so since my ISP just told me that “everything is fine with my connection” I would really like to have this resolved

as far as I understand Pingplotter is that it will ping every hop, but if this hop is not being able to be pinged then you get 100% packet loss which should be the case of my second hop. since frankfurt has about 20% pl pings are getting there but some go missing and I need to talk to my ISP again. But I had the same behavior while getting a playable connection under a different IP.

tested today again got the 110, 113 and 115 IP, no changes. Overall latency seems fine but where are the lags coming from?

So that would be the issue still. Unless that hop you cross over is fixed, it will have problems. There will be times you don’t use it, and times you do.

the funny thing is the hops are the same … its only the ip address that kills it

exactly two weeks ago I noticed that I had massive lags in the game, porting enemies, skill lags and even salvaging stuff in my inventory was affected by it, so basically everything I did was affected so I started digging why.

1. Check ingame Ping.
First I had a ping of 20ish which is normal for my connection. But this surprised me because this shouldn’t be the case if I have lags so I waited and there it was lag spikes that aren’t even recognized by the ingame ping and lag spikes that were between 1000-2000 ping. Unplayable! Avg Ping stayed at ~200

2. Check network connection with speedtest etc
So there was definitely something wrong and I need to figure out why, fast. Speedtest showed nothing interesting just the usual 150mbit down and 5mbit up speed, even switching servers didn’t influence anything at all, ping was to each server under 15ms. How about other conntections? While watching music from youtube, downloading well everything that is going up and down my connection I tested with zero influence on my latency.

3. Ressourcemonitor
while digging for clues what I can check next I found the windows ressourcemonitor and found something interesting. Gw2 is connecting to three different IPs one of this is 64.25.47.XXX, in the last week, every time I was connected to this IP which ended to 110,111,112,113 I had massive lags. The last few days I was connected to 114 and 115 and everything was fine.

Simultaneously I ran pingplotter to see how my connection is routed to the endpoint. Since I live in Germany I was routed over Frankfurt which in my case is the worst routing I could possibly had because of the ping problem. I contacted my ISP and told them my problem but since I was connected to “working” server IPs I thought this matter was resolved.

Until today, I just wanted to play a ranked match and as soon as I joined a match I got the lags again, checked ressourcemonitor and I was connected to 64.25.47.111 again.

So here I am … sitting in the pvp lobby Avg ping 120 and every few seconds a ping of 1000. whats going on?

Here it goes: I’m playing Guild Wars 2 since release and even after three years I notice that on every new open world event the scaling is utterly broken. Mobs are dying in seconds that some classes aren’t even able to attack even with auto attack because of the AoE’s.
Another problem I noticed more often lately is that you wont get charges on your “on kill” sigils. Most of the new Events or Living Story wont give you EXP which I can understand but if you don’t gain EXP you can’t get charges on your “on kill” sigil.

additional to that scaling problem is that new players who don’t even have the best gear for their classes to do the most dmg to participate in these events get barely any event gold event completion. I can’t say if you get event rewards because I rarely care about these rewards a veteran player but If there are rewards new players won’t even get the most out of it and all because of the scaling.

I actually can’t believe that this is still a problem after three years.

I tried GEMFX sometime ago (1.0.5 i think) and couldn’t get it working properly. But after I watched WP’s video here I just had to find a way to get it look like this because its absolutely stunning.

like I wrote in my initial post I did use other presets which did the same thing

I have some trouble with GEMFXv1.0.8

I installed GEMFXv1.0.8 and copied the whole folder to my GW2 bin directory and downloaded a preset from here

I renamed it to “GEMFX_settings.cfg” and copied it to the /GEMFX/Presets/current inside my bin directoy.

I started GEMFX_Configurator and load the preset. Opened GW2 and I already on the Character screen I noticed a change, to the worse. The whole game was dark and slugish and didn’t look well at all. (looked like myself while having the flu)

I tried some more presets but its always the same problem and I don’t know why. Any suggestions?

Every Living world season 2 chapter was available for 2 weeks were it was running. If you logged into the game in this time frame you would have gotten the chapter for free. Everyone who didn’t do that now needs to pay for it.

For some time the auto login in the launcher does not work anymore. I tried reinstalling the game, remove the C:\Users\<MyUser>\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2 folder but always the same even though I checked both boxes to remember Account name and password.

Pre Patch I had really balanced matches in PVP but now it’s always winning with 300-400 points advantage or losing with like max 100 points.

I don’t know if that is because many unskilled/new players are doing PvP because of the reward tracks but this shouldn’t compromise the matchmaking.

any update on this problem? still missing the icons in the files.json

okay I just overlooked that you need to use skill 6 to get to the others …

I can choose a signature move before I click ready but there I only have Boast even though I beat Berddi and Maddie. And I can only activate boast one time for 3 stacks.

Unfortunately, that is how it is supposed to be – it is not a bug.

So I defeated Caiwyn the Corsair and I got “Boast” but after Berddi I noticed that I didn’t got the “Back in My Day” Signature move. Then I got to Maddie to get “Woo” but there was the is the same Problem. And now I can’t beat Graster Beakerbane to counter his Signature move.

Any ideas or is it a Bug?
