Some people come from Raid Progression games like WoW and they want more progression instead of a static world where there’s nothing left to progress or achieve more in comparison to other players or guilds.

Some people come from GW1 where the hook wasn’t gear progression raids and dungeons.

To please them both is impossible and the attempt do so is what you have now in GW2. Personally, I support the keep it like GW1 direction. Something about the combat in this game is fundamentally different from GW1 so there’s the start to consider changing.

Just my 2 cents.

Is this game..dead?

Just popped back in after a long hiatus and did some dynamic events. I think the lack of similar endgame content of other MMOs is what’s making MMO players in general who are playing 2 or 3 MMOs at the same time … play the other ones as of the moment as they’ve hit 80 on different classes in this game. I’m more of the opposite .. I’m considering coming back to level now. The beauty of the game is that it’s buy to play so excuse me for not wanting to chew through it too fast like other games where endgame is what ppl subscribe for and what they grind and keep on playing for.

I wouldn’t pay attetnion the doom and gloom naysayers. A lot of people didn’t even know Guild Wars until Guild Wars 2 was announced and GW still did fine back then .. this one will too. You realistically cant expect launch numbers as new MMOs will be coming and the MMO market and competition itself is getting more and more fragmented that I doubt any MMO in the future will have success equivalent to WoW or the classics such as Ultima or EQ.

I think robber said it best. And plus, if you cant survive levels 1-15 on every class because you die a lot then I call into question your MMO experience or gaming experience so to speak.

Are you sufficiently geared? If a quest is hard at level have you tried being 1 or 2 levels above the required level? So many people have played this game and very few of them complain of difficulty at the lower levels. Is it the game or is it you? Have you never hit a brick wall in any game where it takes time to figure out what you’re doing wrong and change and evolve your playstyle to win the game?

Then you make a forum post that you think you wasted your money because you think the game is too hard? Here’s the short answer … probably you did. Find easier games than this in the future I would recommend.
