Im in your Castle Piken, chilling on the roof
Sigh… I have ran it as often as I could muster up the energy to and I have managed to collect enough bubbles to buy 11 weapon skins across my characters. during this time I have had a grand total of 1 skin drop in the form of a longbow. Some people get all the luck
Still, I love the Instance and have no regrets spending a lot of time in there
Yes I must say VcY, like many among Gunnars I’ve had my run-ins with you guys and not always come out the other end in one piece. However most of my negative feeling towards you have melted away after seeing your light hearted humour on this thread
All your base are belong to us!
was a hell of a night, loved the mini- golems that kicked it all off.

I’m thinking they may have decreased the pop limit on WvW maps to try and help their new culling system seem more efficient. Just my thoughts, but yes there is definitely something not right.
Yeah and it was nice to see both WSR and RoF actually causing a nuisance last night. Good fights
Greetings from Gunnars.
Have to say I’m a bit disappointed in WSR tonight. For the first time in our weeks of fighting you guys I feel that tonight was the first time you guys have actually used a cheap trick/bug abuse against us.
You guys triggered a breakout event even though you had 2 towers and your keep. What gives? Been having a great fight with you guys in EB tonight, I’m sure you will agree. Even though we have been pushing you in EB hard you have been pushing back and giving as good as you got. Suddenly you feel the need to abuse this glitch( as I’m sure the event is not supposed to activate unless you own no structures in a map) in order to take back a tower. Obviously its just a tower, and not even upgraded so there wasn’t much damage done(apart from the 3 trebs we had inside hitting Overlook) I just feel a bit disappointed to end a good night of action on a move like this.
for 300-325 I recommend making peach cookies, you can buy peaches in bulk from a karma vendor(ill let you figure out which one) and cookie dough can be made easily from ingredients sold by master chef.
Also as a tip, id buy plenty of peaches as they will also help you get from 350-400 fairly cheaply once you figure out how to use them
I am also suffering from this, tried to join WvW from a PvE map and it kicked me.
When we saw that your Hills still have over 1k supply, we decided no to siege it, but to go EB instead, where we were pushed by GH. But I have to admit it that it was fun in WSR BL last evening, and we had a little payback for you guys regularly stalking our Hills
So were you the rotten sods that appeared out of nowhere in EB, went straight to take Quentin with 3 rams and 3 catas, and almost took Durios until we organised? Where the hell did you go after that? you vanished as fast as you appeared…
Im sittin here at work worried about SM… what’s happening today? any more awesome fights in there?
Slow evening of achieving very little for us. RoF are just everywhere in bigger numbers, the only place we could hold you was our own border where you still outnumbered us a lot of the time.
Saw very little of GH this evening but looking at EB i guess you have been there.Seems like our server is doing its usual when the tough gets tough it gets going.
Nowhere near the numbers we had last night and as soon as we hit a couple of bumps half our zerg went back to PvE. Still having a blast tho see you all soon
Are you kidding? Your server has been fantastic this weekend! Even more of a threat than RoF most of the time. Last night for instance in EB your team had a line of 6 trebs in overlook hitting SM and it took the best part of 2 hours to get them destroyed and evict you from our castle.
As for RoF in EB the past couple days, it seems to be one massive struggle for Klovan. when we (Gunnars) have it, we push you back into your keep and take your towers. When you have it, it gets filled to the brim with trebs and before we know it we have 2 walls down on SW SM with you setting up a camp site on our outer walls.
Loving the fight so far, Yes Gunnars have been in control for the weekend but lets see what the week will bring. Good fights all
I know the little bit of wall you are talking of, and no, you don’t need it for the achievement. Just keep trying. If you can’t get it by the time I get home from work(2-3 hours time) since its Christmas ill hop in an instance and help you get it
Killing in PvP is not grieving, be it 1 guy in a jumping puzzle or 100 guys. It is a PvP zone and unless they were glitching/hacking/boosting there is no argument against them killing you. All this thread is is one guy who has a strop on because he got frustrated he couldn’t get what he wanted. Please either listen to the advice of people who posted earlier and take a break for a while then try again, or go to a different Borderland jumping puzzle. Don’t try to rally people to your point of view(and yes, this is your opinion, not fact as you call it) just to make yourself feel more righteous.
PvP is PvP. the jumping puzzle is located in PvP and therefore follows the same guidelines of player killing.
I am spot on about my comment. You want to give artificial boosts to the losing side. Supposedly to keep it interesting.
How interesting do you want it to be?Any boost would translate in pointgain, one way or another. And the pointgain skews the score of the stomping server. Which is then reflected in the way tiers are balanced. Slowing down the rate at which a server can move up or down. Servers will be stuck in tiers not fitting them for longer.
Im in a hardcore WvW guild, with many other hardcore WvW players. And we find this change to be very uninteresting. It forces us to keep a large presence on a borderland where no fighting is going on for the offchance a server kicks off this event.
