Seeking Raid Team/Guild

ClutchPlay.4596

Only cleared the first two wings, each when they first came out. High-end raiding experience in other MMOs, namely WoW; (World Top 500, US Top 100) with logs readily available. I have multiple characters that are raid-ready; however, I’m most comfortable with Condi PS/DPS and/or Guardian.

Things I’m looking for:
-2-3 days/week
-Any time 1800-0000EST
-Semi-casual yet progression-oriented environment
-Constructive criticism(among all members)

Things I’m not looking for:
-New raid teams/“forming” guilds
-Thin-skinned players
-Groups that are still progressing on Wing 1 (Not being elitist, just being honest)

Searching for Raid Guild.

- 10+ years of high-end raiding experience across multiple MMOs
– RIFT
– <Lucidium> on Greybriar (Vanilla)
– Greenscale’s Blight, River of Souls Server First Full clears
– Hammerknell Fortress 12/12
– World of Warcraft
– <WHO CARES> 12/12 Heroic ICC
– <SPONSORED BY WOTLK> 12/12 Heroic ICC farm
– Guild Wars
– ~5 years of Speed Clearing
– FoWSC, UWSC, DoASC
– Guild Wars 2
– 3/3 Spirit Vale clear, relatively casually, within three weeks (Guild Leader)

I have multiple characters that are full-Ascended geared. I am well-versed in all aspects of each class. I take the time to do my own DPS testing, min-maxing and research to perform to the best of my ability and most optimally. Please give me a reason to start playing this game again.

10-player ability effects in raids?

Most, if not all, abilities in the game are currently restricted to affecting 5 allies maximum. Do we know if this is going to be extended to 10 players for the raids? If not, then raid comps are going to be pretty pigeon-holed and we may be looking at being forced to bring multiples of certain classes.

GUILD HALLS, unobtainable

guild
?ild/
noun
a medieval association of craftsmen or merchants, often having considerable power.
an association of people for mutual aid or the pursuit of a common goal.
synonyms: association, society, union, league, organization, company, cooperative, fellowship, club, order, lodge, brotherhood, fraternity, sisterhood, sorority
“the copper craftsmen have formed a guild”

Everything about the word “guild” and what it entails revolves around multiple people. Sorry that you don’t enjoy playing with others players but there are single player games for that. This is a Massive Multiplayer Online game. You knew what you were getting into when you bought it, not sure what ground you have to stand on here.

To further add to this; I run a guild with three other friends. I went to the area at which you obtain the guild hall, and grouped up with another guild. In a combined effort, we helped each other obtain one another’s guild halls. This is what the MMO experience is about. If you don’t want to do that, the MMO genre isn’t for you.

Squad UI

Hey guys. I’m looking for some clarification on the “commander-less squads.” Are we able to, without a commander tag, create a squad for Open World content yet? Or is it restricted to raids only? I’m aware that we will be able to enter the raid with a Commander-less, invite-only squad but does that only apply to the raid? Basically, I just want to know if I can create a squad for my guild for open world content without owning a commander tag.

Watching the Guild Wars 2 livestream from Twitchcon today and seeing the band playing really made me wish there was more of an emphasis on social gathering areas in Guild Wars 2. Taverns/pubs that are already in the game would be SO awesome if there was a band-score playing inside of them. I certainly would find myself hanging out in them very often! Thoughts?

Hey guys. Here are a few screenshots of my guardian throughout random periods of time and moods, haha. I spend too much transmutation crystals (or shards, whatever they are called now) and time changing dyes around. This is my first time sharing!

I’ve been playing since release now and for the longest time I’ve been trying to put my finger on why just going out and doing general PvE content is so painful to me.

Today, I hopped back on Guild Wars 1 and for the hell of it I started playing through Prophecies again. What I noticed was that each new area brought a new enemy to fight. With this, an entire new skillset of these enemies was brought to the table. Thus, I had to change my build entirely to effectively counter what I was going against, skillwise, in multiple facets:

1) I had to choose my skills so that I could counter the skill-set that the enemies had.
2) I found myself choosing skills that would be beneficial against a certain species. (Burning against Ice Elementals and Plants, Holy damage against Undead, etc.)

Now this may be a seemingly small thing, but in Guild Wars 2 after familiarizing yourself with an enemy type (ie, Risen) you know the 2-3 different “skills” they possess. These skills place a red circle around your feet and may have varying effects, but regardless you avoid them only because of the circle that has killed you countless times in the past. Aside from those maybe 2-3 “skills,” the only thing you have to do is dodge-auto attacks that can hit you for a varying amount between 10-100% of your health (looking at you, trash mobs in CoE) instantly.

Just so that this isn’t an endless rant without any sort of solution provided, here is what I would recommend. I get that this may not even be possible due to “technical or engine related limitations,” but I’ll throw it out there anyway:

1) Give enemies the same skills that characters get, depending on their class/weapon.
2) Most importantly, give us a cast-bar/tooltip for each skill that enemies are using, so that we can counter them on a skill/character based concept, instead of counter them based on dodging and how much endurance we have.

End of rant, thanks for reading.

Serious FotM group recruiting.

ClutchPlay.4596

Recruiting for a small core of players interested in FotM in an environment of individuals with similar goals and competency. We actively push FotM on multiple characters and use Skype as voIP. Our core is based around a group of friends who have actively pushed PvE content in games since EQ2. If you’re not a mongaloid, like to bullkitten on Skype, and be surrounded by competent players than shoot me a whisper in game and we can figure something out. This does not have to be a guild recruitment method; so if you’re in a guild that you have to represent, we don’t care. We simply want to find a group of people to consistently and effectively run FotM.

Core of ex-world top 250 raiders and 2 time glads looking for more dragon slayer nerds for FotM and, God/Anet willing, future content progression. Quite frankly if you don’t give a kitten about guilds and are just looking for a team where you know competency exists, then get a hold of us. We are a small guild consisting of long-time friends and are not going anywhere as long as content is available to us. If you copy your builds off the forums, don’t take the time to min/max, and can’t take constructive criticism then we probably aren’t for you. While most of us are military or have jobs, our schedule is relatively lax. Our primary grouping time will be on the weekends, however gatherings during the week will also occur. Post here, or message me in game. Thanks!
