I’ve had a lot of luck with my ranger. Kiting is pretty simple with them. Though, as someone said, some are just crazy hard and could never be solo’d, but many can be.

Unless they’ve changed their policy about it in the past 24 hrs, that’s what I’d guess. I would put in a petition/ticket for formality’s sake. However, from what they told me, they’re not giving out influence that didn’t take.

I got GM response that they won’t/can’t give influence that didn’t show up in your guild’s influence pool. Took 2 weeks to get a response.
It’s also been weeks since any anet responded to this thread.
I don’t think this is a priority for them.

I ran into one of these today.
An ogre camp in charr zone.
Ogres inside, open door, couldn’t walk in because of invisible door.
And, there’s never a door there so I don’t know what that was about.

Annnd we’re on page 23 with the same problems and no update.
Influence not working properly.
Got permissions working for about 5 mins before it stopped again.
At least tell us you’re reading or trying to fix this.
Dev forum track shows you’re responding – but to much silliness – and not to your huge problems.
Guilds are breaking up because of this.

Going on a full day of this being broken still.

Many people pushing this have some misconception that the dungeons are the game. Instant dungeons will wear out the content (that is only a small amount of game play) very fast. Then, the inevitable roar for more dungeons – creating this casual dungeon crawling situation that WoW has and that people have grown to hate. They are (hopefully) not going to follow that same destructive path here.
This is a different kind of game.
Embrace it. There are too many clones out there.

Again where is the argument in this? Is this how you feel? So far its only opinions and making friends since people can’t make real life friends now?

Anyway, right now people are still leveling to 80 and within a few months its populations will start to go down (not die). So far most people only want to do AC for the glow weapons or CoF because that armor usually looks the best for most classes, I already witness people spamming for TA explore for over an hour already and my server is full. So either way something is going to be done eventually since the masses are calling for it.

The only reason people -I think ‘masses’ to be a gross overstatement- are calling for it is because of the habits they are bringing over from other games. Nobody is saying that it would not be more convenient. In fact, that same convenience is the actual lead in to the problem that games like world of warcraft have. It creates an instant and casual environment that wears out the dungeons, makes them grind fests for loot instead of the more difficult tiny portions of the game that they are made for – skilled, pre-made groups. There are no casual walk through’s in this game. These are ‘nearly’ exact quotes of what anet has said already. Read interviews about this topic for the bulk of it. I don’t think we’ll be seeing this put in because it simply isn’t needed.

So we should also get a guild join instant queue, and events instant queue, story arcs instant queue in case you want to do someone else’s or bring along someone? Why just dungeon? Why not everything instant and handed to you so you can anonymously blend in and not socialize in an MMO? Why only ask for dungeon queue?
It’s because of the habits from WoW and clones.

Dungeon queue is just as silly as those other queues would be. Make friends or just chat with others around or guildmates and make a group for events, story arcs, heart runs or yes – a dungeon. We don’t need the instant, nameless, chatless, casual, faceless grindfest in this game.

Once people adapt to a new game, they’ll be out there doing events and changing the world like the rest of us.

Day 7 of my guild not receiving the proper influence from events, etc.
This is possibly gone on longer, but a week ago is when I noticed and started asking for help about it.

Can we get some kind of update about influence missing in guilds on this 21 page thread, please?

I never said a thing about what you can and can’t have.
If you want it, that’s perfectly fine. Be grown about it.
I’m simply saying this is not world of warcraft where everything is handed to you.

Making teams is very simple. Servers are packed. Talk to people around you.
Adapting to a new kind of game is a good thing. Everything’s the same out there.
What you want is your business and it’s fine.
It’s still not needed and resources can be used for much more important things.

It won’t let you sell it below vendor price.
It will let you set up that you wish to buy it below vendor price.
But you can’t sell to them that low.
They are blocking one part and not the other so there’s still a problem.

This is truly annoying.
You can’t use ‘F’ to consult the Merchants because an RP NPC is in the way; either directly beside or nearly infront of them.
This forces us to run around them both until we know the merchant is highlighted or abandon the wonderful ‘F’ for mouse clicking.

It may not matter to some people, but this is my suggestion so I don’t care.
After tons of hours of game play, this is something that has frequently annoyed me so I wanted to make sure to bring it up.

For 6 days we’ve been getting no influence after doing events over and over.
Before that, the influence we got was 10 or so per event and dropped to 2.

