Would you consider necros as strong in pvp?

Necro in pvp are really good.
But not in the meta. War hammer stun lock necro, mesmer stun lock necro, thief stun lock necro, elem unless signet roll over necro, ranger seem a fair match, engie are more or less fair but tend to stun lock too.

With so much access (lol) to stab necro is just a ragdoll in some match. I never fell much useless than against an hammer war.

Beta Succes uselessness

I have found we have success for doing events chains in the beta. I come and play on the beta with a beta character.
I won some success.

I come back one of my main char… success aren’t validated and can’t come in beta map with my main char.

Ok, why do we have something like that if we can profit ?
Some solution :
-Beta account make the success elligible for the true account.
-True account char can come on the beta map.

Same, you can kill within 5 sec… if your target doesn’t evade/block/invul… as a standard shatter with much effort.

The only “good” thing, it’s the refresh for comp.

In game…
Not so easy with invul/evade/block fram on each class. And phant die too fast even with Dom/Ins/chrono.
It’s maybe a good phantasm build? But you really need to not be in fight and stike from far away.

OS for One shot : GS 4/ GS 2 /Evade /F1 and a corpse (if it was a full zerk without def stuff)

Phant reappear, but you can’t shatter in the F5 frame. The animation for phant take too long.
TW is for fast casting phant. With, or without you run out of time too soon. But with you less easily interruptable I think… If the ennemy don’t know what to do.

Again tested.
It’s easier to make the OS combo with the standard shatter than to chain phant. Chain which have a cast time longer than the combo for same result… only if you test against a golem. You won’t have the same result when you face something else.

I just tested :
- 3 clones
- F5
- Time warp
- Phant 1
- Signet
- Phant 1 bis
- Swap
- Phant 2
- Return in time.

You don’t have the time to do any shatter with 3 phant to spawn. Glad to TW i can have my 3 phant, witout Back In time come too soon for the 3rd phant.
At least it reset their CD…

In PVE, yeah, could be efficient. In PvP perspective I would laught.

Try with only 2 phant :
You can shatter… Once before back in time.

Truely, I would play it in pve. In pvp I don’t hope my phant staying that long.

Dead end for mantra real utility (PvE/PvP). Still viable, but not as enjoyable. I would prefer more CD and recharge when charged.

Mirror blade is a pure nerf too but I feel it less impactful…

Other are fine fix… but really mantra? They doesn’t deserve it !

Hello everyone !

I’m glad to say I spend too much to read this forum !
I found funny how players react to each specialization.

First, the mesmer. When the “Chronomancer”, was annonced, we could
have read "YEAH! ". When shield was annonced has specialization weapon
many complaint have occured, many wanted pistol MH. When the full spe
was revealed it was mostly a good thing for many mesmers. Even the
shield with only 2 skill sound good.

Second, the guardian. Before the specialization was annonced, many
wanted a bow for longe range attack. “Dragonhunter” was annonced, with
bow. Nobody care about bow, but complaint about the name of the
specialization and traps appears. Finally the super supportive ranged
guard is now a ranger (Zerk) without pet, like some comments. Yay, but
guardian can’t be more supportive than he is already and many guard
will look forward this specialization.

Third, the necromancer. Many necromancer wanted a close weapon with
cleaves and CC. Reaper come. They have a GS, many chill (one of the
most annoying condition in pvp/wvw), shoot which does damages. And an
über-cool DS with a scythe (look and damage). They are not happy. Why?
Too slow. I will exagerate : many wanted a big dagger to do extrem
damages (fast, strong, CC, and the coffee).And shout do too little
damage and have a cast time. Of course it’s cool to spam insta damage.
It’s exagerated, I have only keep the most biaised comment, many
necromancer are ok,with the reaper like that on paper and wait to try
it.

Fourth, the elementalist. “Give us sword MH, our dagger is soooo
useless” “Bolt look so cool on my elem!” We can or not agree, but
before warhorn confirmed there were so many complaint about it. Like a
shield for mesmer. Now we known they have shout too.
I will look forward if tempest fit my elementalist. It’s could be at least !

I wanted to share the progression of thread in some class forum.
Personaly I don’t comment, except with guildmate. Each tine ANet
surprise me. Their development team is really good. They do their best
to think outside the box. We can be ok with or not but it’s always a
surprise. It’s always a good work or a least a step, in a direction
the class needed. Not always the voiced player base wanted
:D

One of my guild mate spreed (unvolontary) a rumor about power being in calculation for condition damage.

Wiki : nothing (except a guardian trait)

Patch note : Nothing, but maybe I had miss a lign after many post …

So I ask here. Maybe someone know where he could have read it ? Or confirm my thought that it’s just nothing serious.

Hi !

