Late breaking news: “Majority” and “Minority” are not terms used here. That’s WoW speak you’re talking. You know what I’m talking about? How the “Majority” of players completely destroyed an A+ game?
I just used that term here and it was properly applied as well.
I don’t know anything about WoW my friend, I’ve never played it. I’ve spent my time from EQ1 onward playing MMOs and I can tell you that only a minority of players agree with the poster I quoted.
Any other bits of my vernacular that you’d like to pointlessly attack? Maybe you could join a few other posters here and tell us how “hard” CoF is and how much “skill” it takes?
It’s not our job or out obligation to say what the majority and the minority are supposed to do. I’m just getting tired of everyone evaluating MMOs as if they were the owners of the company or something. The developers will decide for themselves who they want to listen to. If they want to listen to the minority of their players, so sure as hell have the right to.
sure they have the right to listen to them. But where does it get them? In the same boat as SWtOR. This will get them nowhere. They are digging a hole for themselves. Listen to the majority. All the people on this forum want the game to succeed. Otherwise they wouldn’t be taking time out of their day to comment on the forums to begin with. Listen to the people speaking the truth. Swallow your pride Anet, and own up to your mistakes. You can not release untested content patches. That is first grade stuff. Do not wrongfully punish your community, and then delete comments that call you out on it.

This remembers me to DoA times in GW1, everyone was whining, complaining it as to hard, in the end was fine and enjoyable.
Let me stop you there and inform you that Anet said from the start that we were supposed to have freedom in the way we play. Not REQUIRED to go Toughness/ Vitality. that was a flat out Lie. Nerfing dungeon rewards while upping difficulty is also a terrible move. Many things needed to be addressed in the PVE aspect of this game. The changes that were implemented, was not even close to any of the issues. If making money was the issue HotW would be nerfed as well. You make more money per time spent in there than old CoF. Their reasoning is terrible. There was no test to make sure the content would work after implementation. You can not do that in an MMO, or any game for that matter. It is Irresponsible.
The opinions that will save this game will be pushed down as “Whining” or “Self entitlement” By the fanboys that aren’t even at the dungeon we are talking about. They have not done this dungeon, or they would know that this change is horrific. Therefore they have no right to comment on what was a good change, and what was not. The sad part is, we actually ARE getting ignored due to that. The people complaining, fanboys, Are the only ones that can save your game. This game is going to lose money due to this. This was the final straw for a lot of people. Those people, myself included, WILL be getting their money back. We were lied to, and kicked in the face. This is not how i wanted GW2 to end up.
I seriously cannot believe how the majority of people view dungeons and other things. This is entitlement at its worst.
Nothing in Guild Wars 2 that makes you stand out from the rest of the players should be easily obtainable in any way. Everyone seems to think that dungeon gear, cultural weapons, cultural armors, legendary items, specific skins, karma and money should all be obtainable with minimum efforts and during a very short period of time. Better yet, you all seem to want these things for free!
Do you not understand that you yourself are making this a grind because you cannot take it slow and with more ease? It’s not like any of this stuff is running away from you or will become completely worthless after a few months.
Sure, it’s nice to look unique and stand out, but that’s quite an oxymoron if everyone wears the same exact armor and weapons like you because it’s so easily obtainable!
All of the above mentioned things are long term goals. You aren’t supposed to grind them, they will come naturally to you as a reward for experiencing the various content this game has to offer. You all seem to rush through this stuff like your life depends on it instead of really doing what you want to do. Obviously, if grinding/farming things is becoming a chore for you, you should stop and do something else you actually enjoy doing.
What exactly will you do after having obtained everything you want? Will you come here to complain about the lack of content because you rushed through it? Will you simply quit the game because there is nothing left to do for you?
Do you understand that people work/play at different speeds? Some people want their stuff fast, and are willing to grind it out. Do not say that Anet should punish those people, Incorrectly mind you. I was planning on running for a different set myself anyway. I was running this CoF with a friend because he wanted the set for looks. There is nothing wrong with the old design. If they wanted the difficulty up, fine. They didn’t do that right. Stop commenting on something you have no idea about. this dungeon was destroyed by this patch, and no one will run it anymore. That is not good design. Until you run it the way it was meant to be run, do not say that this is a good change.
P.S. You can not run this the way it was intended. So please take your Fanboy attitude somewhere else.
The patch that was deployed tosha, was the most Irresponsible thing they could have done. In ANY MMO, you do not address PvE issues without warning and testing. Neither was done. It’s like a smack in the face. A blatant abuse of power. The rollback we are calling for, isn’t to have the 10-15 min runs back. It’s to have the feeling of a reward back. CoF is all i can speak for, because i haven’t lived through CM explorable (though i’ve heard nightmare stories) The event with the bomb was way imbalanced to begin with. Fixing that event to take a little longer is fine. But what they didn’t account for, is that is was near impossible to be completed correctly before the patch. Now, since the bomb takes longer, more mobs spawn. Making it 100% impossible to do legit.
If you have moderators on here right now Anet. How about you do something about the VERY CLEAR DISAPPROVAL of your most recent patch. Don’t give automated responses and take thread down that tell the truth.
Do not ignore this. You need to address the issues stated within the last few hours alone, as soon as humanly possible. that doesn’t even scratch the surface of the work that needs to be done, balance wise, to the rest of your game. But this is by far the biggest issue right now.
Many people are stating very real concerns about your decision a few hours ago. You made such a bad decision, that there are more people against it, than there are for it. And with the amount of blind fanboys you have, that has to tell you that you messed up bad.
These changes are good, and should continue. Weed out the weak, dungeons are intended to be challenges, not snoozefests doable by subpar players.
You have not been in this dungeon. you do not understand how bad this change truly is. Please understand. I do not wish to stifle your freedom of speech. But you are doing nothing to help this thread at all. The bomb event was close to impossible before the buff. Now it is definitely impossible. And no amount of fanboy spittle with the “Well just focus the right mobs, Don’t get hit baddie!” mentality will make it possible. No one has killed these mobs before they are overwhelmed and eventually defeated. If the event was cleared while DPSing down the adds, it was done by luck, with staggered deaths, and Graveyard running. that is NOT how ANY encounter should be designed. EVER.
I don’t think anyone here believes that the bomb part of that path was intended to be a kite event. But it iskittennear impossible without kiting and praying. Knowing that, Anet should be focusing on blatantly imbalanced PvE content, before player punishment.
Hi Arenanet, it would be great if you could upload a video of your best players completing the protect-magg portion of the dungeon without graveyard running.

