Rather than doing that, I believe we need to be looking at the player’s interest. I had discussed and also much heard of this problem with several people in WvW but in the end, they just want fights during their raid/playtime.
True, people often move around/shuffling worlds as a guild and sometimes, the problem either stems from not having enough fights or the fights getting stale.
For example like myself, I have been move from SoS – FA – DB – YB – JQ – TC – BG and everytime I move, it usually because there is no more fights or it gets boring aka stale and everytime I move, it usually with the world that is pushing towards higher tier or have high player activity.
I don’t know what is the solution for the WvW problem as a whole but all I know is that people like a fair number fights and if it can’t be a fair number fights, at least the smaller number had a chance of winning against a blob (well that was the hype in the beginning of WvW anyway of how 10 vs 20 or 30 and claiming it is possible to win) and new world isn’t going to fix that because they all tried it a year ago with fight guilds being in t3, fighting it out. Though, I’m not sure why they ended it but the main point is, it ended. ( I did discuss about the new world as well, a month ago and tbh, it will not fly because it creates more space, space that we don’t need.)
just my thought n opinion on WvW.
First of all, well done. It brings back the atmosphere of “new game” or “expansion” to the mode. As a person who spends most of his time in WvW and not in PvE or sPvP eventhough there is either a festival or raid to look forward to, I love the WvW reward track. At the time of the reset, I spent literally 18hrs non stop in WvW because that is how much addicting it can be and seeing 100 queues across the timezone is just a sight to see on every world you fight including my own server aswell. So again, job well done.
- How do you feel overall about reward tracks?
- It is awesome. Alot of people feels the same way too, there is even a talk within several community about reviving their own guild by calling back their guild mates to play WvW back. Even the PvE virgin play WvW ( one of my casual guild’s member) and felt it is something they would play again. So yeah, good job on the work done in WvW reward. It is something that encourage people to try WvW and fall in love with the mode. I heard and seen nothing but praise from all of the people while in WvW for 18 straight hours.
- What are your thoughts on the rate at which you gain participation?
- Honestly, I dont feel like it is slow but then again, I am in WvW all day long so my feedback may not be credible.
- How do you feel about the rate you earn reward track points?
- Again, like the question above, I’m in WvW all day long so to me it is great. I managed to finish 3 tracks ytd.
- Overall, what are your impressions about the types of reward tracks we have?
- I guess, you could broaden the variety of the end of the reward. It feels like it is something that is nothing new but either way I am happy to get the dungeon skin and the new triumphant armor set.
- Are there any other reward tracks you would really like to see?
- As a person who rarely PvE, would be nice to see legendary progression track (don’t mind if it takes a year to complete or 2 years) just give me something to work with within WvW or ascended. If those are impossible, then I would ask to include new skin to the end reward. Could be weapon or armor set skin. We joke about the Skin Wars from time to time but all joke aside, it is something that most people strive for in the game.
Thanks again for the WvW reward track and hope the team polish it to the perfection.
Before I say anything, I am a wvw player through and through so what I have to say here is based on a simple observation. So take it with a grain of salt.
This game is slowly becoming a try hard game instead of what it promises, a supposed to be casual game. I don’t have to look at the population of the server. I just have to look at my casual guild. We were going 100+ people and strong ( mind you my guild consist of local people in my own country so 100+ is alot and it exist since the beginning, we held gathering sometimes ) then slowly the content asking people to equip themselves for a much harder quest like World Boss fail mode, then people starts to argue with each other, blaming each other and pointing fingers. Then when they release HoT, its still manageable but when they announce Raid and its the only way to earn legendary armor, people just give up and move on to other game.
What once a fun pve content, at least to me since I, myself plays wvw more were also playing pve for blowing off steam and reconnect with people who don’t wvw. Its just that sense of relax and while having fun with your friends doing it together kind of thing. I really hope they bring it back.

I’m from Malaysia, experience 700+ ping as well, sometimes goes as high as 1k-4k ping. Other games are fine, problem lies in gw2 which is sad because I’m wvw all day and to have this problem is a little irritating.
this is why I dont pre-purchase, since its playable even without HoT, I rather stick with it. I mean why break my heart by pre-purchasing the game, now twice the price as it is than before for a content yet to be balance and yet there are bugs to be fix.
as it stands now, my call is to wait on it, yep might not be the first person to get the brand new profession, brand new specialization and brand new mastery but this is not the kind of game that you can rush it, it’s a marathon not a sprint kinda game. So what if you are late by a few month, you’ll catch up soon enough.
Considering the bug/ crash/ things to improve, things to balance. I rather hold my money till they actually gives me a good product for me to yet spent again another dollar on it.
