We found the source of the problem. Frametime should be back to pre 3/10 patch times.
It was a bit harder to track since the issue only manifested itself in some hardware.
This thread was of great help to track the problem. Thanks!
Once again, We apologize for the inconvenience.
Thank you so much, Felipe! Really appreciate your hard work along with the others in finding and fixing the problem. /salute
Can confirm, just went on to download patch, and I’m getting the same fps now as I had before patch. Looks like they fixed it! Sooner than I thought too, gotta give Anet props. May have taken a week, but it was still fixed in a decent time given the scope of the issue
I looted the Colossus from the Frostreach Keep Champion in Eotm. That was a nice, unexpected surprise I’d say
Thank you so much Gaile for taking the time to reply to this thread. I think we can all agree a lot of us just wanted any sense of hope that the issue was acknowledged. A lot of us just love the game enough to want to see issues that affect gameplay like this one to get fixed, so we can get back to doing what we love. Thank you again!
I wonder are we allowed to maybe copy this thread over to the main discussion subforum as well? It seems devs tend to visit and comment on threads in that subforum the most. I feel like now after 3 more bug fixes and all the heat over the fps issue they are avoiding the bug report subforum all together. Maybe, if we replicate this thread on the main discussion subforum we can get more eyes on it and finally catch their attention.? I don’t know.. Just an idea. What does everyone else think? Just like everyone else, I would just like to hear anything from Anet at this point even if it’s just them acknowledging the issue.
I wouldn’t recommend starting a conversation in map chat about this issue either. I was just having a casual discussion about it after someone brought up bugs from the patch, and, long story short, I was told by a complete stranger that I’m poor and should kill myself for not upgrading my system. Nice to see the trolls now buying into the same logic that it’s individually to blame when there’s this many people, some with old and new computers, all experiencing the same problem. But of course, everything is our faults. The frustration is really starting to boil over. Please Anet just say something about this. I think everyone is just looking for a response at this point….
Having the exact same problem as everyone else. From the day I joined up until patch, I averaged 15 to 25 fps on low settings, now I get 3 to 5 fps everywhere including the least cpu intensive areas. I’ve been playing despite this, but I’ve ultimately avoided pvp, wvw, dungeons and all group content in general. I’m stuck to doing map completion and even there I struggle with poor frame rate. I don’t think I’ll continue to play if this isn’t resolved somehow. Such a shame too, because I really love this game. A response from an Anet official would be greatly appreciated if any of them are reading this. ????
