Trading Post bought items disappearing!

The trading post may be losing your bought items if you leave them in the queue for too long (~24 hours tested)

I had ~2k items which I was unable to collect for about 24 hours, and when I finally got around to collecting them, I discovered that about half of it was missing. Only items that I had 1 stack or less of survived. The buy orders are gone, which means they were filled, but they weren’t there when I collected my items.

I know about having to click collect all multiple times, and I definitely did not withdraw the orders. I have submitted bug reports via the in-game system before, and never once have I received a reply, which is why I’m posting this here.

I advise regular collection of items from the trading post. High volume items seem to be ok, but the combination of high volume and long periods between collections seem to nuke your items! I am not expecting a refund, just for the bug to be fixed very very soon! For anyone else trading/crafting/flipping out there, if you can, note down the items that you buy, and if you wait >1 day to collect them, please check if you have lost any items and report back. Thank you!

P.S To be clear, I only lost items that I bought more than 1 stack of.

Try looking at this thread. Seems to describe the same problem. Short version is that OOM means out of memory, which means that GW2 or some other program has a memory leak (taking more and more memory without releasing what it doesn’t use), you not having enough memory overall, or some combination of the above. A potential workaround mentioned in the thread is to reduce your overall settings to use less memory, and maybe close some background programs that you’re using. And yes, a log would help. Please don’t past the whole log like in the other thread, click “More posting & formatting options…” and attach the text file.

[Wrkrnd] Memory at address could not be read

Cronos.7248

I’ve recently encountered repeated crashes with the error message “Memory at address <8 digit hexadecimal number> could not be read.”, which started with the new Sept feature pack. These crashes (when they happen) always occur:

  • After I click log-in, before the game launches, or
  • while loading into Lion’s Arch (never tried other maps)

When I get an error at either 1 or 2, I’ll keep getting that error at the same time if I launch the game repeatedly.

Workaround

I have found that deleting the local.dat in your appdata/Gw2 folder completely solves the errors, with the caveat of completely deleting all your settings and downloading ~3-4MB for a fresh loadup. What I did was to change my settings in-game, exit, then rename local.dat to local.dat.backup. I copy that back whenever I get issues again. Note that I only tested this when the message specifies “App: Gw2.exe”. I have seen (in other online forums) “memory could not be read” messages point to the graphic driver’s dll etc. Also, this is a workaround, not a solution, and I hope that it can be fixed soon!

Hope it helps someone! I’m just glad that my memory is not corrupted. My apologies for the disemvowelment in the topic title, there is a 45 char limit!

P.S To any mods, I submitted this crashes against general guidelines only because I had a potential workaround which I wanted to share, and that this problem seems to pop up on and off over the months, for some even before the feature patch. I hope you can keep it on if it’s helpful!
