First of all, thank you for all the answers!

To properly give you advice, we need some more specific info from you about your play style preferences. Do you like your combat complicated or simple? Do you like to glass cannon, or survive? Do you like to (primarily) support the group, or take out opponents? Ranged or Melee? Pets or No? Etc. Without this information you’re going to get back, at best, a lot of, “My favorite class is:” responses.

Something to keep in mind: there is no “right” class to play. Nor is there a “wrong” class to play. I’m not even sure there’s a proper fotm right now, just a few builds that garner more attention than others. So, really, this is all about what you would have the most fun playing.

- I’m sorry if my original text was unclear on this matter, let me rephrase myself. I enjoy my warrior, but found it to be a bit simple (in a lack of better words). I often found myself doing the same things over and over, and I rarely had to change tactics during mob encounters or in PvP. I found this to be a bit frustrating and boring – which is one of the reasons I don’t really want to play that profession anymore.

I’ve often seen myself as a person who enjoy “advanced” professions/classes, mainly because I find more satisfaction in mastering it. It also have to be said, that since I won’t have much time playing, it shouldn’t be so complicated that it’s something thats utterly impossible to learn unless you use a lot of time getting used to it. I’ve tried Mesmer, but found it to have too much depth for me to grasp without having to sit down for many hours a day to learn it.

I can see myself playing something ranged. Mostly because it looks fun, but also because I get the idea that playing ranged will give me space and breathing room to blast enemies away. I find the idea of glass canon fun, it seems fun – the question is: Is it possible to survive, or is the class just not designed to survive, at all? I don’t mind beeing squishy, but I’d like a chance to survive. Aswell as I don’t mind playing support or direct damage, even though I like direct damage dealing the most, I think.

Necro, elemantalist and theif sounds quite interesting.

Hey people! :-)

I’ve been here since before release, I loved GW2 from the first moment I laid my eyes on it. I’ve had a lot of experience in previous MMORPG’s, mostly WoW (no surprise there). Since release I played a lot on my warrior, and found it quite entertaining! I had to quit since I started my first year on the University, so go figure.

Here is my question. When I had to quit, I had grown tired of my warrior (which is level 34 I think). I had started experimenting with the other professions in the game – professions such as theif and elementalist have caught my eye. I don’t play a lot, and wont have time to do so either, I want to know how the game is currently – and which professions I should go back to. In WoW I played a shadowpriest and rogue a lot, and enjoyed it quite a bit. I want to play something like that again, my endgame focus will probably be on RvR etc.

Please, GW2 community – do you have any advice to which professions I should roll when I come back from my holidays? I would love to hear all of your suggestions and I would appreciate it if you could explain given statement.

I can’t wait to come back, I love the GW2 community!

PS: Sorry for bad English, it isn’t my native language, you see.

Sincerly,
Dane
