We’re still looking for people!
Looking for some serious no-lifers this summer!
Always be recruiting!
Bump! Bump! Bump!
Hey Everyone,
Evocative [eC] consists of a small group of very experienced raiders on the EU servers. We’re looking to recruit some more players to both increase our roster size, and to get more people in who are free and eager to raid multiple times a week, we usually raid at 18:30 GMT (UK time).
To that end, we are looking to recruit very experienced raid players who not only know their class very well, but who have a positive attitude and are capable of having fun, as well as being able to accept constructive suggestions or criticism.
We are not a teaching guild, so before applying please make sure you know each raid encounter very well and know how to take responsibility for your own gear and any utility/trait/food changes between encounters.
Currently our set raid times are:
Monday Raid Night: 17:00 UK time
Wednesday Raid Night: 18:30 UK time
Thursday Tryhard Raid Night: 17:00 UK time
As well as alt-clears etc. on the weekends!
Expectations/Requirements:
• We expect applicants to be able to play at least two classes at a high level in raid encounters, one of them being either Chronomancer, Druid or Engineer.
• We require full ascended gear and best in slot food to be used at all times. As a result we will require you provide an API key to one of our leaders.
• TeamSpeak3 is mandatory and you will need to have a mic and be willing to communicate with the rest of the group.
• We want you to want to play with us, to grow with us, and to have an interest in always bettering our kill times and personal skill level. We ARE NOT a Monday kill clear group that you can use to shard cap then not play with us again until the following Monday.
• You don’t have to represent us all the time if you don’t want to, only when we raid together will it be required. We do, however, want you to treat us as your main raiding guild.
What you can expect from us:
• A group of players who are always aiming to get better and push our kill times.
• Players who are open to receive and give constructive feedback
• Players who love doing low man raid runs and schedule them as often as possible, something we hope you will also be interested in.
• Small, social and friendly community.
There will be a trial before you can join us. This is to determine whether you have the experience and ability that we’re looking for, but also to find people who we think we can get along and have fun with. Firstly, we’ll need you to do the standard DPS golem tests and go through a quick gearcheck, after which you’ll raid with us to see how you play for real during the encounters, then we’ll take it from there. We highly encourage running a dps meter (arc or bdgm) and if possible, set up shadowplay/ obs for PoV recordings.
Please contact Lizard.4320 through mail or whisper in game if you have any questions about joining us, the trial, or anything else.
Thanks!

I’ve got to admit I had a bad day in fractals today, but I realised I pretty much have no chance to save myself from a fractal avenger. In 4/4 cases I was only teleported at most 50 units from my original location, while I’m used to it at least blinking some distance away. (Though rarely in the direction I would like).
tldr; Are there any tricks to the downed skill #2 that I should know of?
How big is the Gw2.dat supposed to be? Just checked my own and it’s 30GB.
I haven’t experienced any change in Gorseval’s behavior or damage, and I run this fight almost daily. My best guess is that for whatever reason your group is now doing poorly with killing the spirits that he consumes that boost his damage. Each one he eats will increase both his personal damage as well as the environment damage (aka “haunting aura”). So check if you guys are actually dealing with the spirits, maybe you have a different comp/teammates and no one is focused on killing them anymore or something.
You see the screenshot? That’s taken from the start of the fight, with no orbs or spirits present. I went in and aggroed Gorseval, then ran around until I died. There doesn’t seem to be any mechanic tied to this damage.
I’m pretty convinced that this is a bug, as I’ve heard from others that they didn’t notice any changes this week.
I’m pretty sure the haunting aura was there from day 1.
I know he’s always had the aura, but has it always hit this hard? I’ve never had any problems staying alive on Gorseval previously…
My group has been rushing through VG and Gorseval easily for the past three weeks.
Today we actually quit on Gorseval because we were all struggling to stay alive, because we were all taking so much damage from something called “Haunting Aura”, especially the tempests had no chance at staying alive.
Thing is, I have never noticed this DoT before, I’ve never had problems staying alive.
I’m being hit for ~1400 damage on average 14 times a minute, is this a bug?
I think right now they’re just doing this to promote Leagues, spread awareness, get players curious about getting that icon!
I’m hopeful they will change it in the future.
You can be unhappy about it all you want, but fact of the matter is, the departments work separately from each other and don’t always communicate what made it into the current live build for the patch. Small or big change doesn’t matter.
There’s not conspiracy about “lets not tell them this.” It’s simply a matter of miscommunication or lack of any communication at all.
Does it suck at times? sure. Is there things they could do to improve it, of course, but there is always room for improvement. The community will figure it out as they do in every other game that is around that has updates on a regular basis.
Yes it sucks, yes I am unhappy about it. But I do not understand your eagerness to defend the status quo when there is an obvious room for some significant improvement.
If what you’re saying is true, then there’s an even bigger underlying issue here. Now that I think of it, it’s becoming more apparent that there is a severe lack of communication internally at ANet. Especially now in regards to the Mystic Forge Stone “incident”.
