Hah! Reeeeeally? It’s just that simple, huh? You’re talking about playing the Ranger in endgame content, not in Shaemoor, right? Why don’t you set us straight by sharing your builds and telling us all how to properly play the ranger FTW like you?

Faceroll what content? I’ve yet to see a Ranger faceroll content in Orr.

Vox – sorry, but I don’t follow you. But if you put the comparison to the GW1 Ranger aside, I think we’re still left with a class that’s undefined and – for group play – largely undesirable.

I have to agree with Joiry on all accounts.

After taking a GW1 Ranger to GWAMM and a GW2 Ranger to endgame, it is clear that the GW1 Ranger has been successfully transplanted into GW2. >:(

Once again, the Ranger has no strong role or identity and the unique skill component (pets and pet skills) is weak, cumbersome, slow, and awkward. And once again, you don’t find groups of PVP or PVE players saying, “Hey guys, we really need to find a Ranger for this group…”

The whole issue of pets, aggro, and slowness could really, really use another evaluation.

Micromanaging a pet during combat is one thing, but to have to micromanage it while you’re running past or through enemies is another. And the effectiveness of that management is yet another issue.

My level 80 Ranger is regularly out-paced by other players on account of the train of enemies following me and attacking my pet – which puts me into combat mode and slows me down to a crawl. Crawling through Tyria sucks, especially when all I want to do is run past some enemies to participate in an event.

The GW2 installation on my new Macbook Air is hanging at “Installing file 506 out of 509.”

It has been this way for about 30 minutes. I have no option to cancel and I’m not sure what to do or how to handle this.

Can anyone recommend a course of action and a solution?