You are allowing buyer prices to be as low as 1c.
Sellers cannot sell to lowest buyer because we are prompted when doing so that you can’t sell something if the price is lower than selling to vendor.

While in theory it’s good to know you could get more from the vendor, buyers that are willing to pay a price higher than 1c are being blocked and the 1c stays because nobody can buy it.

Please fix this. Not letting a buyer try to buy an item lower than vendor would help.

Egon, I think I get the same thing, but it doesn’t seem to have a pattern to it. I rarely have Firefox going when I play, since my game slows down some. It sounds like someone just hit a baseball out of the park, just a huge CRACK. I don’t think it is ever when I am in a battle, usually standing around or running.

same exact thing happening for me.
happens in and out of fighting with no clear reason.

I am guild leader.
All the rank permissions are checked for leader.
I cannot change MoTD, add ranks, customize them or anything like that.
This has been going on for 5 days.
Individuals are also not getting credit for influence earned.

The UI size change that we have is such a large difference.
For me, on small, the font in the trading post is funky.
A size higher has my chat box nearly vertically centered.
It’s very annoying not to be able to pull it down to the bottom where it would fit perfectly.

All of those UI mobility and customization suggestions are good ones.

Seriously though, I’d love to have more leisure activities like fishing in this game. Besides, in the game we already see npc’s fishing; so why can’t we?

We’re not talking about botting. Not even close.

The game needs mini activities so if you are doing something else that takes some of your concentration or presence from being in game, you can still interact in game to a point.

If you’re waiting on friends, if you’re reading a magazine, if you have a needy pet for a few minutes, etc.

Fishing would be a wonderful thing to have. Throwing your line out and catching a few things then finishing up a few pages of book or while something’s on commercial and having that flexibility is not something negative.

We need more things like that in this game.
If it’s not your thing then you shouldn’t really care.

There is no need for this in GW2.
If you solo and aren’t part of the bigger community then you can’t do this one small part of the game. There are plenty of events. There is plenty of explore.
Make a few friends then you can do that very minute part of the game.

My suggestion is for a /hide command option or a way to become anonymous so that my character name is not searchable and therefore won’t have to empty a mailbox full of spam at least twice a day.

An alternative to this would be sending a GM to the starter areas (where you cannot even read the map chat because it is completely overtaken) and banning these people from doing this. I am not sure if you are aware of this, but massive spam text in your game not only is harmful to people trying to use it, but it makes it look cheap and gives the feeling that you don’t care about spam or your player’s environment. However, a simple /hide would give me the power to stop the problem for my characters individually and not have to wait or hope on GM participation.

I am not sure how they are getting the list of names that they use, but if a /hide (anonymous) feature could get my name off of that list then I, and many others, would appreciate this.

Hopefully, this forum section isn’t just the ‘catch-all’ for complaints. I hope it is actually read by devs. There are wonderful suggestions here. If the devs are actually players then they surely would agree.

EDIT: I thought that the invisible mode feature via friends list might work, but it does not.

For me, I’ve noticed it a large loud sound that hurts my ears and happens a few times a day. I haven’t noticed if it happens when lots of people are around or not. It almost sounds like hitting a home run over loud speakers with reverb echo after it. It’s much louder than normal sound so I don’t know how I’d adjust settings to try to prevent it from hurting.

Edit: After reading more, it sounds like there are multiples of these. Mine isn’t happening in WvW or with loads of people and it does not crash my game. Just hurts my ears and startles me.

I agree that an easy way to report violations through the mail is needed but you can always create a violation report on the ncsoft website using the same tickets that were used for guild war I, and take a screen shot of the mail you recieved. It may not be the fastest way to report them but it does the job.

I suppose I could do that if there weren’t so many.
That’s a lot of game time spent doing what a simple system could fix.
Not to mention by the time I finish, I’d have more to do and that’s not plausible to expect that from a player.

I’m not sure if it’s that they forgot or just didn’t make it a priority. With the limited amount of mail you can have at a time, it all becomes very disconcerting.

Gear chasing is for the birds. Crazy dragons popping up randomly is much better.

I have not been able to find a way to report gold spammers through mail.
On Kaineng server I was getting them every 15 minutes (up to 5 at a time). They use Non-English character names (which at character creation says you can’t) and there’s no “right click, Report” option noticeable for mail. Also, /report (name) doesn’t work even when you can figure out how to type the letters they use.

Is there some way we can get an obvious and easy to use way to report these?
