been 15 days since my first and last request for assistance regarding the crashing during download of the HoT patch, as my notable stream of error reports submitted as per the devs’ own setup indicates the error has not been fixed, I have tried repairing the files manually as suggested on another part of the forum (dont ask where, two weeks is a long time and I dont keep records), Ive tried removing a browser add on which is noted to cause issues with the game, and I have tried waiting for email response. Now im attempting to reinstall the whole lot from scratch and see what happens, though looking at the size of this forum page on bugs im not getting my hopes up just yet regardless if it “works” or not… more to follow on that.
Come on arenanet, this is daft. I recognise you are busy now recognise that i am a paying customer with a faulty product and asking for assistance (yes im playing that card) i havent been rude but you have been ignorant. This issue has been here for long enough for you to know about, and as it hasnt been fixed directly there must be a work around, isnt it common decensy to use the database you keep your error tickets in to email the people who have had this problem exactly how to fix it, instead of leaving them to do it alone or dredge through the forums blindly in hope of stumbling across the answere? I just hope the re install works as i wont be trying a third time.
HoT has been out for a couple of days now and ive so far not been able to download the patch at all, i’ll copy and paste what it says to me here so there is no confusion.

this makes crash number 5 since release, i get as far as 6mb downloaded then the download rate drops to double figures on kb then dies a pathetic, unmanly death :/
What im asking is if anyone has had this same problem and knows or think they might know something that could help? Thanks in advance
*as an edit, ive seen someone has had this problem before and it was said Lavasoft was the issue. I did indeed have Lavasoft downloaded (how, im not sure) and since removed it. I think it made it worse… now the game client stops working before it manages to crash.
