From my understanding, downed state is meant to help in a game where there are no healers. In PvE, I’ve seen it be quite effective.
But let’s use a scenario in SPvP. It’s two on three.
Team 1: guardian, warrior, thief.
Team 2: warrior and ranger
Team 1 kills a thief, and he falls into downed state right away. One player goes to pin him, when he teleports back behind his team. Now two players are attacking team 2 and there is virtually no way to pin that thief without dying, so he rezes. Now it’s still three on one despite for all intents and purposes killing the other player. The best that can be done by team 2 is for the ranger to attempt to shoot down the downed thief, which will almost always fail given the players in this scenario. Warrior would bull’s charge, savage leap, any number of things. It is a certain victory for team 1 in any scenario (unless they’re unbearably awful). In most games, 3v2 isn’t necessarily unreasonable odds at all, but with the downed state, it disbalances the game.
Even 1v1 the downed state is causing problems. For example, I had to spend probably a minute pinning down a kitten thief who kept using downed abilities. This was 1 minute which was essentially wasted time because there was no chance he’d live.
Of course, SPvP isn’t everything, so let’s look at WvW. If one team is bigger than the other by a certain amount, downed players will constantly be revived on the bigger team (given they stay within range of the group), meaning that it plays down to numbers more than skill in WvW. We all know that isn’t what GWII is about.
My suggestion? Simply delete the downed state from PvP.
What we should have is a purchasable guild cape, which will apply a GWI style cape skin to your backslot. Sold at WvWvW vendors
It’d be nice to get a basic idea of a player. Their location, level, name of the character they’re currently playing, class, etc. This would allow people to get a quick idea of a person and has multiple uses.
Perhaps it would even be cool to have something like return the event they’re in, or a link to the nearest waypoint to them
[Dark Crowz] level 80 human female warrior; in event [example event], near [example waypoint]
I don’t get why this is hard to do. Is it really even hard to implement? just a few get methods and a simple string/char array manipulation that prints to chat.
Quick and easy for ArenaNet to implement, players will love it.
Here’s the idea: a small addition to the character that will allow the player to customize make-up just as they customize armor.
Dyes will be available for eyeshadows, lipsticks, etc. Different themes of make-up could be sold as a pack, for example, “The Goth”… which would have abyss black eyeshadow and blood red lipstick.
Simple and easy. Cash shop item.
Alright, so I am level 80, have about 300 shards of Zhaitan and 200 skill points but notice you can get legendaries, somehow.
Can someone explain the process of getting a legendary axe?
