Lackluster animation on Legendary weapons

I don’t understand why most of 2nd generation legendaries have shorter foot fall animation except Shooshadoo. Is this some sort of mistake and needs fixing? I wouldn’t think it’s intended as long foot fall animation has been uniform among all 1st gen legendaries.

I did it with a person. Just keep the adds away from the ooze and kite around so it wont get any healing. You need to have knockback skills though.
Shield OH or Rifle
Rifle needs to be tweaked for real.
Mix of rabid and dire
If you want to be unique, and are easily bored. Engi is the right class for you. Especially if you have a high skill ceiling, there’s a ton of combos with this class. I’ve played all classes in the game, but no other class keeps me interested in playing the game other than my engi. It is just so versatile and you can literally build specs and it feels like it is a whole new profession.
I would have to agree though that we need better balancing on some weapons.
I run a pretty close build to this one. Instead of tools and scrapper i use inventions and firearms and marauder instead of settlers amulet. Everything else is the same. It’s so much fun. In fact, i find my variant fun in roaming and zergs (with addition of few soldier gear).

I run either P/P or P/S in wvw with mortar kit on zergs. What runes, sigils and gear do you use?

OMG!!! I love you!!! All this time and so many toons and I have yet to pick a legendary. Started them all, but never got far.
Now after seeing HOPE I am sold. So perfect for my Asura engi too….means I can delete the plant and cat, maybe.

I’m just glad that shield got a small buff. It’s worth using now in wvw/pvp. Not all players focus on pve anyways.

Shield requires more than a CD reduction and a trait to improve it’s performance. I am not however on the bandwagon with swapping pistol 3 with pistol 4. There are significant disadvantages to doing that and also further weakens the performance of the Shield.
Shield can no longer stop thief basilisk venom and unfortunately for it, the list of unblockables goes on per encounter. Shield needs to have an effect that makes it meaningful in combat by protecting the Engineer or offering advantageous situations for the Engineer. Until it is capable of not getting you killed during casting and being 1 time use per engagement, CD reductions (while ultimately necessary for the skills in their current format) will not be enough.
I totally agree with you. Swapping P3 and P4 is not the only option there is and that’s a buff to the P mainhand not to the Shield mainly. I’d rather see one of S4’s utility removed and put it on a low CD. S5 is most of the time unusable as the block is way too short for its CD and daze is overrated.
Does shield need fixing?
I main an engi since launch and have experience with all kind of possible builds on this class. However, i just can’t seem to understand how useless this offhand is compared to the other weapons available. I think it needs to get fixed, maybe buffed or others should be toned down to come to a nice balance. Sad to see that players have to resort to meta builds and just use one weapon to play at a high level and be competitive.

Make this a GM trait making the mortar an elite kit, which we can switch into freely but with all skills on a long CD. I think that would be fair.
We need a melee mainhand. Definitely hammer for tinkering. I can also see dagger as its the closest resemblance to a nail. lol Torch would be cool too, like the mechanical ones for welding.
IMO, engies are the most versatile class as you can create different builds with different utility skill combinations. It’s role is not of the trinity, which i think why people think it does not have one. In a group setting i find myself setting up bombs and traps to manipulate enemy movement and put them at a disadvantage securing stomps for our team. We have lots of CC and i think we should be using it. Engineer class screams of UTILITY.
