I fear that in many instances collision detection would disable players ability to melee bosses in larger zerg situations. There can’t possibly be enough room around a mob for 50+ players to each be able to reach the target?
Also, as mentioned, griefing – as well as having lines for NPCs…
Firstly, I am pleased that “features” have been added to the game. To what extent I will leave for another post. What bothers me is how everything has been implemented.
Wardrobe locker: Great idea which should have been in the game day 1. With a game prideful in horizontal progression, the original skin system was done very poorly. After a year and a half, we get a wardrobe feature complete with a “BUY NOW” button next to transmutes. Is ANYONE fooled into believing this feature was implemented for any reason other than promoting gem store sales?
Account bound dyes: Great idea. Only implemented because they made the decision to eliminate world drops, making dyes primarily available on…you guessed it…the gem store.
Megaserver: Great idea to reduce dead zones. Implemented to reduce number of servers online, reducing cost of leasing servers.
I am bothered with the idea that Anet cannot give players any new features without the gem store attached. It makes sense as a greedy business model, but everything is veiled as a “You voiced, we listened!” addition, where really it was only implemented because it got a stamp of “Yeah this will make more money.”
I’ll go on a limb and say that guild v guild will be added, at the cost of gem store “challenge” tokens or some clever way to add a cost to making the most of it.
I’m half-expecting a gem store purchase for bug fixes in the future. Anyone else feel this way?
Since the patch I have noticed, despite propaganda by anet, I am not being placed in servers with my guildies, friends, and people I generally have come to recognize on my home server. I can only think the algorithm for matching “affinities” did not begin until after the patch, in which case would not create “affinity” with any known people – because they are now on a different megaserver!
I do like the effort in increasing population in dead zones however.
Simply put: World bosses on a fixed schedule destroys the “living, breathing” aspect of the world. Where effort has been invested to create the feeling that the player is part of a dynamic world, in which his/her actions impact events or the environment, this defeats it.
“OK kiddies, time for shatterer. Next we want you to do snack time. Now it’s potty time.”
Kitten that, I cannot explain it, but this just feels like they are telling me how to play by setting the times I am ALLOWED to defeat world bosses. Play how they want me to play I guess.
+1 Wholeheartedly agree with post.
Of all the changes in the recent patch, this one bothers me the most. Forcing players into different game modes is a condescending attitude by Anet. “We know what’s best for you. You will like trying PVE for dailies and thank us for it.” No, thank you really.
Try expanding options for people. I know “expansion” is a dirty word for Anet, but trust me I know what best for you Anet. Try adding content to the game, you will thank me for it.
What armor/stats did you go with?
I’m often throw off when I see my main do 30k – 40k crits, but then I realize the damage text is overlapping itself. Are you sure its not 9,700 overlapping 1,000 so the extra zero is tagged on?
Hello all,
I’m a 28 year old engineer from Boston looking for an active, mature and fun guild. I’ve played many MMOs and have a 25 Ranger ATM. Focused on PVE right now, but really I have fun doing anything with a community. Online mostly nights.