Some of the changes (especially in this patch) are so impactful they should absolutely be in the patch notes, a prime example being the Steal change. Imagine a player reading the patch notes, then jumping straight into his first tPvP match of the season, and then loosing the game because of this change to steal, do you understand how that causes outrage?
Saying that it’s up to the community to fill out the blanks in every single patch is such a cop-out, and is definitely not the way it should be. ANet could save themselves a lot of outrage if only they had better patch notes, and maybe this is a good place for them to start fixing the poor communication in-between teams?

As I said, I don’t expect every tiny change to be put in the notes, however I’m really not happy that Anet keeps pulling these ninja changes without a word in the patch notes. Some of these things are pretty big changes and the community should be told about them. I’m getting pretty annoyed with the: “let’s only let them know about half the stuff we’re changing” policy that we’ve had for this game pretty much since launch.
Greetings, Community!
I did the Tarir meta immediately after patching today, and once the event finished I was awarded seven exalted keys. And I thought to myself, “the patch notes didn’t say anything about this!”. This was basically the straw that broke the camels’ back.
After having played Guild Wars 2 for over 2.5 years, and downloaded hundreds of patches with probably a total thousand or more undocumented changes following them. I want to know what’s up.
So I decided to get out there, see how much is really missed in the patch notes.
I made a post on Reddit, asking people to tell me what changes they had found that weren’t in the patch notes.
It can be found here.
Currently the list contains at least 25 items that are so major they would’ve been mentioned in the patch notes of any other game.
Take for example the changes to the Dreamer, Kudzu and Flameseeker Prophecies. Why wasn’t this in the patch notes? I understand this change if your reasoning is: “we like players finding out things like this for themselves, as it creates discussion in the community.”
There are plenty of inexcusable changes however, just to mention a few:
- You now get exalted keys from completing the Tarir defense event.
- Exalted chests have a small chance to give keys back.
- The guaranteed egg from Chak Gerent.
- The Superior Rune of the Revenant recipe being discover-able for armor crafting professions.
There is absolutely no reason any of these should not be listed in the patch notes!
Is your thought that “oh surely no one will notice this tiny change”, “players will figure this out on their own” or “players will appreciate these reward buffs and not ask questions.”
Well, you’re wrong. I’m not alone when I say: if the rewards from Auric Basin were improved, I would like to know by how much! Let’s put it this way: If a change is large enough to be noticed by at least one player, it should be in the patch notes!
I think it’s time you revised your process of creating these patch notes. I imagine the way you do it now is having poor Rubi running around the office, the day before, asking every single member of the team what they’ve done for the patch. So maybe the fact that Steal now requires a target was missed because Karl was out for the day. (Unless it’s a bug, which I really, really hope it is).
I hope you’ll take my feedback into consideration, seeing as getting patch notes done right is more important than you seem to believe. Of course I understand that your game (and team) is massive, and I don’t expect you to remember every single little detail, but this is seriously not good enough. This set of patch notes wasn’t a one-off, this is a trend that I’d like to see rectified.
Best regards,
A player that would like to see fewer undocumented changes in the next patch, aka Lia.
Yep, same thing here! It’s happened about three times over the last 2 hours, been in Kessex Hills all this time.
Been playing since April’13, never had any crashes before.
Classes:
1: Ranger
2: Elementalist
3: Engineer
Here’s my reasoning:
Rangers need a serious change/upgrade to their pet AI and their ways to control them. An idea is also to reduce the Ranger’s dependence on their pet, maybe even allowing them to fight without one. Seeing as the “fix” to their sword auto-attack chain is being fixed, this is a huge improvement. Rangers also need some help in PvP, the fact that there’s only ONE viable build (spirits) is really boring. Also, in PvE, most utility skills are pretty useless.
I am NOT saying that Elementalists are bad, they are incredibly good in PvE as well as WvW. However, they really need some help in PvP. Also, the conjoured weapons need some kind of a rework, I would propose getting rid of the charge system.
Earth Shield: (no input here).
Ice Bow: Buff on the 1 and 2 skill. Increase damage/healing on #1, give people an incentive to actually auto-attack. Double the vulnerability stacks on #2. Change condition duration to something else, why would you want condition duration when the Ice Bow hardly applies any conditions?
Flame Axe: Again, why would you want Condition Damage on this weapon when the only condition you apply is burning? The skills are fine, but the weapon is severely limited by the charge system.
Lightning Hammer: I feel this weapon is good in its current state, however it suffers from the same issue as the Flame Axe. Please remove the charge system!
Fiery Greatsword: The 3, 4 and 5 skills are fine as they are, however the 2 skill is pretty useless as it only applies burning, and no direct damage. And AGAIN with the random stat buffs! Condition damage?!
Engineers will be poor in high-end PvE until condition damage is made viable in some way, unless something is done to improve their direct damage in some way. My suggestion is that the Engineer is given another weapon set, such as a hammer.
I would like to add my frustration to this post, this week I’ve been lagging like crazy. Every other game works fine, but when playing Guild Wars 2 I’ve been hanging around 380+ ping constantly. This makes the game unplayable for me, and I would appreciate an official statement.
