This is done for technical reasons, not to give zergs an advantage.
I suggest playing with your gear while in WvW to see how it affects your stats.
My level 20ish guardian has very similar stats to my level 80 warrior with some exotics. However, this is only true if you have gear that is very good for your level. For instance, at level 20 I had all level 20 gear that was mostly green and my stats were very very similar to my 80 warrior. Then I leveled to 21 and I noticed my stats actually went down rather than up. Then again at 22 my stats went even lower.
In other words, with the way gear scaling works it is very important to have good gear for your particular level if you want to be competitive with higher level players.
Xhaiden is right. This is one of the worst launches and the game has less features than any previous MMO at launch….oh wait, that’s not true at all.
This is easily one of the most feature rich MMO at launch…ever. I can’t believe folks don’t have just a little bit of patience to let ArenaNet prioritize fixes post launch.
They’ve said many times prior to launch that additional eSport features would come post launch. Either people didn’t get the memo or they have unrealistic expectations that a bunch of new features would be added a week or two after release of one of the biggest games in history.
That $3000 card is slower than a current $300 consumer grade Radeon so I wouldn’t expect anything too amazing out of it.
In addition, WvW is mostly CPU limited not GPU limited. So, a $250 video card will likely play identically to a $400 card.

Keep in mind that gear scales. My level 15 Guardian in blue and green armor has almost the exact same stats that my level 80 Warrior has in all rare gear.
Yes, its taken ArenaNet 8 days to just physically write a blog post. It couldn’t possibly be more complicated than that could it? Surely it isn’t because they must confirm what they are going to do before they write it which in turn requires multiple meetings, which in turn requires scheduling around more important issues in each person’s schedules.
Let’s get real. Henge Does not need to ally with any server. The notion is just silly….the server has dominated nearly every matchup, and the accusations are ludicrous.
/thread.
HoD has dominated because they have a great overnight crew. That’s the pretty much the main reason. And hey.. There is nothing wrong with that, it’s part of the game and will be the reason HoD will remain on top for awhile. Until a server that can get a good enough overnight force to compete with HoD’s overnight force, they’ll remain on top. Unless 2 servers gang up on HoD from the start. Although that isn’t really needed as ET has proved that they have a much better day force then HoD.
There is no denying that our late night/Oceanics are fantastic. However, its not like HoD is regularly losing before the late night shift. We are usually ahead during prime time as well.
Changing the scoring interval does very little to solve "night capping."

I’m pretty sure changing the score interval had nothing to do with late night capping.
These excuses and accusations just keep coming don’t they? It seems like there’s a new external reason why a server loses to HoD each 24hr match up.
For your sake and ours, I really hope some of the people on these other servers will realize that at least part of the reason they are losing is because they still have room to improve. Learn new techniques and tactics from the people you are playing against. I certainly have no issue admitting that at least some of us on HoD have learned from some of the servers we’ve played against.
I have the same issue and made a previous thread about it here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/WvW-queue-is-seemingly-random
Everyone I’ve talked to has had the same issue so I’m surprised there hasn’t been more attention here.
Let me preface to say that I’m not sure if this a bug or a difference in opinion on how the WvW queue should be implemented.
I regularly see people get into WvW before I do despite queuing after me and vice versa. In fact, there have been times that I will be in the queue for 3+ hours only to hear that a friend got in after being queued for 10 minutes. Assuming the WvW queue is implemented as a first in first out then this is an obvious bug. It would be nice to get some sort of indication as to your queue placement to help in these situations.
On the other hand, if the queue is implemented as a sort of random lottery then this post is a plea to rethink this and go with another implementation. I am growing very frustrated with 5 hour long WvW queues and it is only made worse by the seemingly randomness of how people get in WvW.