And the result in nightime WvW is clear. Where all servers dont have a full presence the result is that every server sits on their borderland, unable to move enough people to another borderland to start a fight because it makes it to easy to get countered. And every borderland has the color of the server it belongs to and thats about all the action going on.
No artificial boosts, no PvE events. If you cant take a tower, then you dont deserve a tower. Kinda like, if you dont have a nightcapping crew you dont deserve to get nightpoints? Eh Arenanet? https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/wuvwuv/Night-Capping-and-YOU/first
Would be nice if Arenanet would start communicated with the WvW players. Instead of assuming what changes might appease the casual WvW players that show up once in a blue moon to QQ about how kittenty their server is then ragequit.
Thanks for the on topic reply.
So what you are saying is this event chain has now forced you to pay more attention to maps that before, you had completely shut out the enemy teams, and that is “uninteresting” for you? Personally I don’t see how having a better challenge from your opponents can be more uninteresting.
As for rage quitting and QQing(love that phrase) I do agree that you can’t let people who are upset about losing control how the game develops. However, in this instance, giving a team that is completely stomped a bit of help getting a foothold on the map… I honestly cannot see why so many people don’t like this. Its one tower. not even a keep. Just one tower that gives the overpowering forces a target instead of spawn killing(which is no sport at all). People seem to be complaining for the sake of it. Not only that, but its the WINNING servers that are complaining. those are the guys who are getting a lot more enjoyment out of the game than the losing teams are. So if it helps gee on the underdogs and gets them back in the fight, why can they not support this idea that will actually give them more people to kill?
Edit: just read the guys post above me. He make words sound more gooder than I.

What would you have them do? Are you all seriously saying you prefer it to be a one sided fight where one team is bored of not having any opponents to kill, and the other teams are annoyed at not being able to put up a fight? That is what makes people leave WvW. Giving a handicap to a losing side can only help keep things interesting. If it wasn’t a PvE solution it would have to be a PvP solution which would mean giving some players buffed stats/armour. Now you try and tell me THAT wouldn’t cause arguments in this game.
So what do you want instead, artificial means to keep scores a little closer? That server stomping you is still stomping you. But the place on the map has slightly changed.
But now that servger might not get enough points to move out of your tier. Gratz, youre up for another week of getting stomped.Ive seen it happen so many times that servers change tier based on just a few points. Just last week we (Deso) pretty much stomped Kodash and Millers. And we moved from tier3 to tier2 on mere single digit points.
Had Miller and Kodash used events like this the difference wouldve been slightly smaller. They wouldve still been stomped, but odds are we would still be in tier 3 this week aswell. Stomping them again, instead of the point system balancing things out.
you have completely ignored what I said and just gone off in a direction above moving up and down tiers…
I usually go with the Jumping Puzzle, can get around 6 giant presents every 5-10 minutes assuming you don’t fall. Also depends on how fast you do it so you make the next rotation before the people waiting are put on the puzzle.
This^
Once you get good at it, you can collect your 3 presents from the end chest, and frequently get back to the start area, just before the next run begins.
If you were NOT the last one left, I think you have a few vital extra seconds to make it back… because it seems to wait until everyone has either fallen or made it to the end.
The timer seems to run in conjuction with your health bar, excluding any damage from excessive falling damage/other dangers. so if your fast enough and make it through the puzzle with 15% or so health left, it will give you a few seconds to get in, loot chest, and get back to spawn area before the next round starts.

Man, Whiteside, you guys have gotta help us out with Dzagonur instead of side-swiping us when we push their towers in EB! That’s 2 night in a row we hit Anzolas, Mendons, and then move across to Ogre(where we normally get slaughtered) only to see you guys knocking down our towers while we aren’t looking!
Yes, Anet could be so kind as to fix culling and free server transfers. They do need fixing, and I’m sure Anet are hard at work trying to figure out the best solution to keep everyone happy.
However I am happy with this update. I can’t understand how people that are winning a map are complaining that their opponents are getting a little help. Its not as if this is going to turn the tide of a match, it doesn’t effect close matches only one-sided ones. I play on Gunnar’s Hold, a EU server that hasn’t won a match in the past 7-8 weeks at least. Quite often when I get home from work I would struggle to find more than one or two supply camps in our colour ACROSS THE ENTIRE 4 MAP WORLD.
Surely giving us the means to get a footing on a map and give our overpowering enemies a challenge instead of a dull player hunt is a good thing? Try to look at it from a losers perspective instead of just from the winners… After all we all want to have fun don’t we?
Why not have a badge thread.
I have 616 in total (number of the beast, ooh yeah).
Not sure what i’m to do with them though.
Buy 102 rams and go nuts in WvW, the people will love you for a day if you drop 5 rams on every tower or keep.