Yesterday I had encounter one unsolvable problem. I was going in factal 9 for the daily with only new player. Ok, the last boss in grawl fractal isn’t the easier. But I wasn’t expected to see them wipes when the boss go to 75%. More or less 10 times in a row.

It’s an easy level, even if the boss hit hard, and even with as much reflect as I can provide as a mesmer they keep dieing.

I will ask them which problem they meet, but I ask what should I say them. Which advice do you give to your “young” player?

I see you point, but for me the AoE stability mantra is… WTF only 2 sec, you press the button and it’s already finish. Can’t be pro active, only reactive for me. It’s like veil, without PU 2 sec is too short for me.

And blink make us able to skip some dungeon part.

But you’re true for the condi cleanse. It’s usefull for only 2 charges?

When the 6/4/0/0/4 build is better than the 5/4/0/5/0 ? Phants must stay how long in the play to become most effective? (2 swordman and 1 duelist each time)

I want to ask too : how do you get fury? Only ally? Some sigil?

Hi every one !
I’m glad to see some of the “superstars” here , Thanks all for your answer and tips ^^

As a general respons I play (generaly, exception for my HL fractal were I PUG) in a casual pve environment, so I don’t mind spend more or less 20 second to do my 300k dmg. I don’t do any solo rush either.
It’s for this reason I don’t like the scholar rune : I used it, and spend too much time with less than 90% life => And optilmized build is useless if you play with less experimented player.
I know I lose against math, i don’t have any pretention to come with “Hey guys, i have found the best DPS build ever !!!!”, I’m more “Hey guys, I wanted to share a good but not realy shared way to play your phantasm build.”
Also I must say I don’t like mantra, I don’t realy play them (MoR for May Trin for me and my more casual friend is an exception). I GW1 iI don’t liked them, I’s better but not enought for me in GW2. Too long cast (but a less longer it would be op too I think).

Ross : As explained in my first post I use Focus and Pistol as OH, i switch often and the build don’t allow (of course) all possibility. I switch trait depending the situation.

Xyonon : You’re right, but in open world (SW, I look at you) I feel the need for my GS because be melee can realy problematic. I realy hoped for a pistol MH for double trait it. I’m curious with the shield. (yes I’m a little persistent)
There is a discussion about the iSwordman : he deal less damage but more often than other?

Fay : I had ever look, re-read yesterday, the sticked post. Really interesting, but as said full optimisation isn’t my goal, yes i want to make a maximum amount of damage, but do not want to go in the 6/6/0/0/2 than each optimized class play. And mostly don’t realy want to play mantra, I just don’t like them.

Frifox : you have forgot the “with phantasm” in your quote. It’s a phantasm build, just because I like to cast my duelist and /sleep or /dance front of a boss and say “See, I work three time harder than you all”. ^^ … Ok, that last point it’s just for my fun.

I will switch my dear Mender purity fo prestige mastery, is signet mastery better than GS trait?

Firstly, I’m sorry if i make some mistake in english.

My purpose here is to share with you my build, a pve one.
I use it in open world event and dungeon/fractale.

- The build was build to do a maximum damage with phantasm and by ourselves.
- I often swith trait : I usualy play GS-SW/P/F … It wasn’t cheap to do all this ascended stuff
- If i’m sure I won’t use my focus I change for Inspiration II : Glamour mastery, If I don’t use my pistol I switch for Duel IV : Blade Training
- Phantasm are too squishy for Persisting Image and Signet of Illusions to be usefull IMHO.
- It’s more survivable than a pure zerk build, plus the regen given by the phantasm is fine!

My gameplay:
Long ranged fight : start with Sw/P => iDuelist > Signet of Ether > iDuelist > switch GS > iZerker > AA
Close ranged fight : start wi GS => iZerker > switch Sw/P > iDuelist > Signet of Ether > iDuelist > AA

That’s for the generic case of course!

I need a way a to have a reliable fury for freeing my adept trait of Duel.

What do you think about-it? I know it’s slightly different from the generic phantasm way with Phantasmal Haste.

One day i have done a mythic match in soloQ = > 4 mesmer+1 other (my team) vs 4 ranger +1 other.
Ranger op?

Maybe, when we reflect all their skill 2 it’s like instakill, if not just give a second to cast any spell for finish. Be carefull, use the land and it’s easier.

Hi,
firstly i’m sorry if i make some mistake, english isn’t my mother tongue.

Secondly i want to let you see an fun, but maybe really problematic bug. My elementalist is able to create clone. I don’t know how, but it’s often when i fight a mesmer.

I play shatter mesmer, maybe his friend would do same ? ^^

It’s not juste a graphic bug, the clone attack and disapear in cloud of pink butterflies.

In the picture, cou can see my opponent, a mesmer, who attack my “clone”. I don’t know if they are harmful, but it’s deceiptive.
