I’ve been doing some tests with my new Nvidia 660, and someone’s older 460.

Basically the newer card has almost zero affect on the frame rate (maybe 1-2 frames)

I’ve tested this on my rather old Intel Quad Core Q9550 (2.83 GHz) system and someone else’s newer i7 920 (2.67 GHz) system. It looks like the frame rate is heavily influenced by the CPU (other people have noticed the same thing).

The 660 card runs about 20% faster in the i7 system compared to the Q9550 system. That speed difference is very close to the difference in their CPU speeds. So it really looks like the CPU is a major factor in frame rate.

Just wanted to add my support here. I loved the jumping puzzle! Best thing in the event (although I loved almost all of it).

To all those people that can’t complete the puzzle, I feel for you, I really do. However…

I spend hours ‘learning it’ and completed it after a few hours of trying. Then I got it done again with all my alts, including Char and Asura, fairly easily. I did not use any speed boosts or tricks.

Simply put, some people will never be able to do it, its just not in their skill set. Others, like me, will learn it over time, while a few will breeze through it in their first couple of goes. The reward for finishing it isn’t all that great, so if you aren’t enjoying it then stop. Just don’t do it. Personally I enjoyed it very much and would love to see other puzzles like this in the future.

Again, I feel sorry for anyone frustrated at not being able to finish this puzzle but please don’t ruin everyone’s fun by demanding all future events are designed for your level of skill. Dumbing down is a major blight of MMOs and this is the kind of place it starts.

Got another response from Support. They say I have to wait 24 hours before I can make a purchase, then I can only buy for 24 hours. Well, its cool that I’ll probably be able to buy some gems but I wonder why my accounts broken like this. Is this a bug being looked into?

Well I also can’t buy Gems from the store. I’ve tried my card and Paypal, errors on both when finalising. I put a ticket in and got a response from support saying they had overridden the restrictions for 24 hours, BUT said I needed to wait another 24 hours from the time I last tried to make a payment before trying. Unfortunately I had already tried it just as the email arrived. Will this break the process? Do I still have to wait 24 hour? Its all kind of frustrating. Any help or clarification on the process would be helpful. Many thanks!

I feel kind of stupid I didn’t check the forums before I spend my money. There is no way I’d have bothered to buy the ten keys I did, if I’d known how low the chance was I’d get a weapon. I knew it wasn’t guaranteed I’d get one, but it never entered my mind that the drop rate would be anything like this low.

By the way they were advertising the weapon skins I just assumed that in 15+ chests I’d have had at least a reasonable chance to get something cool. Maybe its not justified but I feel kind of conned and its completely put me off spending more money in the Gem store.

I love the game but today ANet made me feel like a chump.