Currently 1952 badges, I don’t know what i’m gunna do with them as the Armour doesn’t appeal to me and I have an arsenal of siege available from jumping puzzles.
shame to see everyone jumping ship and leaving Gunnars. The guild i was in decided to do the same and I’m kinda disappointed in them. the only reason they did was because of a bad evening and a few failed raids… we all have those but it doesn’t mean you have to throw a hissy fit and join the winning team… sigh…
Even when you are wiped off a map theres still work to be done. you start by raiding camps and hitting yaks… try and build up some momentum and hit a tower if you can. if that fails you fall back and try somewhere else. no need to throw bodies at a wall time after time trying to knock it down when you can slip a few rams at a tower that’s deep into enemy territory and not expected to be hit…
so yeah, Gunnars may be a bit short of quantity at the moment, but there’s still a few of us here willing to keep fighting
Well… the theory is nice, but is this actually more cost effective than just letting them have it and taking it back when they leave? Siege equipment can add up and the upgrade isn’t that expensive.
That depends upon many factors. The cost of the supply camp’s upgrades is not the only thing to consider. The Dolyaks departing from the camp help to build upgrades at keeps, which are much more expensive. They are also much harder to recapture once lost.
The enemy’s behaviors must also be examined. Some camps can be easily defended by one ballista and an arrow cart if the enemy is sending smaller strike teams.
Lastly, it isn’t only the upgrade costs you can lose by leaving camps undefended. It can also hurt the morale of the individuals who consistently upgrade them, only to see them lost on a whim. Keep in mind that siege weapons can be acquired without spending gold or badges by completing the jumping puzzles on any of the four WvW maps.
The only problem is while you were continuously holding the enemies off the camp, none of the yaks made it to any towers because they couldn’t make it past the enemies outside the camp. If you had let them take the camp, and take it back 5mins later when they had moved on, you would of let dolyaks actually leave the camp and go on their rounds.
Still, I know this sort of thing is fun and i cant say that if I had been there id have done things any different in the heat of the moment, nice vid
I have 1100 kills and 400 badges, 1 of 6 kills gives badge, but taking supply or tower gives often 2 badges, and that’s good , but 1 of 6 kills is frustrating i often get some 20 copper drop.
Haven’t done jumping puzzle because some dude told me chest drops 5 badges and rare item which is bloody bad and an hour or two of jumping for 5 badges just isn’t my style.
set is about 300 badges /item that’s about 2400 more or less, and weapons are 396 so 800 for 2 weapons that’s a year of farming for 3200 badges
the Eternal battlegrounds JP can drop up to 15 or so badges, and should take around 10mins with no serious interruptions.
GH guy here,
Moved to this server 3 weeks ago, and the last 2 of those weeks have been the most fun I’ve had yet playing this game. every day I get home from work and look at the map, we are normally losing, but never wiped off. There is always a fight and its always awesome. whether its getting on EB and joining the 50th raid(failing raid I might add) on Stonemist only to get beat back by piken from the lords room, or going into the jumping puzzle and finding a few sneaky AM guys sitting with siege above the arena, or switching to the borderlands, blinking, and seeing AM or Piken borderlands get completely flipped green by our organised guilds.
Props to both Enemy Worlds, and thanks for the fights
badges are useless… it doesnt matter.
You need 500 badges as part of creating a legendary weapon. So if you plan to get a legend they certainly won’t be useless.
Well my point is, things that you can buy with badges arent that good and cannot get you motivated to collect more. And as for legendary, that item is not applicable for all. So…. for me imho, its useless.
Thats why I go wvw for the pvp and fun. not for the badges.
you do realize you can buy siege blueprints with badges right? 1 badge = 1silver against a siege weapon…
And in regards to badge drops, I have around 3500 kills and 1600 badges in my bank right now. Yes i do a lot of jumping puzzle, which might account for 1/3rd of those badges, but i still seem to get on average 1 badge every 3-4 kills. i also strongly believe that the more damage you do to an enemy, the more likely you are to get badges. sitting there with an arrow cart hitting a guy for 5×800 damage wont get as many badge drops as going full dps on a guy in a fight. Could be wrong, but i do get a lot higher badge drop % when im out roaming and killing people in small groups than i do sitting on a wall with siege.
its because of salvaging, you get a 1 in 4 chance of getting orichalcum ore from those items with a master salvage kit, and since ore is getting back up close to 4s, it would make sense that people buy these to salvage instead of buying ore.
Sorry for not having an answer to your question, but I’m curious as to how many tabs is the limit? I currently have 4 tabs and it looks like there might be space for 3 more, just need to keep an eye on it.
Hoo rah!
moved to this server a couple weeks ago for several guild related reasons, really happy with the guys around and I’m not going anywhere any time soon!
They already have a few of these in the borderlands’ northernmost supply camps, you have villagers guards etc. I don’t see why they cant do the same for the keeps n castles except for the issue of too many NPCs.
The trait that increases stance duration by 25% does not work on endure pain.
