It’s going to be tough to figure out who were in progress, I really hope they find a solution. Especially like the server we were on, last step and all.
Honestly, I feel like a lot came out. Enough that items dropped 100g in value, and that’s just the initial sales, not the people holding out til post-event to flood the market. We’ll see though. Huge market drops/increases reflect just how much of an affect one 11 hour event can have.
Perhaps I am naive, I didn’t expect it to be within 3 months of release. I am scared to imagine how long it will take to acquire the new ‘unattainable’ items.
Thinking this through, what most upset me was this:
An ~11 hour window for people to get what has been for the past few months the hardest items in the game in a way that makes previous methods laughable.
Should we continue to farm? Or just wait til the next event?
I believe this is a fair question.
PopeUrban, please, no.
Everyone in your argument has a fair chance, this event did not give the majority a fair chance. Therein lies a lot of problems being discussed.
Unfortunately people will slip through the cracks, people who worked hard. And for the people over in/by Asia, they got downright screwed. Was unfair all around, except of course for the people who had no responsibilities within an 11 hour window of time. That’s a small %.
It’s pointless.
2 months of cursed shore farming, I’ve never had a single exotic drop for me and have made ~150 gold.
I spend 5 hours with bugs and boots today to get kicked at the boss, get nothing.
Similar person who woke up much earlier gets hundreds of gold in precursors.
Totally makes sense.
Truly, a game that favors certain people at certain times won’t be seeing much more interest from me. If everyone doesn’t have an equal opportunity then there’s no reason to play.
How hard was it to let ongoing events finish and just stop new overflow servers? Thanks for ruining the event.
I don’t see why providing everyone in the world an equal opportunity to participate is bad, honestly, can’t let an event run a little longer and not JUST on the weekend? Not like this matters, Anet clearly didn’t think this through.
It was a great attempt by the community to salvage a failure by Anet. Instead of putting in an event spawning STOP function instead they just boot everyone in progress. After all day of boots and overflow bugs I’m left with a sour taste and no desire, or anything to show for my efforts.
Thanks, thanks for motivating me to waste hours to be continually kicked from instances to ultimately never finish the event.
You think it was better to just boot everyone instead of patching in a stop function for the event such that new overflows wouldnt spawn it? You couldn’t have just let everyone finish? Thanks.
