Yeah I wondered the same thing during the event – how come I was not getting any XP from killing the larger Karka? So basically what this implies is that if 25 or more people pummel the same Veteran Karka with identical DPS (<4% damage each) none of them will get XP and loot for their efforts. Seems pointless to me. I can see why that mechanism exists (to prevent XP farming/free loading) but I think the reward should decay more smoothly with damage percentage, particularly for these zerg events.

I’m sorry but the next time someone uses the “it was free so stop complaining” argument, I’m gonna scream. I don’t know about you but my time, especially in 2-3h chucks, is definitely NOT free. For me, taking the time to play through an event, when I have no idea what to expect, is an investment and I expected a return. Running through this event with its constant problems felt more like a chore than fun and in the end my reward was frustration (I couldn’t finish it once after several attempts). People should always be critical about the quality of their gaming experience, whether it is “free” or not.

I spent my whole afternoon+evening with this crap and I sampled all the different flavors: severe lag, creature bugs, DCs, login server falling off the face of the earth, finding out the event was still live in some overflows and then getting DC or hit with new builds half way through. This is the last time I ever participate in a GW2 one-shot event, that’s for sure.

Tried 3 times, couldn’t finish it once over 10h of trying. I want my Sunday back.

This is beyond stupid.
