Just an update here. After waiting almost a week, support came back and said they couldn’t do anything about it. I provided a video recording and everything showing what happened. They didn’t even acknowledge there was a problem, so it looks like we’re just out of luck.
Just to be clear, I’m not debating their decision. It is what it is. Just letting you all know that this may continue to be an issue in future ranked seasons.

Same thing happened to me. I was 2 ranked wins away from having the pips to finish my Byzantium reward track, and I got the 2 wins. Here’s the kicker: there were no pips, no rank advancement, no reward chest! Luckily I was streaming the thing, so I have a vod to prove it. Is this something I can contact support for or should I wait? The season was clearly still active.

1.) Anet doesn’t expect everyone to farm all their materials. The TP is there for a reason.

2.) The map can still expand and along with that, possible places to acquire ambrite

This was only meant to show where those mats come from. If you have the over 200g to buy all the ambrite and feel it’s worth it, be my guest.

Your other point is speculation, we have no such information at this time.

Speaking of farming though, has anyone done the math on the amount of ambrite needed to craft nomad’s gear? I’m not a math genius, but here’s what I’ve figuered:

So for full Nomad’s gear let’s say you craft 6 pieces of armor, 3 weapons, and 5 trinkets.
The trinkets require 3 sheets of ambrite (sh) for each exquisite ambrite jewel, and you need 5 of those per trinket so…

3sh x 5 jewels x 5 trinkets = 75 sheets of ambrite
5sh per weapon w/ 3 weapons = 15 sheets
5sh per armor w/ 6 pieces of armor = 30 sheets
75sh + 15sh + 30sh = 120 sheets of ambrite
25pcs of ambrite per sheet so 25pcs x 120sh = 3000 pieces of Ambrite!

Now let’s add to the equation how these are farmed.

My experience has been that I get on average 6 geodes per event. Also on average my group unlocks tier 3 so the lockpicks are 18 geodes each. Each lockpick gives you a lump of ambrite which on average give 2 pieces of ambrite. Therefore…

18geo per key / 6geo per event = 3 events per lockpick
3 events per lockpick / 2pcs ambrite per lockpick x 3000pcs of ambrite needed = 4500 events

So to craft your Nomad’s gear on your own you have to grind 4500 events to collect all the ambrite needed! I don’t care if it’s permanent, who seriously thinks that 4500 events for exotic gear is worth it?
I love the new content, but the amount of grind needs to be re-looked at. Again, please double check my math as I’m not an expert and also your findings may be different on averages.

Invent a new trap!

I don’t think you could call it a trap, but I think it would be fun to have something that you place like a trap that places a 30min shadow refuge (without the area indicator) that works on 20+ players. Have it only grant stealth to those in the radius, once you leave the stealth ends. Also, allow enemy players to destroy it with a single aoe and when destroyed it should do significant damage to the hidden players as a counter play. It should also require more than 20 supply so a single player can’t deploy it on his own, that would detract a bit from the thief class and that wouldn’t be fun for them.

Think of the ambush tactics that would evolve with such an addition! -drools-

Personally, I think this is great! If you’re playing the game everything is the same as before, free! If you miss something, you now have the ability to see/play it (an option that we didn’t have before).

It also gives financial incentive to ArenaNet to make sure the living story is top notch because each episode will be able to increase their revenue and the better releases will earn more. It’s a win-win for both devs and players.

I kinda liked this bug.

I really liked this bug as well. In fact just a few days ago I used a lv 80 transmutation stone so I could wack mobs underwater with a gun as my spear. Now unfortunately, I’m left with a corrected pirate spear that I never wanted and I waisted a transmutation stone. I guess that’s the risk you take for assuming pirates are just crazy.
