why dont you play a game that’s already established as an esport rather than trying to be good at a game with no population or competition?
Its much much easier to go “pro” in a game if you start playing right as that game comes out.
Attempting to go pro at any of the established esport games that have been out for years would take a heck of a long time, especially if you have no previous experience in the game type genre. (going from wow glad to league of legends pro, as an example)
People are dissapointed about lack of esports because it was said it would be an esports game. Its like expecting cake on your birthday and not getting any.

wat is this i dont even……
Kinda confused with the direction they wanted to go with some of the balance changes this patch (mesmer changes lolwut??? etc).
The balance alone doesn’t make me want to not play however, its simply not even worth it. The “competitive” pvp scene is completely dead (for na at least), and that coupled with questionable balance makes for a frustrating game for me to personally play.
I understand that this game is a work in progress pvp wise, but I think alot of people expected a really solid pvp scene within the first 1-2 months. I know people like to mention how league of legends was a really bad game for the first bit of its release, but the difference is that people went into gw2 expecting esports/competitive rdy pvp pretty much right away. With league noone expected anything and thus they weren’t disappointed when it didn’t happen for awhile.
People are just going to have to accept that gw2 pvp is not going to be even close to where it needs to be for awhile.
Just fyi, I’m doing frees atm and it appears to be 15 seconds now.
I’m still using EA for the dodge roll in water.
Thieves are still viable in tpvp.
I picked human because I thought the smaller character model for the asura would make my cool armor and weapons less noticeable.
Yet the only source not complaining about Thieves are people who actually play PvP competitively (aka. tPvPers).
Not true.
Pretty good post…
The pvp itself is the best in any mmo out there right now, even with some of the balance flaws that still need to be fixed.
That being said I do wish they could address the extremely varied skill lvls that are found in frees (and even paids). If I solo que in free tourneys I could be matched with people anywhere from rank 1-40 and against full teams and everything inbetween.
I know they want paids to be for the super srs tryhard teams and frees to be a mixup of everything, but I just wish they could even out the matchmaking a little to make it more enjoyable for new players and just players overall that are maybe solo queuing.
This game has such potential, just gotta wait for the pvp features to be added to make it a truly great pvp game.
Constantly crashing in tpvp. Its soooooo annoying having 2-3 players on your team crash per map, every map.
