disturbing.
LOL, right as always you are entitled to your opinion. If it was just her personal opinion would it not have been better to NOT user her A Net account? That little symbol to the left that none of the players get, gives the appearance of official endorsement. Personal opinion and that symbol don’t go together.
This subject is simply just ROFL, of all the things to whine about. OP, you and your fellow elitists are the reason I avoid the zerg at Mrs. T like the plague. I man the defensive teams. No issues with don’t res your teammates with them. The thread has been entertaining to read. Other than the disturbing issue of A-Net giving an official endorsement of don’t resurrect your teammates.
Personally, I don’t want either race added, I would rather have new classes added instead. If ANet just had to add a playable race, I would like to see the Dwarves. LOL, but with what has happen to them, it would take a major world changing event say like the Ancient Dragons waking up….

@OP: Did you ever play GW1. That game was perfect EXCEPT for the level 20 cap. More levels means more room to grow and becomes stronger to overcome challenges. Even if it isn’t the point of the game, having a max level for weeks in GW1 and having an area I can’t beat simply because there’s no way for me to become stronger or better to get past it is poor game design.
You beat things in GW1 by being smarter, not stronger. That was the point ..having OPTIONS, and figuring out how best to use them. Not just become “uber” and facerolling. That horizontal format was one of the best things about the franchise that made it different/better than the wow-clones. I’m sorry you couldn’t appreciate it.
I also have yet to see any vertical proponents acknowledge the fact that it’s an ILLUSION of power, because all it does it made everything else go up to compensate so you can still be challenged. So then you’re back to where you started.
LOL, well I have played GW1 and hit level 20 pretty quick. As for part of your statement “You beat things in GW1 by being smarter, not stronger.” UUhhhmmm no, you beat things in GW1 with cookie cutter builds. As for your intolerance for folks that like to level, with the way you insist on phrasing and boxing your argument, you make it impossible for anyone to “debate” you. You have the classic “I want what I want the way I want it and what you want is stupid.” You don’t want to discuss this you just want to say, “My way is best and the rest of you are wrong.”
Cirran
Op, why does the game have to play ONLY the way you want it to? I can take your mentality and go the other way. I would love to see them add levels and abilities.
TL:DR “No thank you. More levels are better than less.”

“Your idea would actually put small guilds in a far worse position, Large guilds have more crafters and resources than you’d ever hope to compete with. Putting it behind content allows a good small guild to easily beat a poor quality large guild, while not trivializing a good large guilds contribution.”
Worse position? Why does there need to be a competition? There is zero need for kitten contests. If you want an kitten contest you could always have the hyper competitive guilds build on the WvW maps. Not my cup of tea but there are those that love that kind of thing. With your line of thinking even if you lock things behind content, due to numbers large guilds still will come out on top. More people equals, more chances for that “rare” drop that is locked behind content. Lock it behind a dungeon run, World Boss, jumping puzzle box, living story box, or just about any other content and the truth remains the same. Large guilds will have an advantage. Who should ANet listen to, large or small guilds? Who should get better content? Because this is what most of the ideas in this thread boil down to. Large guilds should get the best stuff, and little guilds should get left overs. There are already way too many things a small guild can not do reliably that large guilds do as an after thought, bounties ect. The only way I can personally see as a way to make GHs “fair” is to scale the cost of it to the size of the guild making it. I know I know, that is not fair to large guilds, or is it? As stated above, they have the number, resources, and income.
My personal bottom line is no PvP, GvG, WvW or any kind of competition in relation to GHs. I would love to see GH as a staging area for my guild to work together and as I stated in my original post have PvE content based there.
LOL, frankly bottom line ANet will roll out GHs in a manner that makes them the most amount of money. They will listen to what is posted on the forum and then decided what ever method works the best for them. Then of course the forums will be over run with folks saying stuff like “this will kill GW2”, “horrible developers”, “this sucks I quit”, Ect……

I see a LOT of suggestions tying Guild Halls to WvW, PvP, GvG and guild events. Small guilds will not be able to do these things as well as a large guild. Also, what about guilds that do not do WvW or PvP? Arena Net needs to be very careful how they implement Guild Halls, or they leave a section of the player base out in the cold. Large guilds saying “well recruit and grow larger if you want to come in from out in the cold”. That makes as much sense as a small guild telling a large guild “well if you want to have an easier time getting Guild Hall content, break up your guild”. I want to see Guild Halls, would love to see them implemented where they need to be built by guild members from already in game harvestable resources. Crafters spending hours making the required components to build and upgrade your Guild Hall. Non crafters getting credit for donating resources for the crafters to work with. Now that would give a sense of accomplishment knowing you build that particular part of the Guild Hall. Would love to see PvE content associated with Guild Halls. Say, the guild leader unlocks a Risen attack against your Guild Hall or other such things. I have zero desire to have WvW or PvP associated with my Guild Hall. Just my .5 cent opinion.

AS an middle aged man with some “mental” issues. I found GW1 appeals to one kind of player and GW2 appeals to a different kind of player. Neither is better then the other and both feel strongly about what they like and what they don’t like. For example, as a solo player I found the companions in GW1 to be incredibly stupid and tedious to deal with. In GW2 I don’t have that issue. I have friends who simply LOVED their favorite companions and had a great time questing with them and miss them in GW2. For me I found GW1 to be way to unforgiving and GW2 is MUCH more forgiving for making errors. Of course this is my opinion and it is no better or worse than anyone else’s.