Thank god, someone who has been in the dungeon, and actually knows what it’s like. sadly though, Anet will not link you anything. because it is impossible. But the fanboys seem to think it is.
Wayfinder, you obviously have not run CoF : Magg path. The bomb section is impossible to clear without kiting single-file, and hoping you can last the timer.
Good change which was expected (and needed to prevent exploiting content made unintentionaly too easy), even discussed on these forums a while ago.
Have you run this specific path since the change in tonight’s patch? If you had run it, you would notice mobs that spawn on a timer that is impossible to meet before more mobs spawn. Bugs during the lava room. The mobs were unkillable before the patch as well. Which i do not agree with. People were kiting them, cheesing the event all together. I didn’t want to kite the mobs. But they were unkillable then as well. The difference now is, the bomb takes longer. This in turn causes more mobs to spawn. You couldn’t kill them before. Spawning more doesn’t solve the problem. It causes people to find more ways to cheese the mechanic. Such as the single-file strategy. You can honestly say to me, that you want dungeons to follow that model?

They nerfed your easy farm now your mad and you cry… there are other easy farm.
and yes it take hours of investment to get a full set from a dungeon its a prestige item.
If you wanna look mediocre forever with your little crafted exotique go ahead.

Atm its quite buggy well the magma part the rest work fine and isnt too hard you just cant do it with blue lvl 70 item anymore… wich make sense.
There is no over dramatization. This is a real problem. Fixing the rush aspect is fine. Bugging the dungeon half way through is not fine. Making the bomb arm time take longer, and having mobs spawn faster than they can be killed? Also not fine. They are going about this the wrong way. The fanboys need to sit on the sidelines, and maybe think with their brains for a second. Bugs and outright abuse of power like this, can not be allowed to persist. This will kill Anet’s Player base. I want this game to succeed with all my heart. However their current choices are pushing them in the exact opposite direction.
hello all, i have a question Guild Wars 2 is a WoW to have a good equipment we need to farm dungeons and raids? Unfortunately, the answer is yes. Why? Because we need to make dungeon 80 times to make full armor. Other cases the difficulty for example COF, this dungeon is now hard but we need the same number of tokens to do armor. I would like to dungeon was hard but armor can’t cost 1380 tokens. Fix it fast or i need to abandon this game just by grind dungeons. (sorry for my simple english)
No you dont have to farm dungeons, you can have the exotic max stats with Crafting, buying in AH, Karma, Mystic Forge, the Dungeons are mean to get rare skins.
I love how people who tell that CoF was the unique fun dungeon, no it isnt you think that is fun because is the only dungeon that you can farm fast, isnt fun, simple is easy and the people want easy things, if now CoF last 1 hour and Ascalonan Tombs last 15 minutes, AT woul be the favourite dungeon of people -_-.
Is true that they need improve the dungeon reward, but is funny how people want easy 20 minute dungeon run when is supossed to be the most diffcult thing to parties.
This dungeon was buffed beyond belief. I do not mind at all, if the dungeon is made so it can not be rushed. But the mechanics need to be tuned so they are not overpowered. Or straight bugged. Please do not use your closed mind, and assume that everyone wants free gear. I don’t mind working for my gear. But overly tuned dungeons is not how you do it. That alienates most of their player base.
This needs to be rolled back immediately. IF you want to make it so people can not just run through the lava room, or kite the mobs on the bomb event. Fine. But tune it accordingly. Make the bomb arm progress not advance until you kill a wave of mobs. When you clear a wave, Spawn more and let the bar progress. The current implementation is not how you should handle your game. There are ways to pose a challenge without completely breaking a dungeon. The fire room. Is bugged immensely. He dies in fire, and you can not res him because the fire continues to do damage while dead. And you can’t put it out because he is dead and can not give you a gun. These patches need to be tested before they are released. You have plenty of other world bugs to fix. The nerf to XP and silver, is completely unjustified. How do you expect the casual players, or the players that are not Trading post savvy to get gold for their legendaries, or other things? Please roll this back. and think about your decisions before doing this in the future.
With the recent string of hackings going on. I believe it would be in your best interest as a company, to Develope an Application for mobile devices, Or create a little device, similar to other MMO’s. Or both! Authenticators bring down the chance of being hacked Immensely. I believe EVERY GW2 player will agree that this is a good move for your community, and your business.
